I did a quick pass through the food area and yes, they're busy slicing up "fresh brisket on the board!' and candying nuts. There's the huge wall of jerky, the counter of bakery items including kolaches and cookies. Clothing and decor. I made one small purchase today - my "FORT WORTH" Buc-ee's fridge magnet for the collection. The short queue at the register went fast and we were on our way. Good for Buc-ee's! First, Buc-ee's is for everyone! They have a sea of gas pumps as well as many EV chargers. While you fill up or recharge, you will no doubt be drawn into the awe that is the Buc-ee's world. Now, before I get too much into the weeds, I have to take some time to talk about the restroom facilities. It's like they cracked the code and realized that if they offer clean, safe bathrooms, the people will come. Every Buc-ee's I've been to has immaculately clean bathrooms. You will no doubt always find someone continuously cleaning them. They are also thoughtfully designed. Each stall is reasonably sized and has an indicator to tell you if it's occupied or not. The walls are solid between the stalls and you get an actual sense of privacy. There is always ample toilet paper and sanitizer in each stall. It's also worthy of mention that there are legions of stalls, so you never have to wait to go. I've never counted, but I think these has to be at least 30 or so. Oh, and Buc-ee's also has a pet relief station on the edge of their site. A true rest stop for all. Now to the product. Buc-ee's offerings are expansive. Yes, you can find typical gas station fare like bottled drinks and snacks, but it's so much more. There are food stations within the store that have their own focus like the sandwich station, the fudge bar or the bakery. The BBQ sandwich station is something to behold as it's almost like theater in the round. Throughout the day, you can find one of the team members chopping brisket on a large butcher's block, then when it's time to pour BBQ sauce to transition to the next phase of assembling the sandwich, they'll announce "SAUCE ON THE BOARD!" In a particular lyrical cadence, to which the other food preppers will respond "MM, SAUCE ON THE BOARD" in a downbeat lyrical retort. It's hilarious and I don't know how this tradition got started, but it's brilliant. I'm barely scratching the surface here, but there are lot's of options for grab and go food that are on the fresher side. In addition to food, you can also find a variety of products from ice coolers, clothing and even artwork...like real artwork painted by artists. Need a last minute gift? Buc-ee's has quirky gifts, designer candles and so many other items you would not expect to find at a rest stop. You will always find the place hopping, so Buc-ee's is thankfully well equipped to handle high volumes of people. At each entrance you will find scores of registers and the waits (if there is one) is pretty minimal. It's usually a good bet you can get in and out relatively quickly if that's your aim, and the service is always friendly and warm. Overall, Buc-ee's is an institution and it's no wonder that the Beaver Mascot is almost ubiquitous in the culture (well, at least in TX). People love this place and it's easy to see why. They took everything that was unsavory and broken about highway rest stops and turned them around. It's this reason why if I'm on a road trip, I'll wait a bit longer to make it to the Buc-ee's to take care of business and get my noms- it's just eons ahead of anyone else in the rest stop game.

The cashier rang them up at $3.00 and immediately asked for my phone number. I declined and pointed out that the price was wrong. He walked over to the refrigerator, and I showed him the sale sign. He then brought the sign back to the register and told me the sale had expired on March 3. I reminded him that we're still in February. He reluctantly rang them up again but insisted he couldn't honor the sale price without my phone number, then set the bottles aside. At that point, I walked out and took my business elsewhere.

It appears they have just finished working on the parking lot so it looks nice & fresh. Being slightly off the beaten path, it's never crowded during rush hour ;) However, it's a little confusing getting back on 114 north. You have to go south all the way to the overpass & cross over 114 southbound to get back on 114 northbound. Other than that, it's a win win stop for some gas, cash, chicken wings, tacos & beer! All of the other 7-11's I frequent have single use restrooms, so my natural response was to use the other restroom. I opened the door and quickly realized it was not a single use bathroom and shut the door immediately. Within seconds of that happening, I was approached by an Indian lady with long brown hair who asked me if I could read and essentially accused me of being some sort of creep. I can almost guarantee that I was not the only person that was in desperate need of a restroom and opened that door. I frequent the Keller establishment and have had to use the women's restroom several times as the men's always seem to be either out of order or have people camping out for several minutes. The lady appeared to be management and judging by the way I was approached and treated in front of other customers, she has no business being a manager. I worked at a 7-11 for several years and always treated everyone with the utmost respect and courtesy. A simple sign would've prevented me from even opening the door. It was an innocent mistake on my part, but due to this interaction, I will never return to this location which is unfortunate as I usually spend a good amount of money there filling up my work vehicle and grabbing snacks and drinks for the day. I understand her need to voice her concern, but I don't expect to be treated like some sort of creeper or talked to with the amount of disrespect that I was. This is also not the first time. She smiled, laughed and said no problem because I bring them a lot of business and always treated them with respect. I'm an ideal customer. Even if I just need to use the restroom, I always buy something and since I work outside in the heat in a work vehicle, I spend a lot of money. Those people work really hard and aren't always treated well, but I'm still always greeted with a smile and they know me by name. Hopefully the Trophy Club employee's attitude catches up with her and she loses her job. She doesn't deserve it and is not cut out for retail. She needs a job that involves zero human interaction. Nice location, clean, fairly new…read more This is a location I used to pass by a lot when I worked the railroad, as the tracks and a siding where we would stop on occasion is right behind this store. It looks newer and it's kept fairly clean. The food is usually ok. They have the hot rollers for hot dogs and taquito's. I used to frequent the hot dog stand a good bit before Covid, it's been a slow process to get back into it. Tho the hot dogs are big, not sure the brand they use, but they are flavorful and are larger than the buns that they keep steamed. The pizza's are always good, usually my go to lunch if I stop here. The 3 meat has bacon on it, super yummy. The fountains are hit and miss, some days the Dr. Pepper is spot on, other days it extra syrupy. That is why I prefer bottles, which a bit more expensive, tho they have a lot of them.

They have nowhere near the tender, juicy flavor of Raising Canes chicken tenders. The little cup of potato salad was about 3 bites worth, yikes. Why on earth doesn't Layne's serve sides like coleslaw at least?? The toast was, well, toast, no real buttery flavor. The Dr. Pepper was fine but the regular is not a big cup. The dipping sauce was flavorful. The girl at the drive-thru window was less than welcoming, no greeting like: Hi! How are you today? And there was no: "I hope you enjoy your meal and come back to see us!". Is it so much to ask that the person at a window greet people with a big smile and an attitude that makes them WANT to come back again?? Overall, not the best first impression. Will we return? Yes, to give it another try. But if it's basically the same as the first visit, we'll continue to give Raising Canes our business when we want good chicken dinner take-out.
