This was a super quick stop as it's my (sixth?) (seventh?) Buc-ee's on this journey so I'm very familiar with the format of these large Texas destination gas stations. Plenty of room in the parking area, lots of gas pumps, a good crowd inside at 5:30pm on a weekday. I did a quick pass through the food area and yes, they're busy slicing up "fresh brisket on the board!' and candying nuts. There's the huge wall of jerky, the counter of bakery items including kolaches and cookies. Clothing and decor. I made one small purchase today - my "FORT WORTH" Buc-ee's fridge magnet for the collection. The short queue at the register went fast and we were on our way. Buc-ee's is hands down the gold standard in highway rest stops. 25 years ago as a young adult taking my first roadtrips would I never have imagined that the crusty rest stops of yesteryear would've morphed into these sprawling, glittering bastions of unbridled capitalism. Good for Buc-ee's! First, Buc-ee's is for everyone! They have a sea of gas pumps as well as many EV chargers. While you fill up or recharge, you will no doubt be drawn into the awe that is the Buc-ee's world. Now, before I get too much into the weeds, I have to take some time to talk about the restroom facilities. It's like they cracked the code and realized that if they offer clean, safe bathrooms, the people will come. Every Buc-ee's I've been to has immaculately clean bathrooms. You will no doubt always find someone continuously cleaning them. They are also thoughtfully designed. Each stall is reasonably sized and has an indicator to tell you if it's occupied or not. The walls are solid between the stalls and you get an actual sense of privacy. There is always ample toilet paper and sanitizer in each stall. It's also worthy of mention that there are legions of stalls, so you never have to wait to go. I've never counted, but I think these has to be at least 30 or so. Oh, and Buc-ee's also has a pet relief station on the edge of their site. A true rest stop for all. Now to the product. Buc-ee's offerings are expansive. Yes, you can find typical gas station fare like bottled drinks and snacks, but it's so much more. There are food stations within the store that have their own focus like the sandwich station, the fudge bar or the bakery. The BBQ sandwich station is something to behold as it's almost like theater in the round. Throughout the day, you can find one of the team members chopping brisket on a large butcher's block, then when it's time to pour BBQ sauce to transition to the next phase of assembling the sandwich, they'll announce "SAUCE ON THE BOARD!" In a particular lyrical cadence, to which the other food preppers will respond "MM, SAUCE ON THE BOARD" in a downbeat lyrical retort. It's hilarious and I don't know how this tradition got started, but it's brilliant. I'm barely scratching the surface here, but there are lot's of options for grab and go food that are on the fresher side. In addition to food, you can also find a variety of products from ice coolers, clothing and even artwork...like real artwork painted by artists. Need a last minute gift? Buc-ee's has quirky gifts, designer candles and so many other items you would not expect to find at a rest stop. You will always find the place hopping, so Buc-ee's is thankfully well equipped to handle high volumes of people. At each entrance you will find scores of registers and the waits (if there is one) is pretty minimal. It's usually a good bet you can get in and out relatively quickly if that's your aim, and the service is always friendly and warm. Overall, Buc-ee's is an institution and it's no wonder that the Beaver Mascot is almost ubiquitous in the culture (well, at least in TX). People love this place and it's easy to see why. They took everything that was unsavory and broken about highway rest stops and turned them around. It's this reason why if I'm on a road trip, I'll wait a bit longer to make it to the Buc-ee's to take care of business and get my noms- it's just eons ahead of anyone else in the rest stop game. read more

I thought Buc-ee's was a Texas thing, but it turns out it's really a half of Texas and some of the south thing. If your in West Texas, El Paso, Lubbock, Amarillo, CC, Laredo you get nothing. I love that most don't have EV charging, cmon now people, if you drive an EV in Texas you don't deserve Buccees. It's about the size of a grocery when you factor in the property. Multiple sets of pumps give you cover from rain and sun along with outter parking. The parking store side is large for those with trucks. Fighting for close parking is less of a priority than leisurely perusing the store for an hour. I've been here multiple times while visiting my sister in Dallas/Coppel and I usually spend just under an hour for each visit. I've yet to see and try everything, so I'll be back here again and again. Since Texas is the mecca of BBQ and Banana pudding is one of the top desserts at many BBQ joints it's no shock they do it here and do it well. Some musts here are to take a picture with the bucee statue. Beaver nuggests (white cheddar, bold and spicy, sea salt habanero) . Cherry Maple Jerkey, Blazin Trail Crunch, Cinnamon Roll, Chocolate Pecan Fudge, Glazed Almonds, Jalapeno Peanut brittle. As you can tell their best sellers are either sweet or savory or both. When you think about it it's a bit like a Trader Joes on steriods for snacks, BUT they have ready made food from BBQ Brisket, sandwiches, kolaches, sauces. The brisket is decent, not good, but also not priced like a true bbq joint. It's proof that BBQ in Texas is so good that their gas station food beats most of the country. Like Costco it's about trying to get out of here spending less than a hundred bucks, not including gas, which isn't that hard when gas is half of what I pay back in California. read more

George Jones music as you enter it's going to be swinging good time. Unbelievable is the way to describe this place, I don't know where to start. I'd say plan on 45 minutes if it's your first time. We strolled along with many other first timers. Any kind of fresh Bbq, brisket, sausage, turkey pork, chicken, burritos tacos melts all kind of sweets, bakery it's all here hot and ready. Don't forget their world famous jerky. Camping, outdoor fishing hunting apparel, home decorating, jewelry all quality it's here. Bathrooms are super clean and enormous. Buc-ee's lives up to all the hype that is behind it . I recently went to Dallas and I made it a point that I had to go to Buc-ee's . Now there are over 30 locations in the great state of Texas. However I was closet to the one in Fort Worth. As soon as you step in it's an overwhelming overflow of delicious smells and merchandise . To be honest I was a little overwhelmed and I didn't know where to start . So I let my stomach guide me and we went straight to the brisket sections , chopped , sliced you name it they had it . The caramelized pecans I was obsessed with it . They have a bakery , make your own coffee station . Merchandise for your dog to your grandpa. This is just more than a gas station it's a mall , food court everything you can ever need all in one . The bathrooms were so clean and there were so many bathrooms you don't have to wait . The paints that are lined up along the bathroom walls are for sale if you're interested . I mean I can go on and on but we don't have that kind of time . First off, I was amazed how gigantic the inside of the store was. When I walked through the store, It first looked like a convenient store, then a restaurant, and then clothings at the back of the store. I can literally spend hours there, it's so big and so much to look at. I had to stay focus and just get the food. I ended up getting 3 things. But only ended up eating half of the xxl brisket sandwich that night. It was super big and filling. Then I tried the brisket Mac and cheese, which was super rich. I wish they had a dining area, because of the traffic it took me 30 minutes to drive home. I wanted to return later, but never got the chance to. Wow!!! This place is soo much fun. I've been dreaming about coming here ever since I heard about it. A large gas station and a convenience store filled with snacks and other goodies, sign me up! We made sure to look up the square footage before we went since we really wanted to go to one of the biggest Buc-ee's. We were staying in Dallas and took us about 30 minutes to get there. The place was indeed the biggest convenience store I've seen, and I felt like a kid in a candy store right when I walked in. I went straight to the snacks and then over to the merch section. We spent close to 2 hours wandering around and it was so much fun. Before we left, we grabbed chicken tender and fries, brisket sandwich, brisket burrito and they were delicious. The jerky, beaver nuggets and gummi bears were just average. I would love to go to another Buc-ee's the next time I'm in Texas so that I can get more merch. Love this place!! Flew into Dallas/Fort Worth international airport and immediately drove to this location! Always wanted to go to Buc-ees and everything is overwhelming. I love going through the aisles and see their store branded products. Price is really good. I picked up their brisket burger and a side of brisket. I thought their brisket was just okay. This is my second time in Texas and had better brisket elsewhere. for those two it was around $24 which was expensive. Interior is spacious and the shelves are all stocked. Visiting Texas for the first time, I had to visit Buc-ee's. About a 20 minute Uber drive from Sundance Square, Buc-ee's is very visible from the highway. Having avoided YouTube videos so that my experience would be all new and fresh, I was greeted by the cashiers entering, which is nice. The place is huge with a wide variety of pre-packaged, freshly made/prepared, and quick foods. HUGE selections of fountain drinks, fudge, jerky, snacks, and desserts. Sadly, I visited at almost 10pm and the fresh meat section was closed so I wasn't able to try that. Tons of Buc-ee branded clothes and merchandise like BBQ equipment, houseware, gifts, bags, and toys. Pretty much something for everyone as well as souvenir and gifts. I especially wanted to see the highly touted restrooms that I heard so much about from people I knew from Texas, past visitors, and even my Uber driver from the airport. My tough luck: first stall I visit was unflushed and not super clean. Sinks were clean but maybe I should have tempered the sparkly clean bathroom I was envisioning. Don't get me wrong: it wasn't bad or anything, it was just a standard bathroom. Where Buc-ee's shined was the service: greeted at the entrance, friendly service at the fudge and jerky station, and the cashier was especially friendly. I know FOR SURE I would not get that service back in my home state so kudos Buc-ee's! If I ever visit Texas again, I'll be sure to stop by Buc-ee's! read more

There is almost nothing to dislike about Buc-ee's. We've stopped in about half a dozen of them and all locations are consistent with the Buc-ee's standard. Their restrooms are spacious and clean, their service and staff are always friendly, and their food selection is off the charts! If you love bbq or just need a quick and hot meal, their bbq sandwiches are worth the pit stop. It is freshly made and very filling. What I really love about Buc-ee's is the unique merchandise. My family is addicted to collecting a shirt or sweatshirt with every single location. They even have swimsuits and pool floats. Tip: Allocate a good hour for your stops. I was in awe from the moment we pulled into the parking lot. Gas pumps everywhere. A huge building with the epic sign! Stepping into the store I got a smile on my face that didn't go away for hours! Of course anybody that's coming from the north east would think that Buc-we'd is a cross between a gas station, the Christmas tree shop ( now closed) and a Food eatery. It is true. It's so big that you could walk in there for hours when I first went to the register. My bill was $450 so I had to put a lot of it back, but I got some snacks, some clothes. I got a blanket some turkey jerky . The jerky counter is impressive. It's like 30 or 40 different types of jerky although the barbecue turkey is really just the turkey jerky on a bun with barbecue sauce not impressive. The clothes are really good quality, it was a great place to get some souvenirs . I'm sure if your local your agenda would be different but it it's worth the trip. There is something about Buc-ees that just makes you giddy with excitement to shop there. There are none within 10 hours from me, so it's real exciting to get more shirts and swag and Bucees nuggies. My son wanted boxers. I bought 2 shirts. Cashier was real nice and floor worker found shirts in missing sizes in back. We even parked real close. 4/5 stars as there is no dressing room. I had to try these shirts on over my flannel shirt and looked into this mirror. One supposes that deters shoplifting. I may check out Denton and Melissa locations while I'm here. Had an amazing time at Buc-ee's!!! Starla was amazing she came right up to us to help when she heard us I. The phone while trying to pick out Jerky for Grandpa back home. She shared all about Buc-ee's and how we could sample the jerky and other items before purchasing. Over $200 later we left absolutely floored by how much we enjoyed ourselves 10/10 from the time we went in search of the statue to leaving twice and returning for water and a broken bag.
