My first encounter with him I ordered a peach oolong. Dark tea with peach syrup and peach fruit. He made a milk based tea. Clearly this will look much different and I knew that was not how the drink is made. He argued with me and I had to tell him the ingredients don't call for milk powder. Next time (months later), I ordered a tropical punch online for my husband to pick up on his way home. The tropical punch is a mix of juices but the color of the finished drink is reddish. My tropical punch came home orange looking. I asked my husband "was there a young (description) man making the drinks?" He said yes. I immediately knew it because the drink (totally different from the first time) looked wrong. Before this young man came to work there, my orders were NEVER made wrong. When I explained to her, she checked the receipt and realized her mistake then remade my drinks, which is fine bc mistakes happen! But when she handed me my drinks, i noticed she shorted me for one of the drinks.. I even saw her scraping the last bit from the blender into the cup, clearly aware it wasn't enough, but she didn't address it or offer to top it off. After waiting extra time for the corrected order, it felt frustrating to be shorted again. All I'm saying is if I'm promised a size, it shouldn't come up short, especially after a mistake was already fixed. The reason for the five stars is because this place is usually very good to me. Terrible Customer Service - Never Again…read more I visited Smoothie King for the first (and last) time after a workout, hoping for a quick protein shake to raise my glucose levels as I am diabetic. Instead, I waited 15 minutes for my order while another customer who ordered after me was served first. When I inquired about the delay, I was told they had forgotten my order due to a mix-up. To top it off the two employees were laughing. Frustrated, I requested a refund, but the teenage employee said he had to call the manager--who wasn't even present. When I questioned why, he had no answer and insisted he couldn't process the refund. I told him that I would call the police. He called the manager, who asked to speak to me, I explained what had happened. He was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Instead of addressing my concerns, he asked for my name and number, which I refused to give. He then dismissed me, told me to "call the police," and yelled at me when I pointed out the extra time and his unsanitary food-handling practices. They didn't have on gloves while handling fruits. A business should empower its staff to handle refunds when service fails. Additionally, kindness and professionalism should be basic expectations in customer service. Unfortunately, this location failed on all fronts. I won't be returning, and I hope they take steps to retrain their staff and improve their policies. Needless to say, I was not refunded my money and I declined to wait another minute for a now 20 minutes. Smoothie King will never get my hard-earned money. I left and came back to tell them that they were wrong and that I would share my experience so others are aware of their no-refund in-person policy.
