Went by here a few days ago leaving Northlake heading on the backroads to Sanger and found this place. I wasn't surprised by how great the food is here, the burgers were awesome and the staff were helpful and friendly. It reminds me of being back home in West Virginia so now I'll be making this my regular stop for food. read more

Bev's is a very informal grill in the Valero gas station 1 mile north of Ponder TX. The menu is basic grill food like burgers, chicken fried steak, Philly cheese steak, tots, o-rings, fries, etc. It's basically a convenience store with a half dozen tables. A handful of my neighbors are big hamburger fans, and they've tried almost every restaurant within 20 miles of Northlake. They insisted that this was the best burger around, so I tried it. They were right, and the half dozen neighbors I've sent there since agree. The place is spotless and the employees are almost aggressively nice. You won't go back to soak in the elegance, or hope to be seen by the paparazzi. It's paper plates and styrofoam cups. But put on sunglasses and a hat, sit in the back with the locals, and just enjoy a damn good burger. Or maybe a corn dog to go. read more

But if you're just passing through town, and reading reviews because you need a quick easy place to grab food, a case of beer, & fuel...don't overlook this GEM!! Bev's is the epitome of what small town Texas represents. You walk in and feel like family; everyone inside is so nice and polite, genuinely happy people! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't initially apprehensive ordering food from a gas station. Boy am I glad I got over it! Fast forward three years later- me and my husband love their burgers and BLTs so much that we do a Friday night date here. Affordable & delicious! Hands down the best fries I've ever had! I absolutely love this store and I have come here for years.. but frustrating you will have 4 to 5 gas pumps blocked by folks that are inside shopping or ordering food and maybe placing a sign up saying, don't block the pumps would help... read more

Dinner was chicken Fried steak chicken fingers with fried okra. It was so yummy the okra was so crispy and there was such a large amount of it. I just found this place the other day because basically it looks like a gas station from the outside but a neighbor told me that it is the best place to eat in the town of ponder so I had to go try it out. They were right I have had breakfast lunch and dinner in here and all of them have been outstanding. read more

Bev's has great service and a great selection of food to order for pickup that is amazing! Philly cheesesteak is awesome and so are their chicken fried steak sandwiches and cheeseburgers. Takes about 15 minutes because they make it when you order so call ahead and it will be ready when you get there! Also bathrooms are very clean and they have some novelty items for sale. read more

Solid cooked to order food. It is in a gas station but definitely great food for a fair price. If you're in Ponder don't hesitate to stop at a gas station to eat. They have a number of tables inside you can sit down and eat or take it to go. read more

at first visiting here thought this place was a gem because of the small town feel of the place & how the male cook cares, is competent, & makes an effort for your food to be tasty & that does matter. then after countless bad customer service experiences with bev's attitude & laziness & other employees there i've added bev's to my definitely do not go there places for shure. if coffee isnt made they wount make you any, they also shut down the coffee really early & if the male cook's gone the girls have the grill shut down early almost every time as well. some of the laziest staffing & owner i've seen excluding the guy cook. i've also seen them literally shut down before halfway in the day because it was going to rain... not thunderstorm, rain. i have no idea. they've even said 'they're the only thing around' as an excuse to their blatant lazyness & incompetence. most i know that stopped here in the past have had consistent unpleasant stories because of obvious customer service issues from the female staff and bev as well, save yourself the frustration & stay away from this place. ps: if you own a business you should steal their male cook, he's a damn good obviously self motivated worker. read more
