My wife and I enjoyed brunch here last weekend. The breakfast tacos were great, the breakfast burrito was too heavy on the beans, but good taste and size. My partner grew up around here and had always talked about Don Taco. So when we came to visit, I had to try it for myself! Let me just say that this absolutely lived up to the hype. I love the casual vibe and the service was wonderful. We ordered the chicken chimichanga, an al pastor taco, and a carnitas taco along with an order of guac and chips. The chimichanga and al pastor taco were incredible! The carnitas taco was also good but not as flavorful as the al pastor. There is a reason why all the high rated reviews and also why Don Taco has been here for a long time. It's simply because they serve amazing food. Quick service as I ordered my food to go via the website that I found using Yelp. Was able to pay using ApplePay. A huge plus in my book. I don't feel like searching for my credit card and typing in all that information to order food. We must keep supporting the family businesses like this. Not only that but my Tortilla Soup was the best I've ever had and I took it to go. I only had to travel by The Bluffs to stop and eat it but still. The chicken in the tortilla soup was to die for. You could taste the grilled perfection in the chicken. Also there was no gristle in the chicken all tender white meat chicken. Which is what I want in a soup like this. Something easy to eat and delicious. I was feeling under the weather and I needed a really good soup to pick me up. I'm glad I chose to order from Don Taco. When I walked in I was promptly greeted. this place is more like a 3.5 out of 5 stars. Been here twice and got the below items: sour cream chicken enchiladas verdes chicken enchiladas Combo Nachos al pastor burrito brisket taco (choice of corn or flour) I really enjoyed the enchiladas, and out of the two, the sour cream one was the better of the two. if you get a plate, it'll come with rice and beans. The burrito was decently sized and the nachos were ok, i wish they used more cheese to cover more of the chips. We also got a michelada and i'm not sure what base they use (in house or calmato), but it was really good. They also have liquor, so you can get mixed drinks or shots here. I will be honest, I don't like having to call in orders these days because I'm worried I won't know what to order (the sides and sauces etc). That being said, the man that answered the phone was actually really helpful! He made sure to answer my questions thoroughly and was quite friendly! And it was super easy to see where to go as there's a red tent and a curbside sign at the entry door. We just let them know we were there and they brought our food right out. The food tasted way better than I expected, loved how the fajita burrito was so filling. The enchilada surprised me the most though as I was hesitant to even order it. Had lunch on the patio. Everything was fresh and really good. Family owned business that you can tell have cooked Mexican food often and well. I got the al carbon beef plate and the husband got a beef tostada with two street tacos. We split a charro bean and chips and salsa. I also had a mango margarita. The chips were crispy fresh and warm. The charro beans were outstay. Everything we got was well seasoned and fresh. We will be back. They do a breakfast on the weekends. Do not go for the Shrimp cocktail if you are looking for traditional Mexican Coctel de Camarones. Their rendition was the WORST I've ever experienced. The sauce tasted like it was made mostly of ketchup and so sweet that there wasn't even a hint of spicy like it should've been. I had to add a ton of Tapatio for any spice and it was still overwhelmingly sweet. The shrimp texture felt like these were entirely undercooked or thrown in raw with the expectation that it'd be "cooked" like in a ceviche. I'm giving two stars only because their other dishes are better. This one needs a new recipe or to be removed entirely. read more

We stop in for dinner after our daughter's swim lessons. We walked in the restaurant was open and clean. The menu is on a large board to side so if it's your first time as it was for us you have plenty of time to look over the menu without holding up the line to order. The food was good and it was great portion size. They offer a great children's menu which includes fries and chicken tenders for little ones so it's not so messy. Here's the deal with this place. It's awesome. Plain and simple. If you get the chance, go. I don't give five stars very often but Don Taco deserves it. I've never had a bad meal here. I've gone there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Great all the time. I used to go there frequently when I lived near there. Now that I live 9 hours south, when I make a trip to DFW, Don Taco is a must stop. This last time that I was there, I had the beef taco bowl. My wife had the shrimp taco bowl. They were both fantastic. And you won't find these two things on the menu. They are listed on the counter right in front of the cash register. The chicken taco bowl is most excellent too. It's my fav of all three. They also have a dish that has two or three flautas covered in a salad. That's on the menu that's in front of the cash register. Oh. My. God. That's damn good. So when you go, take a look at the menu that's on the wall to the right. But I also strongly suggest that you look at the four or five selections that are in front of the cash register.
