Secondly they advertise they serve it with queso fresco; but it's not queso fresco. It's Parmesan cheese, which tastes disgusting on an elote. Lastly, they advertise it's served with their home made chili powder and lime (paste) which is the Mexican street style way of having an elote. Well it was NOT their homemade sauce. It was salsa VALENTINA ‍ I really wanted to give them a chance since they're local and close to home but I'll just stick to ordering from Helados La Azteca in Haltom. The system accepted my order and charged me $43, but the store had just closed. (This location has some days it stays open later) Apparently, the order was then scheduled for the following morning. I did not select a future pickup time and certainly did not intend for "ASAP" to mean the next business day. I tried calling the store multiple times and could not reach anyone until around 3:00 PM the following day. When I finally spoke with someone, I was told this has been an ongoing issue, which is the most concerning part. If the business knows customers are experiencing this problem, the ordering process should be corrected or customers should at least be clearly warned before their payment is accepted. I understand that technology fails and mistakes happen. What matters to me is how a business handles those situations. I contacted both the store and corporate customer service and tried every avenue provided to resolve this appropriately. Despite never receiving the $43 worth of food I paid for, I was denied a refund or even the promise that they would correct the issue within the app. So just a warning to anyone ordering online: pay very close attention to the pickup time, especially if ordering later in the evening. Selecting ASAP does not necessarily mean your order will be available that evening, even though the system may still accept your payment. Mistakes happen. I can understand that. (it is currently, in "pending" status) I called Murphy's customer service explained that I have a charge for $40 dollars and a receipt for $20. Customer Service insists that they only charged my card for $20.00. I then explain that that I don't go to Walmart and get charged double when I buy $20.00. I went to the WINDOW, not the pump! Since I did credit, instead of debit I feel like this practice is a very shady way to take money from a customer! We went to the window, fully understanding that this would keep us from having a hold on our account for more than the cost of the charge. Only to find out that they are double charging people. You can see below that, there is definitely an issue here. Whether that is a technical issue or there is something shady going on in the store. Customer Service could have done a better job! I continually got stone walled with customer service regardless of the proof I had and also told there was NO MANAGER available when she was obviously done speaking to me. When I request the Managers name and district Mgr. Names I was only given the full name of the manager and told by the same associate the district manager for Murphy's was only giving out his first name. Believe it or not, I am that part of the population where $20 is counted in my budget. Simply it was not Murphy's to take. If there IS something shady going on in that store... they should've been more concerned about stealing from their customer! Anyways, if you have not tried their prepared foods you are missing out. I love their sushi by the SUSHIYA Chefs onsite. So good! My other favorites are the Chicken Salad available in several sizes, the steak and baked potato, lasagna rolls, breakfast burrito's, chicken with broccoli with cream sauce and coconut shrimp. What is great is that you heat up or cook your meal in the provided container, win, win! I have been quite surprised at the flavors and choices as most days it's just me so it's great to not to have cook and they are a great value.
