After dumping Sam's, I needed another "giant box" store. It's a convenient time saver for me to grab large quantities of dry goods at decent prices. I also like that Costco offers shipping to my house with no added fees (dry goods; not fresh groceries). The store is huge and it is difficult to find items, but a plus is that they carry a lot of organic and all natural products, including a lot of organic produce. I wish they had more organic frozen foods. Customer service has been friendly when I've interacted with employees. The store has always been neat and clean. The parking lot is huge. They also have a gas station at this location, but it's been super busy the few times I've been here. There is a hot food area with the regular expected "fast food, bad for the body" items. This is a solid Costco. I didn't add more stars b/c the store is difficult to navigate and I'd like to see more organic and healthier options in the refrigerator and frozen cases. read more

I'm a former member of Costco who let the membership lapse for over a decade, only recently rejoining under pressure from my lovely other half who has Costco-cult friends who shop here all the time. After a recent visit in which she came home with three trees that were $25 each and patio furniture at a great price, heat to join went up. When we realized we needed new tires for our vehicle we decided to pull the trigger. The membership process was pretty painless, and they have a deal where they will refund the membership if you spend under a certain amount in the first year. After three months, we have not been back. My self analysis is that I'm just not the person that needs another store that I only spend in if I visit. Costco is full of items like this, great deals, treasure-hunt finds, seasonal things. We found a replacement for our kitchen trash can that we like, for instance. But, I will never do my grocery shopping for our three member household here. Even if we had a larger household, they don't have everything we need. And, the prices are good, but not as good as Winco, which does have everything we need. I also don't get the excitement about the counter service food which is State Fair / ballpark level, IMHO. Thought it is certainly cheap. The tables were gross and the "mocha" drink I tried extremely basic. The tire center was pretty good, though they suffer horribly from under staffing. The guys who help customers also install, check out, and manage the phones. So, even though I had an appointment I was interrupted multiple times by incoming calls that stopped down my conversation with the installer who was explaining my options. Seriously have someone who just does phones, someone who just checks out, and let the installers install. This seems like a huge process issue for a brand with this reputation. Overall the store is clean and easy to navigate. check out is pretty quick, and it has a lot of fun things to look at. But for me, the need to be a member and come here to discover things to spend on that I might not otherwise is not a draw. read more

The most amazing thing happened this week. I received a call from Zara, a manager for Costco. The reason for the call was not specified on the message left, but I called a day later. When I called, Zara was not available, so I was referred to another manager who informed me that I was overcharged for a purchase I made. I had no clue as for what item nor was I told. I asked, "How much?" The response, "Eighty-seven dollars and some change." Holy Toledo Batman! I was moved by the integrity of the company's management team to inform me of such a significant amount. I was told I could pick it up at anytime. Feedback to management team: When I showed up to pick up the refund three days later there was a significant delay. The manager I spoke to over the phone ensured there was no rush to collect and that he would not note the account with a block on my account to remind me when I checked out the next time I shopped that there is a refund awaiting me. Well the account was not noted, Zara, nor the manager I spoke with over the phone (name unknown) was unavailable, so I had to wait twenty minutes for the manager on call Friday to figure out what I was speaking of since I had nothing noted in my account. I could only provide one name and a partial amount for the refund. The manager on call that day was patient and thorough on his search for answers and a strong desire to assist me. He eventually went to a back office to see if there was any documentation there to assist with my inquiry. Mystery solved. He found the needed information. This inconvenience was not enough to cause me to rate this review low because of the integrity and determination shown to assist me. This Costco is huge compared to the one by my house in Pflugerville, TX. However, for it being so large I was shocked at how compact some of the areas were. It's super busy and so many people just shopping here. Maneuvering around was a pain and you could see the frustration on every other shoppers face of just trying to where you're needing to go in this Costco. As with all Costco the stuff you actually need is in the very back for frozen foods, vegetables, and meat. I came to this Costco to buy some beef Choice Rib-eye whole boneless. The pricing on these is way cheaper if you're planning on buying a lot of steaks compared to the individual packaging. Finding the check out area was wondering through a maze to get there. The checkout area doesn't really make sense for the amount of people shopping at this Costco. I believe the self check out could be bigger so when you're checking out you have more space between you and another shopper. The gas station was pretty awesome and plenty of rows to wait your turn. I love getting fuel from Costco. It's way cheaper than going to the gas stations on the local area for sure. Over all my experience was alright, but man did this Costco get my anxiety going. We were finding that Kroger and Walmart were consistently out of items we needed, and honestly it was adding up when we have to drive store to store looking for grocery items. We have discovered that we are actually saving money with Costco, not everything is in bulk! Milk, eggs, etc. So the food does not go to waste if you check dates and make sure your family will go through it, or else share with your neighbors! We LOVE getting our salmon, beef and chicken from here. The meats are so fresh! Also, I buy my water from here and it's cheapest I've found. The weekends are PACKED with people. We have visited right when they open and in the middle of the day, there's not a better time tbh. I imagine during the week and in the morning would be better, but I don't have the luxury of being able to make the trip at that time. I've always preferred Costco over Sam's Club. Both have their own brands but Costco doesn't seem to push there's over others as much as the competitor does. They always have a lot of good deals on name brand items as well. This is the one place we can find my beloved Famous Daves Pickles and the large 10 pack of Annies Mac & Cheese, both worth the small price they ask. They always have some monster sized pies in the back where the bakery is, always good. The fruits are usually fresh and there is a separate room for some of it. read more

Don't come here on a Sunday! Everybody and there Mama is there! Despite the crowd we were able to find a quick parking. Greeter seemed unenthusiastic. Shopping carts were everywhere and alot of people don't even bother saying excuse me? But, we managed to get by. They have a great selection of name brand clothes like Adidas, Champion, Realtree. Costco also has a nice furniture selection. They have everything you need in one stop. No need to travel to the Pharmacy, the Mexican meat market, or the Optometrist, it's all right inside Costco! read more

Just when we thought good customer service was a thing of the past, Sky and Mike from Costco, North Fort Worth showed us differently. My husband and I had driven out to Plano from Fort Worth for a chair, as we were told there were several on hand, yet when we arrived within the hour, we were told there were none. I had already called North FW the previous day and was told they had two of the same, but was told by an associate they could not find them. The following day, I tried again and Sky said she'd walk the floor and would call me back. She found it and she did call me back. When my husband arrived for the chair, he said that Sky and Mike treated him as if he were a VIP. Sky went to get him a flatbed. 10/21/22: It's Costco. What's not to love? Despite all of the freeway construction getting here, I prefer this location over Southlake. Overall, there's less crowds & parking is easier here. This location has gas (today, when writing my review, it was $2.87), a tire center, optometrist & liquor store. Their food court is indoors right past the checkout area. You self order/pay then pick up your food. There are also several self-checkout manned by a worker. I just ask him to use the scanner to go beep beep with our purchases. The workers here are friendlier than at the Southlake location. I like the huge ceiling fan they have. It made shopping here when it was hot, bearable. PRO TIP: bring a hoodie. Costco is great at time for prices. Sometimes the items are way marked up but you think you are getting a great deal because you are buying in bulk. Certain items like:milk, bread, eggs, vegetables and fruit are not a great price. Ground beef is a must buy at Costco. I would avoid Sunday shopping at Costco. It is way to busy. Costco oh Costco. I think I have a love hate relationship with this wonderful but sucks you into the vortex of take all your money store. Pros of this location. 1) always well stocked. 2) always clean. 3) employees eager to help if you need it. 4) they have their sampler people back out most days (even though I don't get them) they're there for those that do. 5) 2 self checkout lanes for 15 or 20 items or less I forget which it is. 6) has a liquor store attached. Cons of this location. 1) Always packed, unless you go when it 1st opens this place is like a rat race. Weekends forget about it! You will need lots of patience, Xanax, & visit the liquor store 1st if you go on the weekends. 2) lines are always long (due to the store being packed) they can go pretty fast for the most part, just prepare yourself. 3) getting out after the line is another rat race because then your pushed into the people ordering food & eating it, people coming out of the other lines, people at customer service, people trying to get you to buy products, then the line to get out to make sure you paid for it all. Would like to suggest you take great care to protect yourself from Covid at this location. They do dot seem to have consistent cleaning and sanitation procedures in place OR is it just consistency among associates. That points to poor training - "management issue" . So take and wet wipe with you and wipe the cart down yourself. Then make sure you arrange your UPC barcodes up. Insist the associate not touch your items. They touch dozens of peoples items and you do not know if others have something that you do not want. Self checkout would be preferred. Not really an option here. My observation is to much cross contamination taking place here. read more

For Christmas, my wife urged me to pick out a new office Chair for our Den. I was happy to do so as the one I have is so warn out it looks like a worn out recliner. I did some surfin' on line and settled on a LazyBoy from Costco. I was excited when I came to the house so quickly, but not so happy when I saw the box. It was ripped, punctured, holds in it in absolutely poor shape. I took pictures before I opened it. The instructions said to lay out all the parts and account for them before attempting to put them together. I did and sure glad I did because a chunk of wood was out of the base where the casters attached. I call a costco rep and asked what to do. They said I did not need to re-box it so I put all the small parts in a midsize box, and put the 3 large pieces in a 55 gallon Construction bag. It was returned to the Store that we always use in Tehoma shopping center, I received a full value card that I turned around and ordered another. It is to be here Saturday. Looking forward to it. This has been a great experience. We used a Costco before we moved to Texas but it was 81 miles from the house. This one is about 14. We buy our tires, paper goods, party needs, meats and lots of other items and are so happy to have a company with Integrity to do business with. read more

This review is long overdue. I was thrilled when this location opened up a few years ago right near my home. It's easy for me to make quick trips after work during the week to avoid the busy weekends. Costco is not just for families. I personally stock up on everyday household essentials such as trash bags, shampoo, bathroom tissue, and bottled water ($2.99 for a 40 count pack yo!). I've also picked up desserts from their awesome bakery to bring over to a dinner or event. Costco cheesecake is sinfully delicious. Let's not forget about their food court. Extra large pizza for $10 whether you get pepperoni, cheese, or combo (supreme). I know what you're thinking. Why would you get just cheese if you can get a combo for the same price? Don't dog the cheese pizza. It's bomb! The crust has a nice chew to it too. But equally great is the hot dog deal. A buck fifty for a big beefy dog with a drink. Love this location, great collection of clothes always. It's right on frontage road of i35 highway so easily accessible. And very close to where I live. Love their wine collection and food sampling. I always go for 1 item and end up buying 10 (LOL) after those samplings. Today's visit was to explore washer and dryers. And after checking the great collection, i ended up spending $55 on some stuff i never planned to buy. Also, love their premier protien deals and all vitamins and minerals. They do not do passport pictures, the closest Costco to me that does Pp pics is in Lewisville. I wish they start it here. Their cafeteria, pizza and berry parfait are my favorite. The combination of shopping at Costco and a regular grocery is fantastic. Costco's packaging portions are not always practical to a household, but when it is, and when you can basically have the extra space to handle your own "warehousing", it can be fantastic. Perishables is usually not useful to us from here. What I find is that it doesn't "actually" cost less to buy here than a normal grocery, it's just that you get like twice as much for a similar pricepoint. So, if you don't have the room to store surplus, it isn't something you can benefit from. Anyway, this particular location is pretty much like any others. I hardly notice distinctions between locations, they're all pretty samey, in a good way. read more

Sometimes there's some nice deals, but not many. Mostly overpriced and overpackaged so-called premium items with maybe 3% knocked off the regular prices. The worst thing about this place is the visible employees that act as if they're locked in some hellhole. There are good ones, but there are a few that don't even try to hide their absolute disdain for customers. If this was the original Price Club, they'd be working somewhere else by now or on the dole. They all seem inordinately stressed, so I suspect the problem is with the store manager. The beef is iffy - it can be prime or choice, but half the time the cuts are done incorrectly - often the grain of the beef is cut in such a way that the meat feels mealy. The preparation- is usually much too bloody, but one time the meat was so desiccated a ribeye steak was a pinkish white color. But they do take it back if you return it. If you want good meat, go to a butcher or Central Market, Costco meats are too inconsistent. And never, ever buy Kirkland batteries, they just don't last very long, if they work at all. . Indoor furniture- overpriced low quality stuff only. Returning furniture, especially from Costco.com, is a nightmare too - Costco.com doesn't even care about customer service anymore, those days are long gone. I think some of the employees in the store act poorly, but the phone customer service for Costco.com is the WORST. They have good return policies, but more times than not, it involves sparring with a cs agent that doesn't want to honor the policy- probably incentivized to turn a return request into an item the customer keeps. Don't expecti the delivery service to do anything besides dump unassembled items on your floor or driveway and leave- because they use Ceva for deliveries and they are the bottom feeders of residential delivery services. Costco lets you know that it's not their problem, it's a delivery company problem, and yet they're using the same delivery services for years, in spite of all the complaints. Do some price checking before assuming that the Costco price is a good deal. read more

This location has by far the worst costumer service I've ever experienced. I have been to this location multiple times now and almost every single time have dealt with something from the staff. Earlier this month I was in line for check out, my purse was in the cart and was opened because I grabbed my wallet to get my membership card. My husband was loading the last of the stuff on to the belt and I glanced down out my kids and went I looked back up I saw the young man that was helping the cashier look inside my purse! Used his finger to open it slightly and look inside! When I said something and grabbed my purse he completely ignored me and spent the rest of the time I was there trying to talk to co-workers near by. Then the cashier miscounted my cash and insisted I didn't give her enough money! I told her that's impossible because I gave her $280 (the bill was $270 something) and of course once she did recount she admitted she was wrong. Maybe just recount it next time and not give the customer attitude? Especially when I'm already upset about your coworker invading my privacy. The next time I went in I decided to use self checkout - it was a small basket and I did not want to deal with anyone that works there. But sure enough there was yet another staff member with an attitude holding up the line because she needed to check everyone's membership card prior to waking up to the self checkout where you SCAN YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD. Of course she was incredibly rude about it when people attempted to just walk right up to the check out like we are all used to doing. These are just two recent encounters that really bothered me but I've had too many to count rude encounters with staff. I mean, I understand that there are two places that you are guaranteed to deal with crappy people - airports and Costco - I don't know why everyone is instantly cranky when entering one of these buildings but if the staff was courteous people wouldn't be so cranky or at least the people that came in happy would leave happy too. read more

I love Costco. For instance I needed a new carpet cleaner because every time I buy an expensive 300$ Hoover it will start leaking in a couple of years. I got sick of it. Due to Costco's return policy I decided to spend my money there. I got a bissell pet pro 2x for 229$. It was 20$ cheaper on amazon but if it leaks I can always take it back. Let's put it this way. I'll give it 5 years and if it leaks after that's on me. I use it maybe three to four times a year. Any way that's one reason I shop here. Otherwise everything is wonderful. We love the meat department best. I have a food saver and since we have just two of us here I'll buy 10 lbs of great burger meat and bag each in 1 pound packages. I do this with all meat. I can buy the best NY strips. 5 steaks for 30-35$. Plenty large enough I only need to cook one and share it with my husband. Kirkland brand is the store brand. Every Kirkland brand product I've ever used has been as good or better than name brands. Let's talk dog food. Everyone is on the wheat free craze. Me too. I go to tractor supply but noticed today that the equally rated Kirkland brand (rates higher than blue buffalo btw) was 35$ for a 40 lb bag!!!! I'm paying 36$ for a 20 lb bag. Sooo we will be weaning them off the one and switching. Now don't get me started on bakery products oink oink . But I love their butter. 3 boxes. I freeze 2. It's organic and 10$. I bought 15 lbs of HUGE potatoes. We don't bake them often but these are meal sized. But also less peeling for recipes. I split them with my adult kids. Great wine selection. Great flowers. Clean store. The clothing department lacks plus sizes and the prices seem a little high on some things. But love the linens. I have two vacation homes I rent on air bnb and only use Costco sheets. The wash so well and don't pill. 49$. I've purchased some as low as 29$ for full sized. 500 thread count. I have also purchased mattresses and they are wonderful to We also bought a GREAT safe there. Half the price and all the quality of bass pro shops. Fits our valuables and guns well and bolted into concrete without an issue. I could go on. But I won't. What can I say? I love you Costco. Good Morning, My concern, stems over an issue that happened at your 8900 Tehama Ridge store on 05/03/24. I needed to bring back one of my hearing aids, the one just replaced roughly 5-6 months ago, for either a refund upgrade or get it fixed. With this being the second time in less than a year, I was willing to pay for an upgrade vs chancing a 3rd time in the immediate future. The initial lady I was working with, said I could not. She then handed me over to Chris, someone I have dealt with before pleasantly, who informed me of a 6 months no return policy. Not happy about it but understood he could not do anything about it. He handed the hearing aid back to the intial lady to finish out the return for repair paperwork. At which point, my wife and I finished it, and proceeded to shop. While shopping, I got a phone message from the lady, indicating I needed to return to the hearing aid department to finish the return.?? When we returned, it went down hill from here. She acknowledge she could find the intial sale, the recent repair however could not send it out because I was no longer an active member. She pushed the defective hearing aid back to me, refusing to hold it. I questioned this, because my wife is still active, with the same business info and names as well as finding the original info. She started to get condescending in responses and maintained a level of aggravation, stating policy and there was nothing I could do. I also questioned the warranty, how could the warranty expire do to who's name is on the account when you have all the info that a company would need for a return? I asked does that mean a warranty expires, regardless of warranty time, upon a member no longer being on an account? Basically, you have a warranty ONLY for the length of membership? She points out, I can take it up with customer service. I asked to speak to a manager about this, at which point she claims, quote-"go ahead and talk to whomever, they will tell you the same thing". We went to customer service, where another Chris, very pleasant, helped us. He acknowledged, my name is on my wife's business account, listed as deactivated. All we did at this point, was remove her name and reinstate my name. We both work out of the same location and see no reason for two different accounts. We returned to hearing aid, finished the return to a person who only wanted to rub salt into an open wound with her attitude. My overall point is, I own and run a "mom and pop" retail shop. When I have a return to send back to my vendors, they only want, 1-the delivery invoice number, 2-sale date and transaction number,, DONE. I get my credit, my customer gets either their exchange or refund. So for a multi million dollar company, I find it extremely hard to believe your vendors are asking for membership validation. I also find it hard to believe, here I am with a second warranty issue on the same hearing aid, within a short time frame, wanting to exchange it for a more expensive one that I was willing to pay the difference for. A retailer not wanting money????? IF this is a policy stance for Costco, in my opinion, a bad one. IF it is not, a serious training issue. I deliberately left the lady's name out.
