Pretty disappointed. I noted on my order, called ahead, and even triple-checked when picking up that there'd be no sesame because I have an allergy. Got home and both kimchi fries had sesame seeds on them. I called to ask for a refund and the manger became argumentative and I was told it wasn't their fault and that they would only partially refund me. Since the movie theater had a power outage. We decided to pivot for some sushi and ramen. In searching from between grapevine and Saginaw, we we found a place called Poke Stop. The pictures seemed to hit all the spots and after double checking on here, we decided to go! Very glad we did! It's a small spot inside a strip mall (which by the way had everything you could want, food wise) but is clean and well lit. The staff was super friendly and the service was quick. It was pretty packed when we went as well as a continuous line of to go orders, and there was still no delays in my service or food. Everything was superb! We had some of the delicious appetizers, the calamari and the kimchi fries. All piping hot when served. My husband got the spicy ramen and I built my own poke bowl. The ramen was flavorful and filling, the broth was thick and hearty. The poke bowl was huge! The bowl looks small, but it's a thin bowl so the content capacity was massive. So many fresh cubes of fish and plentiful heaps of the toppings. Although we were upset about our cancelled plans. We're so glad to have stumbled upon this place that is closer to home! The tonkatsu broth was fine but lacked depth. It was one note the entire way through. The pork was offputting enough to make me wish that I had excluded it from my order entirely. The calamari had the most potential but was about 90% overcooked. We managed to find 2 rings that didn't come out like jerky. I just found my new favorite place. Once again I've been missing out on such a hidden gem that I've overlooked. Make sure you have a mask. They are insisting on wearing when you walk in but by no way does it take away from the food or experience. The staff here is super friendly and helpful. I've never really had ramen like this. So it was pretty good but bland. I had to add chili oil. I got the Tonkotsu ramen, grandson loves ramen and he got miso xtra spicy. So about 5 pieces. The photos in other reviews show wasabi, ginger, and lots of goodies on top of sushi, and normal nice plates. Ours didn't have any of that. Super bummed out. Also it was 45-59 degrees outside and they had the air conditioning blasting. With vents over all the tables there was no where to hide. When we asked if they could turn it up, they said it was 74 degrees. Ummm ya no. 64 maybe. Probably warmer in kitchen area then in dining area. Waitress 4 stars. The Spicy Ahi is my go-to whenever I'm craving poke! I've been going here for YEARS! From the outside, this place doesn't look like much, but the food is worth a stop. We started with the gyoza, which was very good. The orange marmalade had a good amount of heat to it and the dumplings were fried perfectly. I had the Shoyu Ramen, which was also very good. The broth was really flavorful, lots of scallions (my preference), and the pork was cooked very well. I opted for the spicy Shoyu, which probably my only slight complaint was wishing it was a little spicier. BUT, definitely did not detract at all from the deliciousness and flavor. I opted for a bowl on the menu, which came with tuna, salmon, edamame, peppers, and rice. Portion was a bit smaller than I had expected.. pictures shown on the menu was far more substantial than what you actually get. The salmon tasted fresh, but the tuna definitely felt a bit older and sinewy. Could be the time of day/week I went, but took a little bit away from the bowl. On a rainy day when you're craving ramen... yum. This really hits the spot. On a regular day when you want to eat healthy, have some poke! Cut fresh when you order! Or like me, have both in one sitting!!! I've tried a lot of tonkotsu ramen, I think this is one of my favorites. It has a lot of rich flavors. I could drink all the broth. The chasu is big cuts and most of the time soft. I think once it was a little burnt. You get a whole egg in this bowl. You'd think that would be a given, but it's not. Some places jip you of your egg. I also love the corn they have in this ramen bowl. I don't see that often, but I do love the corn addition. Poke- another fresh favorite of mine! You can choose from their selections or create your own bowl. I like to create mine and pick my sauces. I do have to say the sauces are a hit and miss sometimes. Definitely don't like the sweet chili sauce- Too sweet. But I do like the shoyu or ponzu sauce. The fish cuts are fresh and cut when you order. I know in Hawaii, they're usually already marinated in batches in diff sauces. But this makes it nice if you like lightly sauced , And you are not limited too the fish of the day. The service is nice. They recognize me and my friend coming in now even though it's been 3x. This little place is gaining popularity. When we first came, there wasn't a lot of full tables. So I've never had a poke bowl before. Nor has my wife. We've had more than our fair share of sushi and sashimi, but never this Hawaiian version of raw fish. So what exactly is a poke bowl? Google tells me this, "Poke means "to slice or cut" in Hawaiian and refers to chunks of raw, marinated fish -- usually tuna -- which is then tossed over rice and topped with vegetables and umami-packed sauces." Sounds pretty yummy, and it was. Poke Stop is a cute, intimate, place. On our Friday night visit, it was a mostly Asian crowd. Coupled with the frosted front windows, I could easily forget I was in Fort Worth, Texas. After looking over the menu (and spotting the free egg-roll offer for a Facebook check-in, sorry Yelp!), we selected the following: Spicy Ahi - Spicy Tuna Mix, Krab, Avocado, Seaweed Salad, Futokaki, Masago, Scallion, Nori, Fried Onion (Spicy Mayo, Eel Sauce) on White Rice - $12 Atlantis - Spicy Salmon Mix, Mango, Jalapeno, Cilantro, Tomato, Cucumber, White Sesame Seeds, Tempura Flakes (House Chili, Sesame Oil, Ponzu And Hawaiian Sea Salt on White Rice - $12 Both very good. Great melding of flavors. Price for quantity seemed a little, but not crazy high. Godzilla attacking Dallas is a cool mural. Thankfully not Fort Worth, yet. One so-so visit + one fantastic visit = 4 stars. First and foremost: the wasabi crusted salmon roll. YOU MUST. Fresh cooked salmon, nice crunch without being overwhelming or greasy. This was one of the best sushi rolls I have ever had (though it needed a bit of soy sauce at the table). Second: the egg rolls. Normally such a throwaway, right? Not these. Packed with minced pork, shatteringly crisp, and served with an orange dipping sauce. I feel like I could make a meal out of about a dozen. Also recommended: the tonkotsu ramen. It's not perfect. The broth is delicious, but not quite rich enough and not served piping hot. And I would have preferred the curly ramen noodles to the straight but that's a personal preference. However, the pork was suuuper flavorful and plentiful and the egg was nice and soft to nearly gooey. The one mediocre item I've had, funny enough, is the poke bowl. I built my own and thought I did a nice, simple job of it so I could appreciate the fish. But nothing tasted spectacular and it just felt skimpy and bland. However, I will give them another shot and try a signature bowl, just like I did with Below 40, where I ended up liking their house bowls much more than my build your own. Prices are okay, maybe on the slightly high end. Service was... well, the first time, I got a to-go order and the people who helped me at the counter were so cranky and disengaged it actually stood out to me. I don't know. Maybe they were having an off night. But the second time, when I dined in, everyone was super friendly! Every single person. On a fine Wednesday afternoon, I brought my lunch to work and when it came down to heating it up, my coworker asked me if I wanted to go out for lunch. I put my lunch back into the fridge and I NEVER looked back. Upon arrival, it is TEENY TINY with maybe 7 tables. It's very narrow! We were greeted immediately which I love. They cleared off a table and sat us down and asked us what we wanted to drink. I had no idea they had ramen and saw several people around me had ordered ramen on a hot Texas summer day. I love ramen and was so tempted to order it but decided to stick with a poke bowl since it's in the name! I didn't want to be one of those people who order chicken at a steakhouse! My friend ordered the hybrid bowl and I ordered the Spicy Ahi bowl. No regrets on either of those. We also got an order of the spicy edamame. Yum yum yum!
