I have gone to this KFT for years but will not go anymore. Ever since they hired one particular young man, the drinks are never made properly. As a customer, I am ordering the exact same drinks over a long period which means those drinks are being made by many employees who come and go. The drinks stay the same. There are recipes. This guy is not making the drinks correctly and if you tell him the drink doesn't look right, he wants to argue with you instead of remaking the drink. My first encounter with him I ordered a peach oolong. Dark tea with peach syrup and peach fruit. He made a milk based tea. Clearly this will look much different and I knew that was not how the drink is made. He argued with me and I had to tell him the ingredients don't call for milk powder. Next time (months later), I ordered a tropical punch online for my husband to pick up on his way home. The tropical punch is a mix of juices but the color of the finished drink is reddish. My tropical punch came home orange looking. I asked my husband "was there a young (description) man making the drinks?" He said yes. I immediately knew it because the drink (totally different from the first time) looked wrong. Before this young man came to work there, my orders were NEVER made wrong. Friendly service. Well-organized and clean. Super fast. They will customize your order, but they have a large menu to choose from as well. Kung Fu Tea is sort of the Starbucks of boba. Everything is standardized. The staff is knowledgeable. The feeling is sort of corporate. You can go in and know exactly what you will get and easily order a repeat beverage. Cups are sealed and pierced with straw, so it is neat to transport and easy to manage with kids or when delivering a large order. (For those avoiding straws, you can always order steel boba straws that are pointed and bring your own--did not check to see if they carry reusables in-store.) At the time of our visit, shop is enforcing mask-wearing. (We witnessed a well-handled exchange of an anti-masker by a shop employee. Don't come here. They don't need your money. BOTH the owner and store products are HORRIBLE. Came here two times only and issues both times. I urge you to stop coming here. Teas are watered down, no flavors (first time experience, you won't know unless you tried elsewhere). Also, they only sell ONE size -- large (second time experience). If you want Medium cup, they should give you large with medium's price since it is THEM who decided to sell only large. Don't force the customer to pay more. Called the owner and she said it's franchise approved because it's in a non-traditional location as it's inside a mall. It's NOT inside a mall (see pic). She is a lier. Other location in the area is ALSO in a same exact type of mall and they sell medium and large. Finally a Kung fu tea in the area! They opened a few weeks ago, and I've already been here four times since. Each time I come, the service is professional, and I never feel like I'm waiting too long for my drink(s). The dine-in area is fun and playful. It's a little small, but for something like a bubble tea place, you wouldn't expect a full on seating table area. There's just enough seats for a few couples to dine and a few people to wait comfortably for their drinks. All in all I'm really happy with this place and so glad that it's near my house! read more

I didn't have to drive any where else to get KFT from now on because I live in manassas and sometimes I would often drive to Centreville or somewhere else for KFT. I'm just so glad they finally opened it here. Even when before KFT opened here, it was this orange monkey bubble tea place but they replaced it to KFT, and I know everyone loves KFT. This Location not only serve one size of drink but the price they have on the board is $1.55 more than what is posted on the menu. When I ask the cashier why is she charging more and additional more than what is posted on the board. So really disappointed in the customer service treatment at this location.. Surely they need to take a note from Starbucks next door. I bought a matcha milk cap w/bubbles this evening on my way to SkyZone with my grands. I didn't look at it closely but instead assumed it was the correct order as I had never had an issue with an order mixup before. Newest Kung fu tea location in the area and pretty standard like the other ones - so it's just as great! My favorite bubble tea drink is Thai Milk Tea, and unfortunately looks like Kung fu tea has stopped serving it. HOWEVER, this location still has it! It is the only location that still serves Thai tea. I have checked Springfield, both locations in Tysons, and Centreville and none of them serve it anymore. You won't see it on menu, so have to ask for it. Drinks are delicious, fast and friendly service, and does not get overly crowded. Love it! read more

However today (8/22), the staff "shut the door on us" by telling us we could only order online. We spent over half an hour downloading the app, making an order, and waiting for our tea. Prior to ordering on the app we spent additional time to go out and get cash because we were told it was "cash only" just to end up not using the cash because of the app. We spent over an hour total just to get four teas. I've had mixed experiences with kung-fu tea in the past but this location is right near my house and they just opened up recently so I checked it out. The former owners, orange monkey, were also a bubble tea/bakery so it wasn't too much of a change. At a little over $5 for a no topping drink, it's a bit expensive but definitely a nice treat on hot days like we've been having recently. I'm slowly working my way through the menu. So far, I've just had the strawberry lemonade and its green tea variant, but they were great. I hope to go through the entire menu by the end of the summer. Been to other Kung Fu Tea's in the area but today was my first time ordering through the app. Got an iced Oolong Milk tea and a Rosehip Lemonade. The tea was pretty good. It was sweet and smooth. The Lemonade was sour (which I like) but too sweet for my liking. I've been going to this place since it opened and I can honestly say the quality and customer service has been getting worse every time I go. Their milk teas are not sweet enough usually and sometimes their classic teas are too bitter. Also the customer service is bad. I went today close to closing, and yes I understand it is annoying for customers to come when it's almost closing time. But it was not time for the store to close. A few customers were coming in and one of the employees said very loudly "Wow look at these people coming out of a clown car I'm about to close this store." I thought this was very disrespectful to say out loud while customers were still in the store. At the end of the day they're still customers, and when other customers are IN the store you should hold your opinions until they leave. Especially when they did nothing wrong or said anything rude/upsetting to the employees. I used to really enjoy their drinks, but with the lack of quality control and treatment of customers I won't be coming back to this location anymore.
