Walking past Chinatown you won't see any dramatic differences in restaurants you eat, or places to get drink, but bubble u is located right next BOA at first I thought it was just another tea store. However, when you look at the menu it's pretty simple and basic, but upon further inspection every drink is customizable without any fees. Similar to tpumps but I feel their ingredients are very fresh and unique. Did I ever talk about the food? This place actually have food, they serve bento boxes and snacks to go! If you can get over the cheap price this is the place to go. I high recommend the fried buns. It replicates the Chinese steamed buns, with condensed milk as a side it really brings out the flavor of the bun releasing the fresh taste of the bread as the steam flows out. read more

Went to this place on my hour long lunch break at work. It was maybe 5 miles away, not bad... but the line here was insane. It went put the door... it's pretty decent, kinda average. Damn friggin good boba. You see, there are all these fake trendy boba places in LA and as I have had boba for more than 10 years (before it was hip), I consider myself an expert. This place is a real and trendy/ig-worthy place. Although I had to wait for a little long time, they apologized profusely when I finally got my drink. I love the customization of the sweetness and ice and the flavors are great. Cute little boba shop in the middle of Chinatown. It is clean, cool, and has a decent amount of seating. The menu has a lot of options but I ordered Green Bubble Tea which was just a plain iced green tea (pretty strong) with small boba balls. Stumbled upon this little shop when I was waiting for a friend for dinner. However, I must say that I am glad I did. The owner who took my order was so kind to help recommend me drinks and answered all of my questions. I finally decided on the rose black tea with lychee jelly, a go-to when I'm trying out a new boba shop. To be frank the tea was a little week but the rose flavor was really good and the drink wasn't too sweet or too bland. There were actually a lot of items on the menu that I want to check out and the food menu looked really good too! On top of all that the little shop was really hip and clean. I had a Jasmine Green Milk Tea and hubby had a Taro Milk Tea, both with pearls. The pearls we're soft, sweet and chewy, though we didn't like the size of the pearls (very small). Amidst a very urban and budget-friendly neighborhood just across the street from the outdoor market, I was delightfully surprised to have stumbled upon the absolute BEST avocado boba drink I've ever had in my life. I was thoroughly blown away by the authentic avocado flavor (unsure if powder based but tasted like real avocado) and was incredibly silky, smooth, and perfect consistency. I actually loved that the bobas were small in size as well. The interior was also quite refreshing and the usual modern "minimalist" feel, which was also surprising due to its location and its surroundings there in China town. I loved it so much and though it's far from where I live, I know I'd love to grab another one when I'll be on that side of town!! Oh, and the cups they serve them in are just the cutest!
