Wow, this place is so cute! The service here is so friendly and warm. I had the rickety rickshaw bowl and it was fantastic, so fresh, the veggies were a little crunchy still just how I like them. The noodles, soft but not overcooked! And presented beautifully. My partner had the 1978 Pho and I stole a few sips, the broth was amazing. Shimmering and flavourful. We will definitely come back to try more dishes, maybe bring home some broth too! read more

I've been coming to this restaurant over the years and it's always satisfying. It's an order first and then grab a seat situation. They have plenty of seating indoor and a few tables outside. They have a good variety of options on their menu. But my go-to dish is the rice field bowl. It has plenty of veggies and I like how it comes with a side of their savoury lychee-date broth. The baisao chips with the paprika garlic tofu dip is also a great dish. Crisp taro chips with a creamy dip is a perfect combo. Highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for some satisfying vegetarian Vietnamese food. read more

I like Chau Cafe a lot. The food is great and I feel good after eating there. The people are friendly too. And it's fast. It's becoming a favorite. So maybe someone can help me understand the pricing. For the dish I ordered last night I got to choose protein. The meal was $17 base price. To have it with tofu was $0 extra. I thought, great, then I'll have the tofu and add the lemongrass chicken (yum) for $4. Here's where it gets confusing. The man taking my order said that the meal with the tofu would be $17. No extra charge for tofu. But if I added the chicken there would be a $4 charge for the chicken (fine, normal) plus now a charge of $3 for the tofu. What?!?!?!? So I get a penalty for adding the chicken and now need to pay for tofu, too, when it was free without the chicken? I asked him a few times and I said it seemed strange, but he insisted. Can someone help me make sense of this? What am I missing? I feel like it's a logic puzzle. But how can adding the chicken, which I would pay $4 for, suddenly mean the tofu would no longer be free? I'm so confused. It's like Schroedinger's tofu: simultaneously free and not free. BTW, the meal was delicious, but I would have loved having the tofu, too. read more

came in from out of town, looking for gluten-free and dairy-free options, and tried this out en route to our airbnb. initially my group was warily disappointed bc we didn't realize it was actually mostly vegan/vegetarian (but there are some chicken options/add-ons) as most of us love/want our meat!!... but we ended up REALLY enjoying our food, which is saying a lot for a bunch of carnivores! can't remember all the dishes we ordered, but the coconut curry soup was total comfort food, crispy roll satisfying, lemongrass chicken enjoyable. the vegan ice cream was out of this world!! that i had to buy a couple containers to take home with us: the pandan and the mango flavors were sensational!! i would come back just for the ice cream!! read more

I had the opportunity to try out Chauveggie this weekend and it had been such a long time since i'd visited but this meal made me question why it took me so long to come back! I got the rice fields bowl which was a dry tossed noodle with a mushroom sauce, broccoli, kale, lotus root and tofu. The bowl of noodles was very large when it arrived and the flavours were mind-blowing. Without any meat, the veggie forward toppings made the bowl feel nourishing yet filling. There were also bean sprouts which gave a nice textural contrast to the softer (yet still chewy) noodles. We also got their taro chips with a tofu dip and these were unbelievably crispy and the dip was a perfect accompaniment. Overall, a great place to fall in love with plant based eating. read more

My friend took me here, everyone should have taro chips, with yummy dipping sauce. i had the Golden Temple Soup, it was amazing curry though they needed some shitake mushroom. though much better than other places. after that i had some fresh Mango Ice Cream Sundae, The Prices today were reasonable. Presentation looks good, we received everything so fast, we didn't have wait long like other places. Wow it was amazing. Every city should have a Chau Veggie Express with amazing staff. They have pint ice cream to go, but they don't have mango ice cream, i hope in the near future they will have it. Everywhere was clean & organized, they need a raise. I'm totally full but the food here was so good that I am dreaming about eating more My husband and I visited Vancouver in 2015 and the memory of CHAU's variety and flavors stayed with us, so we came back 9 years later (now with two kids!) and it was as good as we remembered it. As a family of vegetarians it is rare for us to eat from a menu that has 100% plant-based options, rather than just a few items in one section. But I also really appreciate that their food is robustly flavored (not just the one-note veggie broth we might get at a pho restaurant down the street), and the vegetables are nicely cooked (not soggy, not crunchy). We had the golden curry, the fried rice special, the papaya salad, the fresh rolls, the spring rolls, the coconut shake, a couple flavors of ice cream, and they surprised us with a chocolate peanut butter bar when they heard it was our anniversary Everything was delicious! We're still talking about it. The staff was pleasant and gracious (they didn't rush us out of there when we were still eating near close), and had friendly demeanors. You order at the counter and get your own water, utensils, napkins; they bring you your food and they bus the table when you're done. They have indoor and outdoor seating options, and the interior has an open and fresh ambiance. I hadn't been here in a few years, so I decided to give them another try. Modern Vietnamese, with a pho, a lemongrass sate peanut noodle soup, and many other bowls, soups, rolls and so forth. I got the Red Sand Dunes Soup ($15 plus tax): the aforementioned lemongrass sate peanut noodle soup. The soup came out in under 10 minutes. The portion was large, coming with a generous portion of noodles, tons of firm tofu, kale and cabbage, with a touch of tofu skin, mushrooms and shredded carrots. The broth was quite salty and savoury, with a nice depth to it. I can't say I tasted much lemongrass, and I certainly didn't get any sate or peanut character, nor much spiciness. The broth *was* good, just not what you'd expect from the description. Nothing amazing here, just a solid, healthy, good value inauthentic Vietnamese noodle soup. read more

I came to Chau Veggie Express to get takeout and ended up decided on the Rickety Rickshaw bowl. Online ordering is pretty straightforward and as I came during off-peak hours, there was lots of seating. I liked how the sauce came separately as to not get the other ingredients soggy making it taste quite fresh even though I didn't eat it right away. I thought the food was delicious and my only wish was there was more spring rolls in the bowl! A definite recommend from myself! read more

Can't believe it was my first time visiting CHAU veggie! This restaurant is more of a self served place - you order at the front and the server will deliver the food to your table. Even though it is considered as an "express" or self served place, the server checked on us multiple times throughout our dinner to make sure we enjoyed our food! I was also amazed by their food - we got the Namaste Fresh Roll and Golden Temple Soup to share. The roll was so fresh and all the ingredients worked so cohesive together. And the soup - I did not expect the soup base to be so flavourful. If I can have this kind of vegetarian meal everyday, I don't think being a vegetarian would be that difficult after all. Wow!!! Can't believe I've driven past this place, meaning to try it "sometime", for years yet never sat down to eat until today! First off, there is outdoor seating, if you're not quite comfortable dining in yet (though it's not heated, FYI). Second thing I noticed, once entering, is how clean the place is. If you don't know, cleanliness is better than godliness in a dining establishment. A+ I came here with a group, and they accommodated us easily. You order at the counter, take a seat, then they bring your food & bevies to you (there's a separate beverage bar). There's also a cold fridge for juices, and you can ask for take-home frozen goods & taro chips. I ordered the "Rickety Rickshaw", because this is my go-to Vietnamese must have. It was ok. Because it's a vegan restaurant, the faux nuac cham was definitely missing the umami from the fish sauce. Also, could have used more peanuts & salt. A few of the other diners got the "Golden Temple Soup", and honestly, I'm jealous. I want to go back tomorrow just to try this monstrous bowl of curry soup with noodles & a ton of veggies! (See pics) The most surprising highlight for me was a fellow diner ordered the appy: Bai Sao Beach Chips....taro chips with *THE BEST DIP EVER*!!! I'm not kidding, my pupils dilated when I ate the dip. I will be coming back again & again if only for this as a snack. The staff were friendly, efficient, and the table service is a bonus! Prices are good compared to other vegan eateries. I must point out, only 1 of our group was a vegan, but everyone enjoyed their food. So even if you love meat, try CHAU, your tastebuds (and body) will thank you. Parking in front is limited, I suggest parking on 35th (around the corner just south of the restaurant). I had heard positive reviews of this place and I finally had a chance to visit. I was told one of the best dishes was the "tropical storm" bowl which consist of thick noodles and coconut milk and some type of shredded non-meat thing (in Vietnamese, the meat version is called bi-(shredded pork skin). I'm not a huge fan of this dish in general, so I ordered their noodle bowl with spring rolls (Rickety rickshaw bowl). I found the spring rolls to be super tasty (good flavor, and crispy); however I was pretty annoyed/disappointed by the portion of the spring roll. It was so chintzy, the 3 pieces didn't even equate to a whole spring roll. If you're paying $12, at the very least give me a whole spring roll. So much noodles and veg, but barely any spring rolls was disappointing. My cousin ordered the tropical storm and I thought it was pretty good. Except I would rather order a meat version at a Vietnamese restaurant. Their coconut drink was delicious. We also got a dessert (some coconut almond tart) drizzled with chocolate sauce, it wasn't too bad. They sell their own icecream and I'm a huge fan of pandan flavor, so I was looking forward to trying their pandan icecream before buying a jar to bring home. Their icecream was pretty good, except the flavor of pandan was hard to detect. I can see how this may appeal to a certain crowd who appreciates healthy/varied vegetarian dishes, but this place isn't for me. I wouldn't go back to get my Vietnamese or vegetarian fix. However, if I was dragged by a friend at least I know what I would order (just the spring rolls on its own or possibly order the tropical storm if I needed something to fill me up). Service was ok, cashier was friendly but some of the food runners/bussers weren't that friendly but that wouldn't be the reason for me not to come back. Oddly, I've never been to CHAU Veggie Express. It's a popular Vietnamese vegetarian spot nestled in between Hoi An Cafe and Amay's House. They also have a second location at Granville Island's Public Market. We dropped in on a Tuesday (around 11:50am). Not too crowded but decently busy for a weekday. The menu is small with about a dozen options; rolls, pho, vermicelli bowls, salad and rice bowls. There's also a large healthy drink menu. They also have their broth ($6.50) and ice cream pints ($12.00) for sale in the back. There's even a few pastries available (toasted coconut flakes, crispy mung beans & shallots and organic peanut butter bars). - Nonla crispy rolls (#19) ($5.00) - it came with a lemon vegan fish sauce. Light and crispy. Perfect little appetizer. - Tropical rainstorm bowl (#11) ($11.00) - it came with creamy toasted coconut and vegan fish sauce. This was like a vermicelli bowl with thicker noodles. Coconut cream sauce was okay but it was too creamy for my liking. - Red sand dunes cup (#15) ($11.00) - this is the vegetarian equivalent of bun bo hue. This was surprisingly good, especially when you consider the broth is strictly vegetarian. Good depth, slight spiciness to the broth. The tofu and lotus root were tasty. I get why this place is popular in Van but with all the Vietnamese places in the area, this wouldn't be my first choice. 3.5 stars. read more

I love this place! You won't miss meat here. My boyfriend is a self professed meat eater and he regularly suggests grabbing dinner from here which is a huge statement. They've recently knocked down the wall that seperates the spaces and makes the place feel bigger. For Covid measures, they have stickers on the ground for you to wait to order. Plastic barriers have been set up on tables as well. For the food, I have never had anything not 100% delicious here. My favourite is the Golden Temple Bowl which is creamy from coconut milk and packed with flavour. The rickety Rick shaw noodle bowl is also very delicious. The tarp chips come with an interesting dip. At first you may think it's a peanut dressing of sorts but once you taste it, it's very different. Definitely recommend this place on any day! read more

I've tried coming to this restaurant twice and both times it was packed. I finally got to try this restaurant today and was excited to see what the hype was about. Honestly, it wasn't really anything special or spectacular. You order at the front and find a seat and food is served to you. The servers were great. The ladies were so friendly and came by to collect our dishes (even though it's half self served) and asked if everything was okay. We didn't find the gentleman at the cashier (the owner?) very friendly. No smile or friendly conversation or "thank yous" when we went up to order. Prices are around $11-14 and portion is decent. BUT I wasn't full when we left. I ordered the Rickety Rickshaw and it is like a normal Vietnamese vermicelli bowl, but without meat. It had carrots, cucumber, radish, bean sprouts, bean curd, and four spring roll bites. While the ingredients were fresh, I found the dish very ordinary. The spring rolls were hard (like slightly stale) and I found the proportion was a little off. I was done the spring rolls and was left with a lot of noodles and veggies. My bf ordered the Tropical Rainstorm and the coconut was overwhelming. If you like coconut then you would like this dish! My bf didn't like it because it was on the sweet side and tasted kind of like dessert. We also tried the thai milk tea and coconut pandan icecreams. We liked how the icecreams weren't very sweet, but the flavour was light. The coconut pandan icecream was quite delightful, but I couldn't taste the Thai milk tea flavour for the Thai milk tea icecream. Would we come back? Probably not. If we were craving vegan or vegetarian dishes, we prefer the MeeT restaurants because their dishes are flavour bombs! read more

OMGawda! I left this place full as a tick. First off, it's a very popular restaurant along Victoria st. 10 minutes after we sat down it was packed. Every table filled (including counter space), so get there early or prepare to wait. IF you do have to wait, the wait is worth it. Cute place. All veggie. Can't go wrong. Well the food - to start we had two different kinds of delicious spring rolls which were very good, and these amazing tarot (I think that's what they were) chips with a dip that was awesome. So good. And my main meal was the very good Golden Temple something soup that was in a delicious coconut broth with tons of veggies (incl a couple veggies I've never tried before) all in a massive bowl. Just know you'll get fed well and it'll be delicious. You should try this place. read more

Guilt free food that's healthy and delicious. Only thing that gives me a slight forehead crinkle is the lack of seating. It just gets busy and there's a reason why. Go in. Try to eye some seats first and put your things down (so that you're not awkwardly holding your food w no place to eat it). Line up to order food. Grab your number and wait for food to be delivered. Don't forget to pick up cutlery and glasses of water that's on the side of the till. I'm there for the papaya salad quinoa soup bowl, but hear great things bout the rest of the menu. I am a long time customer of CHAU and enjoy their food and drinks. Their items are usually always great, however, I am very disappointed with their execution this time. Included is a photo of the coconut shake which I requested for it to be no ice because it was a very cold night. This is unacceptable behaviour from a restaurant. I know of no other place that under-fills their drinks like this due to a no ice request. If this is the case, I think they should list the amount of ml on their menu to let the customers know the exact amount they are purchasing. Or at least inform the customer at point-of-purchase. I am actually already very surprised that I found one piece of coconut meat in this takeout drink because I've received this drink multiple times without a single piece of coconut meat when I get it to go (they usually put two pieces when you order for dine in). For a drink that is charged at $6.25 plus taxes, I am very disappointed in the amount that was given. It is barely half full. Overall, the taste of food and drinks is great but I am very disappointed in the restaurant's execution and inconsistency. read more

This place shows me how tasty vegetarian/vegan food can be. I am neither vegetarian nor vegan but I may become one because of this place! (Jk) I love how the menu has pictures and thorough descriptions of each item so I knew what I was going to be eating. I got the golden temple soup with quinoa, red sand dunes soup with noodles, and finished it off with dessert (spiced pumpkin tart). The golden temple soup was light, yet had a very nice creamy coconut taste. It had a variety of healthy ingredients that I don't normally eat very much (tofu, beancurd, taro, yam, kale, mushrooms). I liked to mix in the quinoa into the soup, which gives it lots of flavour. The noodle soup was a clearer and less spiced-up option with similar ingredients as well. As with most desserts, my main concern is it being too sweet, however, the pumpkin pie did not disappoint. It was tasty and the whip cream complemented the spice and sweetness well. Service was relatively fast as you go up to order and pay. You can also help yourself to extra utensils (great for sharing), napkins, water, etc. As they have a couple long tables, you may find yourself sitting with some stranger friends, and there are separate smaller tables available as well, if you prefer a bit more privacy. I cannot wait to go back to try the other items on the menu - they all look tasty and are a much healthier alternative vs. burgers and fries. Also, do not forget to check out their drinks menu - lots of refreshing drinks. I wanted the coconut shake, but thought it might have been too much with my coconut curry. BIG bowls, BIG servings, BIG yum. I love this place, and every time I have gone, I've ordered something different. I've loved everything. The service here is alright. You're not really here for the service, though. It's very fast paced, suitable for individual dining because you sort of come in, get your food really quickly, eat, and go. It's not unwelcoming by any means, but it's also not the sort of place you'd want to stay in for longer than necessary. Water is tucked away near the bar-looking area, as is the utensils and the napkins; it's self-serve. On to the food. I've tried the Tropical Rainstorm Bowl, the Golden Temple soup with rice, and the Rickety Rickshaw Bowl. Of the three, I'd say the Golden Temple soup is the winner, and it's also probably the most filling. Get the soup on a dreary and cold day, and you'll warm up immediately. You get a ton of veggies with any of these meals, and the flavour and texture profile of all of them are perfectly balanced. I'd be a little careful with the Rickety Rickshaw though, since the serving of the crispy rolls that come with it is pretty small: you'll want more and end up buying it on the side (you're not crying, your wallet is). As for the dessert, I've heard great things about the ice cream but I have yet to try it. I HAVE, however, tried the Organic Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar but found it incredibly sweet. Too sweet. That's more of a personal preference though; I prefer a milder dessert. Come here for great food that comes fast. Bring vegan friends, bring non-vegan friends. Bring everyone. read more

Best veggie soup in Van imo; get the "golden temple soup" so much flavour and option for organic non GMO tofu

I found the food here very good. Came here about a half an hour to closing and the food came out very fast and fresh. The Taro chip appetizer was delicious, with the star of the show being the organic tofu dip. It was amazing!! The Golden Temple Noodle soup was also very good. Not too heavy on the tumeric - just enough so you could taste it, and the coconut broth was very light as well. Perfect balance for me. The spring rolls were pretty oily and did not have much flavor though.. Even with the fish sauce it came with. Would skip those next time. The two slightly down points for us was the price point, which I thought was a little on the high end for certain items - mainly the appetizers. Like, I loved the taro chips and dip, but it wasn't $7 good..maybe if the dip came with free refills and the small spring rolls were a couple dollars less. Also as a whole, I didn't find the help here too helpful nor friendly. When asked for recommendations since it was my first time there, the person taking the orders simply said he doesn't usually eat Vietnamese food, so did not know what to recommend. And the person who delivered us the food couldn't answer basic questions about what ingredients were in certain items. Instead, she acted inconvenienced that we would even ask, just said "I don't know" and left...a couple times. I thought it quite strange she didn't know the product she was serving, nor did she take the time to get answers for us. Information like that would be helpful for future customers to know as well I would imagine. However, all in all, I still think the food here was good and would come back to try more things... The golden temple soup has healing powers. I truly believe it is the best soup I've had. It is named after the famed abode of god, a chromed out holy architecture that looks like a wet dream of Salvador Dali who was once quoted saying "I don't do drugs, I am drugs". Which is what this soup is, drugs. You crave it and it makes you feel better. The song 'Love Is Only A Feeling' came on through the speakers after It was placed on my table. On this particular day I didn't have plans of coming here but the guy in front of me was turning left and it took me until right now to realize that was no ordinary man, that was my spirit guide Woscar, that lead me to this soup. This place has really good vegetarian dishes. I've been here a few times now and each time, I've always had great, quick service. The quality of the dishes have been consistent. The Rickety Rickshaw bowl and Tropical Rainstorm bowl are delicious. I usually get these bowls, whenever I go. I sometimes get the Golden Temple Bowl and add some quinoa. The Rickety Rickshaw has a good blend of flavours and the lemon fish sauce doesn't overpower the rest of the bowl. There is another location in Granville Island food court area so you can get some of these bowls there. The Granville Island is ok but I think the Victoria location is better. Keep in mind that the Victoria location is closed on Mondays, I found out this a couple of times as I've tried to go on Mondays. =) read more

I've been trying to cut down on my meat intake lately, so it was about time to CHAU down on some veggies. I was a bit confused walking in as I didn't know that you had to pay first and seat yourself. Water and condiments are also self-serve. While I do prefer paying after, my main issue was in regard to the tables as they weren't wiped down after customers left. Our table fell victim to this as it had a sticky residue and some crumbs. As I wasn't too hungry, I only ordered a Namaste Fresh Roll ($5.50) and had a bit of the Golden Temple Soup ($14.25). The Namaste Fresh Roll was pho-nomenal. Having recently had one across the stress, this roll knocked the other out of the water. Absent of meat, this roll's flavour is fully embodied in the lemongrass steamed tofu, mung beans, crispy shallots and wheat centre, and roasted peanut sauce (among other ingredients). I certainly have to highlight this sauce because it was thiccc and had actual peanuts in it! Of course, I smothered my roll in it down to the last drop. In other words, order this dish. For the meager amount of the Golden Temple Soup that I tried, it packed quite the punch. The aroma of the turmeric coconut curry was intoxicating and only surpassed by its rich, complex flavour. This, and the Rice Fields Bowl, appear to be the largest in portion size (and are the most expensive), but neither dish seems like it will leave you feeling too bloated. While I enjoyed the rice noodles and the beancurd, I didn't care much for the taro which was too large and dense for my liking. It was the only point in the meal where I missed the succulent bite of meat, say, a beef brisket. It was my first time eating at this location and I fully intend on sampling more of the menu to write a more fulsome review. When I went to the Granville Island location, I had the Rickety Rickshaw and it was pretty good from what I remember (though I'd imagine the portion size is smaller than this location's). Next up for me will be the Rice Fields Bowl and the Namahata Fresh Rolls! Until then, CHAU for now. read more

I LOVE the vegetarian spin on Vietnamese food here! I've gotten take-out for the Tropical Rainstorm bowl, Rickety rickshaw bowl, and Namaste rolls. Both bowls were priced at $10 with the option of adding tofu or an egg on top for $1.50 The Tropical rainstorm bowl is by far my favourite. It's got the textured and flavour packed shredded bean curds with the freshness of the spinach, kale, pickled veggies, cucumber and bean sprouts. This is the only bowl that comes with 2 sauces: the lemon vegan fish sauce and the coconut sauce. The real winner for me is the creamy coconut sauce.. mix it all in with the noodles and it's actually phenomenal. The Rickety rickshaw bowl is also a great choice. The shredded bean curds, peanuts, and crispy spring rolls add the salty flavours and crunch while the pickled veggies, bean sprouts, and basil lighten it up. The thin vermicelli noodles with this dish pairs great with the lemon vegan fish sauce it comes with since it really soaks it up. Lastly the Namaste rolls were also great, it's stuffed with all the veggie goodness while being quite filling because of the noodles and quinoa. The peanut sauce is extremely yummy too as it adds the punch of flavour that really completes the rolls! All in all, this place is GREAT for gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian AND meat-eaters. They have flavours and textures in their food that I can see how anyone can enjoy it. read more

Omg, this place is bomb! I came here with my friend and we ordered the Golden Temple Soup with wild rice blend, Midnight Swim Bowl, Taro Chips and Nonla Crispy Rolls. This is a place where you go to the counter to order and then find seating. I've came here before and ordered the Red Sand Dunes Soup. I ordered the soup as I thought it was the safest choice since I'm not a vegetarian. I think if this is your first time coming here, definetly get the golden temple soup or midnight swim bowl and taro chips for sure. Golden Temple Soup This was delicious! It comes with your choice of quinoa, wild rice blend or rice noodles. The soup is delicious, its a light tumeric coconut milk soup loaded with a lot of vegetables. This was flavorful and light, gauraunteed to be a good full after this! A must order Midnight Swim Bowl Yum, this was delicious too! This was saucy and savory! Under the leafy greens lays vegetable and then the wild rice blend. The vegetables and rice were spicy peanut garlic soy mushroom sauce and boy was it good! Another must order for sure! Taro Chips This is obviously a must order! Delicious thinly sliced fried taro with garlic paprika tofu dip. This combination is just a must! The lady taking our order was super friendly. She has short hair and a raspy voice. She's super cool and nice! Will definetly be back! read more

Food - 4 stars. Layout & Service Concept - 2 stars. The food is great. Freshly prepared, fresh ingredients, delicious flavour combinations. I've tried salads, soups and spring/summer rolls and really enjoyed them all. On the coffee bar side I've tried a vegan peanut butter bar and vegan caramelized banana ice cream, both were awesome! First of all, Friday nights here are brutal and a test of patience and personal space (probably Saturdays too, but I've only been on a Friday). The layout is strange and results in disorganized and frustrating experience for inexperienced patrons. Line up, order food, pay, find a seat..... oh, a coffee bar, excellent I'd like one of those nice looking dessert bars and a coffee too.... oh no you can't buy that here, get back in that 15 minute line, order, pay and then I'll bring it to you, meanwhile your food is ready....."where are you sitting".... oh I was sitting there but those people moved my jacket and now I guess I'll have to find another seat.... sigh.... dislike. So learn from my mistake - next time order and pay for everything you might possibly want first. The food is great. read more

My first dinner in Vancouver was at CHAU and it did not disappoint ! After spending so long on a plane, I wanted a tasty but light dinner before a long hike the next day. I got the vegan pho and added a poached egg for some protein. The bean curd tasted amazing and the broth was a light ginger flavor. All of the veggies tasted amazing, the soup was packed with kale, brocoli, cauliflower, carrots, and possibly more. The rice noodles were equally as good, what you might expect from a traditional and authentic Vietnamese restaurant. My only complaint was there didn't seem to be enough broth for the amount of toppings in the soup (I had to push the kale down into the broth so it would cool a little before eating it). The interior was clean and the service was polite - a great spot to go with a small group ! read more

This is hands down one of my favourite restaurants ever! Every item I have tried on the menu is so delicious and full of flavour. The main dishes are very filling, satisfying and reasonably priced ($11-$14). The staff are quick and friendly. There is lots of seating but I would say this isn't the best spot for larger groups, especially during peak hours. My favourite dish to get is the Rice Fields Bowl. Super tasty, satisfying and filling! The drinks are a bit pricey, but I have tried their Coconut shake which is delicious! If you're looking for some awesome plant based food, look no further! read more
