Yum! Pretty good Polish spot in Greensburg. I had the polish platter that came with a stuffed cabbage, haluski and pierogies. Everything was good! The stuffed cabbage tasted a little different than what I am used to/expected but that's the fun in dining out. My husband had the kielbasa sandwich and liked it but thought it was missing some sort of sauce. The sauerkraut was very good. We placed our order for takeout and it was ready in a prompt amount of time. This spot also is well known for their pizza which I thought was an interesting combination for a restaurant haha. Went to the one in Greensburg (mainly take out there but they had two tables). There is one in Irwin that may be a little larger! So much to try six different homemade soups daily! We tried the polish platter! The stuffed cabbage was very good and lots of meat compared to rice--sauce was good too! Perogies -A thicker dough but a nice balance with the filling - tried the potato and cheese and the sweet sauerkraut (not sweet sweet)! The onions so good! Halushki - to me the star of the platter the homemade square noodles and that cabbage....fried to perfection! They boast the best pizza (Detroit style) in Westmoreland county as well (have to go back to try that)! A visit to Bubbas will be worth your while!! read more

The first time I ordered pizza I thought it didn't look like any pizza I had ever seen. But the taste was there! We then tried every type of their pizza. Our favorites became the roast beef and pierogi pizza. They also have many favorites of Polish food, stuffed cabbage, and others I don't know how to spell! All homemade. The TASTE of their food has only improved and they don't skimp on sizes. The service is good. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes when given a time. There isn't a dinning area. Small storefront off a commercial drag in a town about an hour SE of Pittsburgh. And a menu specializing in Polish food and pizza - two food types without a lot of Venn diagram crossover. Yet Bubba's makes it all work surprisingly well. Stopped there Friday midday with Ladyfriend. Two small two-person tables inside (obviously more a takeout/carry out business), but we were the only diners in. She got the Polish platter - 3 pierogies, cabbage roll and side of haluski. Good dough/filling ratio, not over or under cooked. The cabbage roll was thick, nice tangy tomato sauce, lot of meat yet not overly greasy. $12. I got the four-slice half-pizza, plain. Detroit style but not overly thick or too doughy, it had a nice crunch at the edges. The sauce - atop the cheese - was again a nice tangibles instead of too sweet as some places do. $8.50. So with bottle of water, we had satisfying lunch for two for under $25, which is crazy. Two thumbs. Will look to return when in that neck of the woods again, maybe try some other menu items. read more

We ordered dinner to go, I'm not a fan of thick pizza which they told me ahead of time it was thick. Other people were eating so I went with it. I was pleasantly surprised by the pizza. It was good. Not your norm, they put a tiny bit of sauce on top of everything else. I generally like a lot of sauce but I still enjoyed the pizza. Really good crust. The perogies were pretty yummy. I am very much a fan of Mrs Ts which I know are not homemade but they are soooo good. These were the closest to Mrs Ts for me. The chicken was a little dry and the sauce needed some more flavor and seasoning. Possibly if I tried it with a different flavor it would have been better. But what saved this place was the pierogi pizza! AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!! It's like a confusion of is it a pierogi or is it a pizza?! But it's both and it's delicious! The pierogies were probably the best I've ever had! We tried the Deep Dish pizza, Kielbasa, and Polish platter which included:Potato and Cheese Pierogies, Hulushki, and Stuffed Cabbage. As far as service goes, we've been their twice, and the people have been great. Very warm, helpful, and appreciative of our patronage. So far, we've tried an assortment of their chicken lips w/ fries, the pizza, and 2 different types of their pierogis--the lekvar and potato and cheese. I will say this: some of the best pierogis i've had. They remind me so much of the ones my great-grandma (my Bubba, coincidentally!) used to make. So, so good. The lekvar ones are amazing! The chicken lips were good, albeit a little bit dry on the sauces we chose at times. This was mostly when we got the Garlic Parm or the Butter and Garlic. Would've definitely liked a little more sauce on them, but they were good. We loved the Ole Grandad, and the Sassy. The dry ranch and season salt were good as well, just wish it'd had a little more seasoning on them. I would skip out on the fries, though. They were subpar frozen ones that reminded me of what i'd get from a hospital or your old lunch line in high school, and were soggy and tasteless. Would not order those again. As far as the pizza--amazing. We LOVED it. I was shocked by how much we loved it! It was our first experience with this type of pizza, and it is definitely on my list of favorites! We found this little hole in the wall place in Greensburg. It's set up more for takeout but we managed to squeeze into one of their tables. Detroit pizza was amazing - the crispy cheese along the edge sealed the deal. Traditional potato cheese pierogi were some of the best we've had in the area; we bought frozen ones to take home (crab and blueberry!).
