Probably our most favorite place to eat in Myrtle Beach!! We love the fun and funky vibe at Bubba's!! You can write on the tables, swings and walls here. It's really fun for the kids and adults! We love the decor and all the items hanging from the ceiling. They have several swings under the building to help the time pass. The wait is moderate, but it is worth the wait!! Went for a walk a little ways from where we are staying for vacation and decided on this rustic place. The drinks were quite weak. The food (although we expected to be quite heavily fried) was heavily fried and pretty much tasteless. We ordered the calamari, crab cake sandwich and popcorn Shrimp. Great view of the ocean from the front porch! Drinks and food is priced great and the service was good. I ordered the crab cake sandwich with sweet potato fries my mom ordered the blackened grouper sandwich. We both enjoyed our meals and will return. LONG wait if you want a table, as most parties are huge families. If you don't mind sitting at the bar (like us), no wait at all. Host was awful, as referenced in most other posts; impolite and seemed angry to be there, but hey, he was a teenage kid, probably was pissed to be working. Picked up to-go order once and went in for late lunch another time. Restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. The grouper was wonderful and ended up ordering both times. Early lunch on a weekday and we had the place to ourselves. Our server was friendly, helpful, and the right amount of available. Food came out at lightning speed. Fried calamari was fresh, crispy and tender with a mind blowing jalapeño jelly to dip! We shared the captains platter with four choices; blackened mahi-mahi, fried grouper, fried golf shrimp, and Friday oysters. It came with a huge pile of french fries that were a great texture and a hint of something special, A ramekin of coleslaw, and hush puppies. The atmosphere was fun with lots of interesting pictures and paper tablecloth and crayons to color! Drinks are served in a take-home cup which was also nice. read more

Do Not try to get a carry out order, you have to pay to Parkin the lot outback and the Hostess will send you to the bar to order a take out. Then after the guy in front of us getting take out, then about 10 minutes at the bar the the bartender said they were taking any Togo orders with two more people behind us waiting to order take out. read more

We come to the area usually 2x each summer and we ALWAYS visit Bubba's - wouldn't skip it ever! It's a lot of fried southern seafood, but MAN IS IT AWESOME! They do it right! The batter on items is not mushy or greasy - it's crisp and golden and not too much. The fish, whether cod, oysters, shrimp or even the pickles & green tomatoes - they are all fresh, juicy & taste amazing. Great for kids, tables are freshly covered with butcher paper each new customer & paper towel rolls are on the table! Kid-friendly kids meals for the picky eaters! Arrive early on busy weekend nights, it can be over an hour if you come during rush time (whether 2 people or 8, it's a wait). On Friday or Saturday we try to get there by 5pm latest and almost never wait to sit & eat. Also service can be better before 6-8pm rush hours. My husband got the First Mate Platter which he would recommend. Plenty of food and it was good. I however ordered the chicken tender basket. Was very surprised when there were only 3 small tenders and a lot of fries. Tenders were good. Just wish there were more of them. Friendly staff. Crowded popular spot. Hope they will consider switching to sustainable drinking cups. Heavy duty plastic ones will never decompose. Terrible for the environment. Spent an hour online looking for a decent restaurant with standard old seafood choices and reasonable prices (which eliminates all the touristy seafood buffets). Bubba's was the place! The staff was friendly, the service was good and quick, and the prices were a wallet saver. Note, it is very small, the atmosphere is quaint and can be noisy. Bar offers a small selection of bottled beers (no draft). If you like fried seafood, this is the place. No complaints! read more

I visited Bubba's while on vacation with my family. This is a smaller, yet very neat restaurant. The service was amazing, as well as the food. We started off with a fried calamari appetizer, which was outstanding, not to mention the great jalapeño jelly that came with it!! Do not pass the jelly up! For dinner, I enjoyed the blackened grouper platter, which had amazing flavor! I will definitely revisit Bubba's when I am back at the beach. Did I mention how awesome the service was? Came with my mom, grandpa, and my little sister. The food was amazing! Definitely recommend. The staff was really nice! If you are in a wheelchair this might not be the place for you because there's only stairs but if not, it's totally worth it! It's a shack+, grouper was really good, didn't get to meet Bubba.directly across from the beach and a bit of a view from the outdoor seating. My waitress said there was no WiFi but management replied to me and informed me they do have WiFi. Extra 1/2 star for WiFi and responding! Yelp needs to add a 1/2 option. I will be back to Bubbas. read more
