A new boba shop that just opened up in Chinatown. As a boba fanatic, I would say that LA actually lacks a lot of good boba shops. So what's the verdict with Bubble U? ...it was actually delicious! I got the oolong milk tea and the sweetness is done just right. You can still taste the tea without it being too overpowering. Their boba is also smaller than usual and the texture is nice and chewy. The only downside is that the shop is relatively small and parking is hard to find in Chinatown. Bubble U is located in Chinatown. I didn't saw any parking garage, but you can park in the street. Also, no bathroom inside Bubble U and the place is really small. I say it can fit probably 15 people in there. The drinks is ok. Mine was brown sugar black milk tea. It was watery and I can barely taste anything. The reason why I am giving this a 4 Star is because of the service. The young lady that helped us was very nice and helpful. She was also very cheerful and full of smiles. A lovely little shop right off broadway in China Town. Parking in China Town can be a little tricky (or expensive) but try the side streets and walk over, because it'll be worth it! I got the opportunity to try two of their teas - the Iron Goddess Oolong milk tea and the Rose Matcha - both with boba. I do want to note that they use the smaller boba (if you're a big boba drinker, you probably know what I'm talking about), but they were cooked very well and I enjoyed them a lot! The Iron Goddess Oolong milk tea was excellent. I am a big tea drinker and the oolong in this drink really stood out rather than being drowned out by the milk like so many milk teas I've tried. It had a lovely full bodied, toasted flavor that was complimented beautifully by the milk. I found that 25% sweetness was a very comfortable level of sweet. The tea I was extra excited, but also slightly hesitant to try was the Rose Matcha. Matcha can be very bitter, so if it isn't made properly, I'm not a huge fan. However, I was SO intrigued by the pairing with rose milk tea that I had to try it. When asking the employee working the register how sweet this drink is, they warned me that it's quite sweet. I went to order 50% sweetness, but they countered my choice and suggested 25% based on what the feedback they'd received from other customers. I'm so glad they suggested 25%, because it was the perfect amount of sweetness! The sugars in the rose milk tea perfectly offset the slightly bitter matcha to create a really tasty drink with an interesting flavor profile. For two drinks, I paid $11, which is a little high, but the quality is very good and the drink size is fair. Ask for a stamp card for a treat for every 10th drink! ;) Overall, I would recommend Bubble U if you're in the area. They have some very unique flavors I can't wait to come back and try. read more

We originally asked for it to be half sweet, but the worker informed us that the drink is sweetened by the fruit so if we asked for less sweet, we would get less fruit. We opted for 100% sweet and it was tasty - very citrusy and refreshing for a hot day. This family-owned small business is amazing !! Delicious boba, excellent service, and for the covid19-era, top-notch cleanliness. First off, you can order online, on delivery apps, or in-person, but at the actual store they enforce social distancing precautions such as masks, store capacity, hand sanitizer provided, and a table divider at the front of the store to hand off your drinks. If you want to order at the store, there's a electronic kiosk right at the front that you can order on using a touch screen, and tap to pay using a credit card with no contact whatsoever.
