Teppanyaki specials menu~ (June 2023)
Edward L.

Nice tasty location inside Killarney Centre, tucked away in the corner. Parking is plentiful in the strip mall lot, though it can get full. The inside is pretty plain, but the furniture and tables are nice. Staff are friendly and helpful. I've been told (but cannot confirm) that the teppanyaki rice combos are unique to this location. All I know is that I don't remember seeing them anywhere else. My buddy recomended the duck breast combo. This thing is seriously tasty. Meat was nice and tender and fresh. Udon was decent quality too. Tater tots are something out of a supermarket frozen section. Drink was also good quality. The only complaint is that the portion is a bit small. I left hungry. I'd come back for a snack, but not if I was starving. With that said, for those with smaller appetites I'm sure these combos would be a decent choice. Recommended.

I came around 3pm. Even it was not busy time at all, nobody noticed I entered the restaurant. So I showed up the cashier and ordered. Server guy was busy for chatting with customer in their language. As I was super hungry this moment, I really hated their attitude already. I ordered laksa. Tasty but water down. There were no heat and fishy flavour in it. I felt like "laksa for kids" honestly. I won't come here for dining. Maybe just for bubble tea.

Despite the name, Bubble Waffle Cafe serves more than just desserts and drinks. They offer quite a large selection of rice dishes and noodle soups as well. PRO TIP: check in on Yelp for 10% off your order It's located in a plaza so parking was quite easy to find on a Thursday evening around 5:30 pm. I was quite hungry and was craving noodles, so I went straight for the noodle combo page of the menu. The noodle soup menu is similar to Deer Garden, where you can choose the broth, toppings, noodles, and a drink of your choice for $11.95. I went with the original fish soup, fresh fish and fish ball with fish roe, flat rice noodles, and HK style milk tea. When they first brought out my dish, I was really confused because it didn't look anything like what I had ordered. Turns out it was for a different table entirely. Not sure how they messed that up when there were only 2 other tables occupied... The portions here are huge. I was starving when I came but still had trouble finishing up my food and actually packed the leftovers to go. The large portions and the rice noodles were the only positive things about my meal. The fish broth was quite bland, as were the fish slices. And maybe I shouldn't have ordered the fish balls with fish roe; it tasted a little cheesy inside and that threw me off as well. There was also too much cabbage, which I wouldn't have minded (gotta make sure to get your veggies!) if it wasn't so bland. Overall I can't say I particularly enjoyed my noodle soup that much. Some of their other menu items looked good too, like the rice combos with the teppanyaki, so I'd like to come back and give the other items a chance some time.

I've always liked ordering from the Bubble Waffle Cafe in the Metrotown food court but it was out first time to dine at this location on 49th. Parking can be a bit tricky since the slots are a bit tight and there are several establishments sharing the parking lot so it can get full at times. The Cafe is nestled on the corner of the strip mall near the grocery. Interiors are a bit dated and couches need re-uphoulstery since there are a lot of cracks and fraying in the booth seating. Upon checking their menu, it is a bit different from their food court branches as all the rice entrees are served on a hot plate with fried egg and tater tots. While the noodle menu looks similar where you can pick your soup base and add-ons. Their combos have the option of drinks and bubble waffle/HK waffle add-ons too. I ordered their Hainanese Chicken combo with hot honey lemon plus HK style waffle. The taste of their Hainanese is consistent to the one I normally get at the food court but I feel like the side of egg and tatertots doesn't blend well with the dish though. The hot honey lemon was perfect for the cold and rainy afternoon while the HK Style waffle was a tasty dessert -- totally enjoyed the blend of peanut butter, honey and butter (calorie laden but oh so satisfying) with the crispy soft waffle. The hubby was feeling under the weather so he opted for soup with chicken meatballs that he enjoyed eating.

Been getting delivery from here from Ubereats lately and so far its pretty good. It can be a hit or miss because sometimes they mess up your order but with ubereats they dont give an option to voice this concern. Their spicy rice noodle soup is very tasty and addicting although I wish they would use less peppercorns. Most of the time when you pay extra for additional ingredients they will add that in. Their snacks are pretty good too. Bubble waffle is usually pretty yummy though sometimes it gets a little soggy as they put it in the takeout bag with the noodles and it can get too hot. My fave is definitely their popcorn chicken but I wouldnt recommend the curry fishballs for takeout as they dont really add curry in the container so its just dried fishballs The rice noodle is definitely the best noodle to go with the szchuan soup they have and I highly recommend it. There was one order (pictured below) I had placed where they gave me the wrong noodle and despite paying for extra ingredients you could tell there wasnt extra ingredients. I was tempted to deduct a star for this order specifically because the different noodle didnt go well with the soup base and I had paid $6 extra for 3 additional items where one was watercress and they basically gave me one piece lol. Other than this specific order usually they are pretty good with the orders. Maybe it was just an off day. Overall def satisfies the craving

Hainanese Chicken Rice combo with drink. Chicken is moist and flavourful. Taste is comparable to those in Singapore or Malaysia. Great deal.

Bubble Waffle Cafe serves a good selection of comfort Asian inspired dishes. Favourites are the laksa, Hainanese Chicken rice, egg waffle, and HK style milk tea. They also serve a range of drinks. Good potions at reasonable prices. Only had good meals eat-in or take-out.

For only 12$, you can get a bowl of soup noodle, lemon tea and bubble waffle. You can choose your base for the soup, the type of noodles as well as the ingredients you put in the soup. The drink was good as well as the bubble waffle. The service was pretty good. We got our food quickly and although there was only 1 waitress, she managed to handle everything quite well.

3.2 Stars There is a parking lot, but usually full on the weekends, as it is shared with a bunch of other businesses. First impressions, smaller then the ironwood location. The booth seats were torn up. Lighting is not very good, found it dim. We went for lunch and got a seat right away. Ordered: The Noodle Soup Combo - good flavour, came out hot (tempurature). Would like to see a bigger portion, not much noodles. HK Style Waffle Cake - just as good as the one I had at the other location. One of my favourite HK desserts. Service was good and friendly. Food came out fast. The value is a bit better then the Richmond location because to add the waffle cake is the same price as the reg bubble waffle. Overall Experience: Service - 9/10 Cleanliness - 7/10 Food - 6.5/10 Value - 8/10 Parking - 6.8/10

Not sure why this doesn't have a higher rating. It's not fancy but quite delicious! Service was not bad. I like their tomato pumpkin fish noodle soup. You can add $1 something to the combo for an original egg waffle (雞蛋仔) or waffle cake (格仔餅). Comes to around $11-12 per person.

This is my go-to take out joint for those nights that I dread slaving away in the kitchen after a 9-5. They've always done a great job and have been consistent with the food but the last times I've gotten take out...it's time to reconsider a new place after three strikes (yes three strikes now that my orders' been messed up). I love me some fish tofu. I live for that goodness and always my choice of toppings. And for three times in a row I never get my fish tofu!!!!!! I get so optimistic too thinking it's underneath the noodles BUT NO!!!! THERE'S NO FISH TOFU!!!! It makes me so sad...... It's still yummy though not gonna lie. But I'm just going to double check everything before they seal that to go bag.

Yes, this was called Iron Kitchen before. We always enjoy the mix and match noodle combo. Good soup broth. Typical Asian service and atmosphere. Lots of parking in the Killarney Market parking lot. They take credit card here!

Always the usual lol

One of the best waffle egg snacks, ever. Lightly cooked longer for that burnt flavour, or it is indeed a better batter. Did I say crispy? Lol While the broth and quantity of ingredients as well as garnishes are a notch below fr Deer Garden, it certainly is passable, and good. A regular anyways so there's that VIP stamp card. Cozy and lots of seating considering how packed it is. Inside Killarney Plaza. Credit debit good.

Living near the west end, it's hard to find a good Asian noodle place unless if you drive out to Burnaby or Richmond. For a good price you can get a bowl of noodle (you can customize your own soup base, noodle, toppings), or try the teppanyaki with rice or tater tots. For $1.39 you can add on bubble waffles or $2 for a bubble tea.

My husband ordered fish soup with watercress, fish tofu. And HK lemon ice tea. He said it was super delicious!

Food is good and always hot. Atmosphere is a bit noisy with loud music and conversation. My son loves the waffle and lemon coke.

The Chicken Avocado sandwich is the bomb and will order it every time, that I am in Vancouver.read more

Great place for refreshingly healthy eats downtown. I mostly do the build-your-own salad bowls,…read morewhere you can combine a variety of interesting "salads" with a base and optional protein of your choosing. The chili-lime tofu, my go-to, is grilled fresh and juicy with a tangy marinade. I find these bowls very filling, but the price adds up quickly as you add more salad scoops, so I find it best to be conservative with my estimate of how much I think I need to eat. Besides the salad bowls, they have some hot entrees. I tried the Moroccan chickpea hot bowl and the tomato soup and both were a little bland, which was especially disappointing for something labelled "Moroccan". I would go back and try some different entrees to see if anything else is better, but I would say the salads are likely the best choice here. They have a very limited selection of "healthy" baked goods too. I really liked the chocolate pistachio cookie. As you would expect, it's significantly less sweet and has a slightly drier texture than a regular cookie, but if you like that kind of "better for you" treat, it's good. Very cocoa-forward. I've had good experiences with the service. The staff is friendly enough and usually pretty fast. It's counter service, but they'll usually bring your food to you at your table. There's a good amount of seating inside and a few tables outside when the weather allows. It's minimalist but clean.

I never knew this place was called HBC Gourmet Market, but I finally remembered to take note of it…read morethe next time I visited. It's a bakery and deli. This is the place where I usually buy cakes for the office. Their cakes are pre-made and placed in the displays for you to choose from. They make cakes throughout the day, but if you're unlucky they could be low on choices if you're there at the wrong time. If you have time, order ahead, but I don't usually have any problems with walk ins. The most recent cakes that I purchased were the Lemon Meringue and the Chocolate. Both cakes were sweet, light and fluffy. They were a hit in the office.

The HBC Gourmet Market is a little known great eatery in downtown Vancouver. It is located on the bottom floor of the Hudson's Bay Company (next to the Pacific Centre food court). It appears to be relatively unknown because Yelp doesn't know about it and so many people are always asking where I buy my lunch! Here you will find a very tasty selection of typical deli fare... The soups, salads, and sandwiches are their main selects but there is a whole lot more! My favourites are the Thai Chicken soup and the Chipotle Chicken Soup... usually ordered with a Greek salad. I am always so pleased with my lunch that I made this my very first review on Yelp!

I had spotted this place the day before while walking by. Today we stopped in for lunch…read more When we walked in the place just smelled amazing. And the porchetta on the cutting board was calling me. We ordered a Porchetta sandwich, meatball sandwich and a side Kale Caesar salad. The Porchetta was great. Chopped and with some crispy pork cracklings on top, it was really very tasty. The mustard on the side was a great addition to every savory bite. Next the meatball. Spicy and delicious with a bit of kale added for texture and color. This was EVEN BETTER than the Porchetta if you can believe it. The kale salad was also good as well as the spicy pickle. I would eat here once a week if I lived close bye. A definite must try if you're in Vancouver. 9/10

Being that it was our first time here, one takeaway is to ask for more cracklin' because the crunchy pieces are the best part IMO. We ordered a porchetta sandwich and a grilled cheese. For the price (compared to Cali ) I thought it was a great value for a porchetta sandwich. The bread was fresh, perfectly toasted. The flavors were all tasty, and getting a side of their spicy dip elevated the sandwich even more. 10/10 would eat on the regular if I lived near by. The grilled cheese was alright though in comparison to the porchetta sandwich. Great cheese pull, definitely needs some dipping sauce to elevate it though. Don't know if I'd order again but if a grilled cheese is what you are craving, it'll do just fine. This location had some seating inside and a couple benches outside. Definitely good for solo dining or a quick lunch. Overall, glad we tried it, and wouldn't hesitate to order again.
