We absolutely love this place and they have "the best" Birriea tacos in the metroplex! Tonight we changed it up and tried the Birriea nachos and quesabirriea. The nachos were huge but absolutely the best nachos I've ever eaten in my life. Their Birriea meat is so tasty and packed full of flavor. My wife had to help me eat the nachos because it was so huge. The menu has plenty of options to choose from, but they're best known for their birria meat and tacos. The pichana caught our eye as a shareable option: 8 ounces of perfectly seared and seasoned medium rare beef, along with cilantro lime rice, pinto beans, and blue sopes trio consisting of beef, chicken, and al pastor pork toppings--absolutely delicious. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the owner, who was incredibly friendly. He asked if it was our first time, and when we said yes, he brought us samples of their birria beef. It was unbelievably tender and seasoned perfectly. After some great conversation, we ordered, grabbed our number, and sat down. We ordered four dishes for five people, the loaded birria nachos, birria tacos, quesabirria, and the birria mac and cheese. Every single item was fresh, flavorful, and filling. We were all full by the end. The meat was fall-apart tender, the consommé was outstanding, and the salsa had just the right amount of heat without overpowering anything. The mac and cheese was rich, cheesy, and cooked perfectly. The restaurant itself was spotless and clearly well cared for. This is a family-run business, and that shows in the best way. I totally understand how Avila upgraded to a full restaurant from their food truck days. Yes, the food was wonderful. Yes, the upbeat service was phenomenal. And yes, the whole time we were there, it was a revolving door of non-stop pleased customers. The owner was incredibly friendly and even came out to chat with me, which made the experience feel personal and welcoming. A surprising standout for me was the salsa verde -- honestly the best I've ever had. I'll be ordering extra next time without question. The food looked delicious and the ratings were even better. My sister and I decided to give it a whirl & OMGEEE!!! First, the customer service was AWE-MAZING!! I do not play about customer service and Jose was cheerful, comical and warm. I loved his disposition & his wife, Maribel, was a peach. The smile she had on her face serving customers their food and cooking the food was so refreshing. I can tell she genuinely loves what she does and it comes across in the food. This location takes so much pride in the presentation and flavoring of their dishes. We were given samples of the birria as we were first-time patrons. It was so dang good!! The salsa bar didn't disappoint either!! That mango salsa was delicious!! The side of queso, elote, fries, burrito and chips were all DELICIOUS!!! So much food!! I've had many birria experiences and the consume is either a hit or miss, in this case it is a hit! Every bite was the perfect bite with their ratio of meat and cheese. Lightly grilled with a nice portion of consume and delicious green sauce that has a kick but is not overly spicy. This family owned brick and mortar is from the popular food truck you've likely had or seen around Keller. Just like the food truck you can expect kind and quick service (seriously quick I waited less than five minutes for my to-go order) and scrumptious eats. The brick and mortar gives you an opportunity to sit down in the casual dining room. It is fast food-ish in the way you first order and pay, they give you a number, the food is brought to your table and you dispose trash in the bin. My tacos ( comes with 3) were about $17 after tax. The moment we walked in we were greeted with smiling face and the employee, who I assume is the owner, was so happy and eager for us to try their beef that he gave us a free sample and it was delicious. The menu is simple, but enough for everyone ti be happy. We had tacos and they were amazing! We had the birria and carne asada Tacos along with queso, and accidentally, the street corn dip. What an amazing accident! The street corn dip was something special! Seriously, everything was delicious. We were there for a late lunch so we didn't have to wait, but I have heard from an employee that it can get really busy, which makes sense given how good the food is.
