    Lunch Steak Salad

This is a great place for a quick good lunch! Big selection, fair prices, and excellent service!!! My lunch steak salad was only $7.50. Probably the best lunch in the area

I've eaten here a few times. The food is always good and the workers are always friendly.

Good pizza and service. Easy in and out. Nothing fancy. Worth a try. Hoagies are fine as well.

The food is always consistent and good but if you're looking for a semi healthy option. You won't find it here.

There is something different and special about an Italian restaurant in Western PA. It's just better. More delicious and more hospitable. Carmine's is the perfect example. As mentioned in other reviews, Carmine's smells amazing. It will be crowded, so either arrive early or be prepared to wait. It's worth it. Everything our party ordered was terrific--zucchini planks, cheesy bread (from Enrico's), polenta, eggplant parm, and even an outstanding version of a Pittsburgh steak salad with that famous Carmine's dressing. So good! Great portion size for the price (50% cheaper than Connecticut). I also agree with reviewers who consider the marinara to be a tad too sweet, but that's up to your personal taste. It's still delicious. Carmine made a personal appearance at our table and was super hospitable. We could not have enjoyed the experience any more than we did. We will be back to Carmine's every time we are in Latrobe.

Our aunt mentioned Carmine's Pizza & Pasta so we decided to give it a try. When we arrived, the restaurant was packed. We later realized it was the day of the St. Patrick's Day parade so many people seemed to stop by afterwards. We noticed a lot of tables enjoying pizza but since we had just had pizza the day before, we decided to try some other dishes. We started with the Fried Cheese "Formaggio Fritto". The menu mentioned that it was made with aged provolone which is why we ordered it but it tasted more like mozzarella to us. Because of that, it wasn't quite what we expected. I ordered the Lump Crab Fettuccine with marinara sauce. The marinara was sweeter than I personally prefer and I didn't notice much crab flavor in the dish. My husband tried one of the polenta dishes since we don't often see polenta offered at Italian restaurants. We originally thought the polenta itself would be baked but it seemed that only the top was baked. We prefer polenta that's crispy on the outside so it wasn't exactly what we had in mind. The sauce on top was also on the sweeter side, though it paired better with the polenta. One thing we have to mention is the portion sizes. They were incredibly generous! My husband ended up getting about four meals out of his polenta dish. We also ordered tiramisu to go which was sweeter than we prefer but enjoyable with a nice espresso flavor. I almost feel bad writing this review because the staff were extremely nice and friendly. Overall, I think the flavors just didn't quite match our personal taste but we appreciated the great service and generous portions.

I would say in that time we have ordered just about everything on the menu. While we have moved half an hour away, we still make the trip for the food. That stops today. It took the waitress 25 mins to bring a salad and hot cheese balls. Firstly we thought they changed and were now a finger food establishment as we didn't get silverware. Then we noticed the cheese balls not only being room temp but also did not arrive w sauce. The waitress never came back for us to ask for sauce. The croutons on the salad were stale beyond belief. Inedible. Then the entrees arrived. What happened??? What did you do to the alfredo? There was no flavor and very little of it. We know what this sauce can taste like and that wasn't it. The broccoli was hard and seemed as if they just added it at the end, raw. The waitress never came back after dropping off the food. We never got refills. To say I am sad and disappointed would be the understatement of the year. I cannot stress enough how this failed all previous expectations. An hour and 15 mins for hot cheese balls, alfredo & a Stromboli is a bit much. Had this been the quality we know it can be, it wouldn't have mattered. No more road trips. Plenty of free parking on and off street. There is a ramp but I will warn you, it's long and a decently high grade. Inside there are booths and regular tables. Enough room to walk through the rooms or use a wheelchair, walker, scooter or cane. Noise level is low. You feel a part of the restaurant but not too close to those around you. Decor is simple and honestly what you might expect from an Italian restaurant. Kitchen is visible but you don't hear or see much from it.

Every year we have a function we go to where I get to try this most delicious food. And every year my wife reminds me that we are having it so I can eat two to three hours before- because for some off chance it's good, I can eat some decent food. Well- every year Hotel disappoints. Every single year. Nothing changes. Except for the game of is it burn or not burnt, soggy or plastic, cooked or raw, etc etc etc. Here's the reason - there's nothing special here. And if it's just for convenience, your especially lucky if your food isn't over or under cooked. I feel like Chef Boyardee (not Boiardi) made my pizza. It was a square pizza with mediocre dough, burnt edges, rubber cheese, and low end toppings. Luckily if you want a decent amount of toppings you have to order extra extra toppings. How this place gets 5 star ratings escapes my mind. Tony's freezer pizza is better. I'm not trying to hurt the business, but once a year I get to try this pizza and for the last 8 years, every time it just disappoints. Now here's the skinny on the wings... there's no depth to the sauce. Personally, I like my crust crunchy, no bones showing, smoke, and a decent amount of sauce, not too much though. - and good sauce! Sauce you want to drink straight from it's container. You are not getting that here. There is no possible way this place would ever be able to bottle any of their sauces and sell them country wide. The buffalo- I just don't get it. You would have to try it to see what I mean. I took one bite and was done. The sweet meat- I tried one, ate it all in a few bites and it felt like I didn't need another. Let's break that down, if your a wing lover (which I AM...) when is the last time you only ate one wing and stopped. I'm definitely not a fan of sweet anything when it comes to savory. I tolerate it. The sweet meat sauce is one of the better sweet meat flavors I have had - 7/10. If you like sweet meat wings and want to try a new place, you might want to check this place out. If you want anything else from this place, I personally would go hungry. Which I do every year. I will say that out of 20 or so wings - you had a good mix of flaps and drums, many of the drums were irregular and missing parts you normally see in a wing. You are NOT allowed to ask for flaps only. The prices are exorbitant for everything on the menu, except the pizza... wonder why. But if you can't do buffalo, you might as well stop saucing wings. When I'm starving for some wings, I take one piece off the flap perfectly and then eat it all. The drums are normally three bites for me.
