Layne's always serves good chicken fingers and I really like the Layne's sauce. The service is good and the staff is friendly.

We want so badly to support Laynes. My husband is an Aggie who has fond memories of Laynes from his years in College Station. Our experience at the Roanoke Laynes is hit or miss, it's always the service. There is rarely chicken ready and we are told to pull forward to wait. It happened again today, this was the third time in about 4 weeks. For a business that only serves chicken and fries, a basic expectation of both being ready within 10 min from a drive thru is not unreasonable. This experience will send us to the other chicken place only a few miles away next time we're picking up food. read more

First visit: We each got the chicken fingers with potato salad and a piece of toast and regular size Dr. Pepper ... price for each, over $13. We think that's WAY too high for a fast food order, but it might be justifiable if the order was exceptional. The chicken fingers were skinny and dry looking; they were mostly tender but didn't have any real punch when it came to taste. They have nowhere near the tender, juicy flavor of Raising Canes chicken tenders. The little cup of potato salad was about 3 bites worth, yikes. Why on earth doesn't Layne's serve sides like coleslaw at least?? The toast was, well, toast, no real buttery flavor. The Dr. Pepper was fine but the regular is not a big cup. The dipping sauce was flavorful. The girl at the drive-thru window was less than welcoming, no greeting like: Hi! How are you today? And there was no: "I hope you enjoy your meal and come back to see us!". Is it so much to ask that the person at a window greet people with a big smile and an attitude that makes them WANT to come back again?? Overall, not the best first impression. Will we return? Yes, to give it another try. But if it's basically the same as the first visit, we'll continue to give Raising Canes our business when we want good chicken dinner take-out. read more

Service was friendly. I hadn't been to laynes since college and I'm glad to see the business doing well. The interior is of course way different than it is in cstat. The menu had also changed a little bit. Lots of new things so I had to try them. I added a side of gravy and jalapeño ranch. Subbed one finger to be spicy to try it. And of course the regular items that come with the 3 finger meal: toast, fries, and laynes sauce. I realllllly like their fries. Flavor and texture. The chicken was also good. I liked having the gravy there to dip stuff in than just the laynes sauce. Everything was good! The toast could've been a little toastier. It's a little bit more on the soft side, but flavor was there. The jalapeño ranch wasn't bad but I would probably skip it next time. It would probably go good with another item but the laynes sauce and gravy were good with the meal. I'd say it's worth giving this place a try! read more

They have some kind of pricing scam going on. Ordered online and was charged one price. Picked it up and realized the price I paid was almost $4 more per meal x 5 meals. Asked mgr for a price adjustment and or cancel and erring at lower prices and he said he didn't know how to do it. Went to app to find contact number and the number just called this same mgr. noticed on app it says something about DoorDash but I didn't order off of app but the website and it did not mention anything about an up charge for DoorDash , even though I picked it up. Emailed customer service and they did not respond. Not only overcharged over $20 but then get ghosted. Will fill complaint with attorney general in violation of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act . read more

Came in to try this spot after hearing it's better than canes, had to find out for myself. Inside was clean, staff was friendly, plenty of indoor seating. I went for a 4 finger combo, and the kicker here is that they have spicy fingers. They were seasoned well and had a great kick to em. The toast was on par with cane's and the fries were significantly better. I would come back solely for the spicy fingers and the sauce. read more

This one is exactly like the others with only difference being the gravy is amazing and the spicy tenders don't rip a hole in your insides so 10/10 there. So we had discovered Layne's when going to visit the national video game museum and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately there isn't one right by us. When we came to use our pogo pass at Hawaiian falls I had looked up places to eat nearby and found out that this location was nearby so decide to stop. Place seemed clean enough, this was my first time actually eating in a laynes. Last time we had ate in the car on the way home cause we had a long drive back home. Staff was helpful as well. It took a little while to get our food but when it came out it was fresh, so worth the wait! Hopefully next time we're in the area we can try them a again! read more

I've been to College Station many times, and Layne's Chicken Fingers is a place I ALWAYS visit when I'm there. I love seeing Layne's in DFW because they're growing, and it's something to be happy about. Though I have love for Layne's, I was disappointed in the order I received from Layne's Chicken Fingers. I wanted my significant other's family to try Layne's for the first time, so we decided to order individual boxes. We ordered 1x 5 Fingered Original, 1x 4 Finger Meal, and 2x 3 Finger Meal. Let's start with the mistake that made me upset. Instead of receiving what we ordered, we received 4x 3 Finger Meal -- that's a whopping 3 chicken fingers that were missing from our boxes, when each individual chicken finger costs around $1.25. Moving onto the food... the food wasn't hot. We live about 5 minutes away from Layne's so it wasn't a long time between Layne's and when we began eating. The fries were a bit dry, and our chicken tenders were small in comparison to what we usually would receive at the Layne's in College Station. As much as I love Layne's, I might not come to this location again. It was a complete disappointment, and frankly, a rip-off due to the amount of chicken we received. read more

The best drive thru chicken strips in the area. I love the laynes signature sauce and always add on a side of homemade ranch. It's the perfect dipping sauce combo for the spicy chicken strips. We would often go to the 'other' very similar chicken tender place, but I prefer Laynes. Gravy! The fries are crispier, the sauce has more flavor, the bread is buttery, and the shakes are fantastic! Second time we've had this place. Reminds me a lot of Cane's chicken (I bet they get that a lot). The food was okay, probably more deserving of the 3-4 star. However, it took 45 minutes to get our food, and it was at least 80 degrees inside the restaurant. I think they have potential with some minor changes. As an Aggie living in DFW, I love seeing Layne's spread across the metroplex. This is the closest one to us so far, so we went slightly out of our way to get our Layne's fix. It did not disappoint. The fries are always perfectly salty and crispy. My husband remarked that it might be the most moist fried chicken he's ever had. I always get an extra Layne's sauce and use it for fries, chicken and toast. It's peppery and savory and the perfect compliment to their food. I dropped thru the drive thru the other day and ordered their 3 finger combo. I got a side of potato salad as well. The fingers were decent. Pretty comparable to that other place that specializes in fingers. The fries were ok. It felt like the bread got salted just before it got pushed out the window to me. That's pretty much my standard order at a finger place. Layne's goes above and beyond with a chicken club sandwich, grilled cheese for those who don't partake in chicken and hand spun shakes. There are some options. I gave it a 4 stars for my first time thru. I do have a finger joint closer to the house I will come back over to Layne's for another try. I stopped by Layne's after a recommendation from a friend. I got 3 spicy tenders (a la carte) and a sauce. I got to the window and they told me my total was $11.24. I verified my order because that seemed high. Employee said yes and asked if I wanted to get the meal instead because it was about the same price. I've never been, but did not want a full meal. I figured maybe I misread the menu/prices at the drive thru. I paid and left. Something still didn't sit right with the price. I went online and looked and my order should've been closer to $6-$7. Not sure if the employee was adding on something for them to eat or what, but it was very dishonest . I won't be returning. Discovered Layne's after finding the Burger Street next door closed long before their posted closing hours on a Saturday night. The Customer Service at Drive-Thru was excellent. Kudo's to the young lady wearing Argyle High shirt that served us! The Chicken Tenders were large, very good crust, and tasted more like peeling white meat off a fresh chicken breast. Very pleasing. Absolutely loved the lemonade, tasted just like what you get at the State Fair booths freshly made. Have already returned for more. Same positive results and experience here. read more
