The food on our visit was great. The problem is the customer service. We arrived at 7:52 and they close at 9. We got tea to drink and sat down to wait for our food. While waiting they came and took the tea away. I asked them about refills for the tea and they said they took it back because they were about to close. I pointed out that they closed in an hour. They agreed and said that is when they have to take the tea back to clean. If I walk in as a customer I should have access to everything on the menu- especially an hour before closing time. read more

We placed a pickup order and did not receive a combo (soup and drink) plus two cookies. One of our sandwiches was wrong, but at least we got it. Online customer service would only give us points, no money and escalated us to customer service, which is pretty worthless. Four emails later, we were sent back to the store which was just as worthless. The manager told my husband he couldn't refund the items because we used a coupon. He offered to "give" my husband the drink but offered no other resolution. Mistakes happen, but how a company deals with these mistakes is more important. Judging from some of the other more recent reviews, this location should probably be avoided. At least make sure to double-check your order because after hours of stupidity you will be disputing the order charge with your bank. read more

I am in my first trimester and I'm sure many of you mothers and fathers know how important food is right now, I was having a really rough night and just wanted a simple Italian sandwich with no tomatoes or onions. The smell of those just make me gag. The sandwich I got not only had everything that makes me gag on it but it wasn't even an Italian sandwich. It had ham cheese and beacon. Unlike the people that work here I am not illiterate and clearly read the description and am just so confused how they could add everything I asked not to add and not even put the correct meats in. I prefer warm sandwiches over cold, so this restaurant is one of my faves when I'm in the mood. They consistently provide fresh subs, made exactly how I want, and the atmosphere is great! However, the problem I keep having (which is why I deducted a star) is speed of service! I will have to start ordering ahead from now on because the last time I visited it took over 30 mns. I have been an infrequent customer at this location even though it is very close to me. The wait times are terrible. I'm not talking about there's a line out the door and internet orders are printing out constantly. In my experience, if I'm the only one there it's a good 10 min. If any other customers are ahead of me, at least 30 min. The store is so so, but never really feels like they clean well. The food is mediocre but it's a sub shop. The prices are quite high. Employees obviously don't care to be there. I've never seen any of them acting polite or welcoming to any customer and sometimes they are just rude. Today I ordered a turkey bacon ranch sub to go. When I got home i discovered it contained neither bacon nor ranch (was also missing cheese). I ate it because I didn't have another 30+ min to go back. Spent $15 for this meal. My wife decided on a small "Turkey Ranch Bacon" and I went for the "Italian." Both of us ordered our sandwiches "all the way" with seasoning and all the veggies. Both of us chose wheat bread. I love SPICY and I was very impressed with the huge selection of bottled hot sauces. Each one had a number on it to indicate the "hotness" level. I had also grabbed a chipotle hot sauce with a number "7" on it. I wanted to spice up my sandwich a bit. Next time I want to try "Captain Sorensen's Datil Pepper Hot Sauce," their signature hot sauce. It's supposed to be spicy with a hint of sweetness. My wife has high standards when it comes to sub sandwiches, she's real picky and was a little be reluctant to try a new sub place. After a short wait, my name was called out and our subs were brought to our table. The subs looked amazing. Firehouse doesn't skip on their meats, cheese, and veggies. After the first bite, both of us smiled real big and said WOW! My Italian was incredible, their creamy Italian dressing was delicious. The hot sauce I put on the sandwich added just enough zing to make it interesting. My wife also loved her sandwich but did say they put a bit too much Ranch dressing on it for her taste. We both decided we have a new favorite submarine sandwich shop! We're going to have to find out where the other locations are close to our home. We can't wait to come back again real soon. I ordered a very simple sandwich but once they gave it to me I opened it and noticed it was made wrong so I walked up to the counter to explain and a different worker rudely cut me off and said she just needed my receipt and grabbed it out of my hand. No apology or anything. I waited over 5 minutes for her to remake it, then she just left it on the counter and I had to ask if it was mine. Once again it was made wrong but at this point I didn't want to deal with asking them to make it correctly and decided to just leave. But they refused to take my order and told me that it was at least a 49 minute wait because they had 9 tickets in front of me all with multiple orders on each ticket. Ive never been to a Firehouse Sub before... went one night and ate inside. First of all.. the prices are RIDICULOUS! They are way to proud of there sandwiches. I ordered a cup of potato soup (LOL) there was literally no potatoes in it at all, the lady was scraping the bottom of the soup dish.. why not just say "we are out of that?" I asked for the chili instead, which was ok. My sandwich was good, but small and paid almost $20 for a sandwich, soup and drink. Wow, I might actually be the first review for this peticular location. Kinda surprising since it's been around for quite some time and I have been going there for at least over a year. Foursquare was nice to me with this shop. I used to be the "Mayor" and got subs pretty cheap there. Anyways, this like all other chain sub shops gets you good food in their unique way. They steam their meats and cheeses and with pretty good results. On this occasion I tried their limited time Pork and Slaw sandwich on the King's Hawaiian roll. It was crispy, salty and sweet and with some of Firehouse's Datil Hot sauce even better. I have had most everything off the menu and the corned beef and pastrami "New York Steamer" sandwich is one of my favorites. The food is filling and can be a bit messy at times, but that just makes you want to lick your fingers. The one different thing about them is no hot peppers, they have a selection (a pretty big one) of hot sauces to choose from. Mild to pure evil. It's a good option if you happen to be by one.
