I've been looking high and low and maybe I've found my fav Thai spot in Vancouver. Silom Thai doesn't care about your Instagram. No jungle-themed wallpaper, glowing IG worthy neon walls, no angel wings to pose your pouty face, no Buddha statues collecting dust in the corner. Just a tight, modest room off Knight Street, humming with the kind of quiet confidence that only comes from doing one thing really well. As you know, once you get past the location, bricks, mortar, and initial wow-factors, a restaurant is all about the food and how it makes you feel. The food? It hits different here. Forget the watered-down, coconut-milk-heavy stuff most Thai joints in North America sling as authenticity. Silom goes straight for the throat--in the best way possible. The flavors are bold, unapologetic. Spice that wakes you up. Funky fermented notes that hang around just long enough to remind you: this isn't Westernized. It's not trying to be polite. It's trying to be REAL. Curries here don't coddle you with sweetness. The chili hits first, layered with depth--garlic, fish sauce, the tang of tamarind--and yes, lemongrass, but not the perfumed kind that smells like a candle shop. This is Thai food how it should be: loud, spicy, alive. This isn't fusion. It's not trying to translate CONFusion of placating the western tongue. It's a love letter to Bangkok--written in chili paste and eaten with sweat on your brow - feel it pool and drip while you suckle in the last drops of luscious goodness. Silom Thai doesn't just serve Thai food. It serves Thailand -- no filter, no fluff. If that's what you're hungry for, pull up a chair. CHEERS!!!

The food was pretty good but a little too spicy for my taste. We ordered the roti which we found way too greasy. The pad kee mao had really good flavour and "wok hay" but it was too spicy. They really should ask you the spice level you desire. The crispy chicken was also really tasty. The sauce was delicious but also too spicy. Wish it wasn't spicy at all. There's no need for it to be spicy. The servers were friendly but very inefficient and slow. It's a tiny restaurant and you can tell the servers are not experienced ones. Took them forever to come around with water or take our order. Hope this improves as the food is very good.

Such cute interior- a well decorated cozy space with garlic-packed flavours. I'm a garlic enjoyer and you will most definitely enjoy the Pad Si Ew if you are as well. Can't speak on authenticity but I loved the stir fry flavour's smokiness, chewy texture of the noodles, and tenderness of pork. Pad thai was a solid dish as well, though a bit tart for my preference, would still get it again for sure! Small shop so service is a little bit slow, but our waitress did come by to refill our waters :)

Tasty new Thai place on Knight. Parking is available on Knight, as well as the side street. Place is pretty small. Maybe 16 seats. Pretty cozy. Place is pretty bare bones, other than a LED logo on the wall. Staff are friendly. They speak Thai. Looks authentic. Dishes here do not include rice. Something to keep in mind. Pad ka pao moo grob - tasty pork belly. Nice mix of flavours. Comes with a sunny side up egg. Green chicken curry - chicken is fried and battered, much like Japanese karaage. Great taste. Dishes here can also be "Thai spicy", which is really nice for cranking up the heat. Very satisfying. Only real complaint is that the portion sizes are a bit small for the price. The quality is there though.

Been to Silom Thai Cuisine for a few dinners. On a recent visit, we shared roti with curry sauce ($8.00), tom kha soup chicken ($16.00) and pad kra pao egg-tofu & pork ($23.00). Added rice noodles for an extra $3.00. Roti's crispy but you only get four tiny pieces. Flavours were okay, portion sizes are small for the price.

First time to come here for dinner. I called to reserve a table in case I had to wait for a long time. My husband and I arrived at 7:25pm. Our reservation was at 7:30pm. We got seated quickly. The server was very polite. She was busy running around and served other customers. We ordered their platter for appetizers, pad Thai with glass noodles and pork and Tom Yum dry noodles. Everything tasted great. The papaya salad was more spicy than I expected. If you can't eat too spicy, make sure to ask the restaurant to make it less spicy. See the attached photos. All the dishes looked delicious and they were! Presentation of was great. Portion and pricing were reasonable and affordable.

A hidden gem for great Thai food. A friend recommended this place. Food: 5/5 we had Pad Thai noodle with tamarind sauce, Pad Kra Pao Pork which was fried grounded pork with chilli, and Thai basil, served with an egg and rice, & green curry with chicken. My favorite was the Pad Thai noodle. Service: 5/5 server was friendly and helpful with his recommendations. Atmosphere: 5/5 a cheery and bright place. I'll be back to try the other dishes.

You step in the entrance, and it fans out towards the counter. You order on the right, and get served on the left. Seating is mainly along the walls, but as you can imagine, it is a bit awkward the way tables are arranged. Seating is not comfortable, probably to discourage people from loitering around too long. We ordered a croissant, smoothie, ice-cream and a bao. We must've hit a busy rush because it took 15+ minutes for us to get our entire order. The veggie smoothie came out first; it was a tad tart, but that is how I like it. I don't like extra sweetener, and it didn't seem like they added any. The bao came next, and it was okay. Perhaps not dim-sum restaurant quality, but decent for a cafe. I enjoyed that it was filled with a meat patty and egg. Kind of wished that it was served with Worcestershire sauce. A bit pricey. Surprisingly, the croissant took the longest to come out, but it appeared there was a backlog at the toaster station. Many other customers were waiting for toasted goods. The croissant was light and flaky. While I can't be certain it was made in-house, if it was store-bought, I would definitely be surprised. I can't comment on the ice-cream as it was not mine, but I noted that the portion seemed very small for the price we paid. Shrinkflation is real, people. I won't probably go here often, and there are definitely better places for smoothies, ice cream and baos. But, if you need all three at the same time, this is a convenient one-stop-shop.

Cafe usually has some soft music going - with stringed lights - really giving off a warm cozy vibe - I'd say a great study spot on a rainy day. This cafe takes pride in creating moments of connection with their guests - you will definitely feel welcomed - the team is eager to help and are knowledgeable with offerings and can make great suggestions. My personal favorites during my visits would be Thai milk tea, Vietnamese Ice coffee, Roasted milk tea and the steamed Baos! They also offer DIY Bubble tea kits - which I've gifted to friends , and received praise for. They are currently also at the Richmond Night Market this year - offering a London fog series - I'd recommend the "Vancouver Maple Fog" -

I can see why there are so many add ons suggested on the app. This was just the base vehicle for everything else. 4/5 Spearmint Lemonade was good, considering how on occasion spirulina can taste like sea sludge. This was used very minimally and I actually loved the choice of ice which was solid with no holes and was filled up to the brim. Not the most bang for the buck however it was okay since this drink was on promo. Really friendly staff at this location, management may want to take not on consistency and be more transparent what is actually in a regular order of Hemp Caesar Salad.

I also ordered the birdie bar (granola bar), and Coca-Cola substitute. Can't wait to return and try a protein shake and some more desserts from the case (all vegan and GF). I ordered the nutty açaí bowl and the matcha smoothie. I really enjoyed the açaí bowl, the granola was the perfect blend of sweet and salty, and the bowl had a beautiful color. It didn't take long for the bowl to melt though, so if you plan on ordering this item, eat it quickly! The matcha smoothie was just so-so. While it was green and featured many ingredients, the banana overpowered every flavor and was the only note I could taste. It would be more honest to call it a banana smoothie than a Matcha.. Note: if you need a receipt this establishment is not for you! They didn't offer me or any customers before me a receipt. Also if you have a loyalty number with them, you can get discounts!
