Waffle was on point. I didn't request what I usually do about how to cook my waffle and it was cooked to perfection. The taste was unbelievable cause I am picky about my food and that waffle was good and crispy. The chicken was good with the right amount of spices. No sauce needed. Service was good. Staff worked hard to make sure our order was correct. The ambiance was okay. read more

The food took more than 45 minutes from the time we ordered to the time it landed at our table. They put the waffles and chicken in to go containers despite the order being dine-in. The food wasn't in the box long before we received it but the steam still takes away from the crispness. All told, the food was pretty good. Not nearly as good as I have had at Bruxie Las Vegas and Bruxie Santa Monica, but still decent. The strange thing is the restaurant was NOT busy at all. There was no reason why the food should have taken this long. The party next to us waited over an hour for their food before they gave up and requested a refund. This is supposed to be quick serve! Weirdly, the bathroom door cannot lock from the inside. They provide a keycode and you are expected to knock before entering. What if you don't knock loud enough? What if the person inside doesn't hear you knock over the fan? Awkward! This is just piss poor design. I hope this location does better. read more

Very disappointed with service and food. First time here and I won't be coming back. Ordered Nashville chicken with bun & one with a waffle. Tasted like a chicken breast on a crispy waffle. Took over 20 min to get our food & we were the only customers. The cashier didn't know anything about their rewards program as I had downloaded their app. read more

There aren't options to sit indoors but the weather this last weekend was perfect for outdoors. The food took a little longer to come out but it was fresh fried chicken so it was worth the wait. The waffle was still crispy with the sandwich which is hard to accomplish with all the sauces! The chicken itself was seasoned well. Since the chicken was so flavorful with the sauces and waffles next the loaded fries could be skipped. Also tried the cold brew and the foam they added on top was a nice addition. read more

This place is dynamite, food was A1, Fernando came up and made sure we were well taken care of, the seating area outside is very relaxing as well.. I am very disappointed in the recent change to the buttermilk fried chicken salad. Not only did I receive half the amount of chicken, but the fried chicken was also nugget-shaped and larger. Unfortunately, I won't be coming here any longer. I used to come here weekly for lunch, but having lived in Davis for over a decade, I've seen many restaurants come and go in this building. I do, however, like that I can request the chicken Nashville hot. The service is good, and the restaurant has decent seating. read more

Took over the Burger Patch location. I was excited to hear about Bruxies new opening in Northern California finally. We came here on a weekday around 4:30pm. The cashier that assisted us was friendly and knowledgeable on the menu. Once we placed our order, we grabbed our number and found a table. There was only 1 customer dining outside and a party of 2 behind us. The restaurant was empty but for some reason, it took 30+ minutes to get our food. Not sure why it took so long. The food was good but a bit messy to eat. Hopefully the service speed can improve in the future. read more

We were so glad to get to try the New Bruxie in Davis, CA and the Very friendly and helpful team.. I was a very warm day today in Northern California and it was also very warm inside the restaurant around the kitchen fryer and register, but they made sure our Strawberry Lemonade and Arnold Palmer drinks were ice cold to keep us cool while we waited for our Bruxie Chicken sandwiches. Once they came out I couldn't wait to dive into my sandwich! My Nashville Hot was spicy and crunchy but still very moist and delicious.. I also had the Cajun spiced Tots which were nice and crunchy with just the right kick to complement my sandwich.. They are still a week away from their Grand Opening and if you can try to get out and try this place! read more

I did take out but as much as I wanted it to be a a Nashville fried chicken sandwich I don't think the sandwich was spicy enough and didn't satisfy the craving I wished I fulfilled. I got it with waffle fries and it was good but I would want to get a hotter variant if I do go again! read more

I was there around 2pm this afternoon. There was an African Am female worker standing at the cashier on the phone facing me as i patiently waited. She was apparently on a personal call with a friend giggling away. She was acting like I wasn't even there. It seemed like five minutes of wait and she did not care to hang up the call and take my order. I shrugged and headed out the door as she yelled at the back of my head "Have a GRRREAT day!!!" WTF she needs to be fired from her job. read more

Got 3 tenders with waffle fries and the chicken and waffles. I live in San Francisco now, so I tend to compare everything to the great food we have there. This place is so amazing. The chicken is really high in quality and really really juicy on the inside, but crisp outside. The waffles are crisp and fluffy on the inside. The chicken tenders hot honey are pretty spicy, but the tenders aren't spicy with the waffles. The creamy honey mustard is really good, but if you can't handle spicy then I suggest adding no spice at all- the flavor is still there. Sonia is great and really attentive. So sweet and really helped us choose since the menu is on the bigger side I think. I've lived in Davis for 20+ years and this is definitely some place to come back to. read more

Food taste great and amazing service. The owner is really chill and very kind to all the customers. Had a great conversation with him.

Outstanding food and service. The owner was awesome and treated everyone there like a friend.

Chicken & waffles: 3/5 super sweet waffle with a dill heavy batter & even sweeter syrup. Felt like it was lacking a bit of balance compared to the hot chicken sandwich. Fries: 5/5 Waffle fries that are salty, crunchy & amazing with the homemade dill ranch. Ranch 5/5 Worth getting a side. Hot chicken sandwich: 5/5 Really well balanced and I was nervous with the pickles but get it exactly as it says with a side of ranch & you'll be happy! A lot of depth of flavor there & the pickle helped balance the sandwich perfectly. I suppose the only real downside in my opinion is the price as I can get something similar from other places for $10 or so cheaper however, if I'm in the area I might be back for that hot chicken sandwich & fries again. Service: 5/5 Helpful & recommended the fries. Ambiance: 5/5 Indoor & outdoor seating with modern decor. Very clean. read more

This place has come a really long way since opening. Everytime I go, the food is always made fresh, tastes amazing, and the staff is so nice. I never write yelp reviews but this place seriously deserves more attention in Davis! read more

We first discovered this chicken and waffle masterpiece in Orange California when we dropped our daughter off at school. It was love at first bite!! Then we came home and had to hear about all the trips our daughter took for a Bruxie snack weekly. So when we heard that Davis was opening one we naturally did a happy dance!! Of course we don't get a weekly snack but definitely love to stop through now and then. It's always a pleasure to the staff are always greeting you with a smile and work hard to get your order right. It's a small area so I've never stayed to eat there. Also, for those worried about healthy options my actual favorite is their salad and you can get grilled chicken and a lemon vinaigrette if you'd like. I get the grilled chicken and I still do the house made ranch. Hehe gotta splurge a little. It is worth every bite !! Hope you stop by and enjoy!! read more

Food is good but pricey. Service was great at first but we wanted somthing to drink from the area nearby and when we came back to eat our meal that we already paid for we were told not to bring in outside food next time which is fine and understandable. It was our first time ever here and they continued with " its a slap in our face" who says that to a customer, that caught me off guard. read more

Do not listen to these people lying on these reviews. I waited more than an hour for my food and the order was still wrong after we asked them the wait time politely. At least let us know that its an hour wait with nobody in line. Don't even think about warming the food up for later... it will not taste good. The only thing that came out in under 45 minutes was my milkshake and I had to switch it out for a sweet tea because it was bad. THEN TURNS OUT the sweet tea taste like it hadn't been cleaned out or changed in a week....with no refrigeration. There was even another family waiting for their food for nearly 30-40 something minutes.. read more

The food is incredible. The waffles are perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside and the chicken is similarly crunchy, moist and well seasoned. Mac n cheese was also delicious as was their waffle fries. What surprised me was their tots were somehow even better than the waffle fries which are usually my favorite. The only issue is they make everything to order so the wait can take a little bit for a fast casual place but it's definitely worth it. Owner is super friendly as well! read more

My friends have been telling me to come to Davis for this place, and it did not disappoint! The location has a nice outdoor patio, with friendly staff members and a clean interior. The chicken sandwich waffles were way bigger than we thought and is easily shareable. It made for an excellent sweet and savory, yet comforting meal for our trio. The chicken was crispy and juicy with a nice chili honey sauce. The waffles were certainly the stars of the show and were amazing ! They even had their own cute little bottles of maple syrup. Totally recommend and will certainly be back soon. read more

We heard great things about Bruxie in general and were excited to try. 1st trip had our order lost and took almost 55 minutes for it to be done - I would highly recommend to keep your receipt. 2nd trip was much smoother and food arrived in less than 5 minutes - we went off peak, which I would recommend as well. Our first visit was on 18Apr and all the staff were very friendly, we got what the staff recommended: the Original, Holy Chicken and 2 Tenders, sides of cajun tater tots and hot honey on the side. We totally recommend the original and the tater tots! The coleslaw was also really tasty. Our order got lost and instead we had 3 separate visits to our table with servers bringing food we did not order: iced coffee, a chilli item, and another item. One of the servers checked back saying its been a while since she helped us while we were in line (unfortunately we did not manage to get her name as it was so busy - thank you again for the food recommendations!). She went out of her way to check where our food was, and came back asking if we remembered what we ordered as their system had also lost track of where our order went. Luckily, I had the receipt still. A while went by and I thought to check in again on the timeline and the kind staff member helping me at the cashier was polite but also confused as they were unable to find the staff who was checking in on it as well as my receipt. Thankfully the manager remembered and said she saw my receipt. She confirmed my order as well as that she is keeping an eye on it and making sure they get it for us soon as she is aware we have been waiting. The staff worked quickly and food was out within a few minutes. In our opinion, the manager that day went above and beyond in a stressful situation to make sure we got our food as well as maintained a high degree of professionalism and courtesy. Despite the rush, the food was high quality and we had no regrets waiting. Unfortunately, not many pictures as the food arrived piecemeal. Upon returning back into the establishment, the manager took the time to check back in with me and once again expressed apologies and I responded that we understand things happen as it was a busy day, and that my spouse loved it so we will likely visit again. Our 2nd trip we went off hours at 3pm and there was still a sizeable crowd. The staff was just as friendly and were open to our many questions, they helped us with looking for the exact entree we were looking for as we were still new to their menu. All in all the establishment is clean, and modern looking. Bruxie also hosts a good amount of staff, all whom are polite and friendly. The food is very good and in our limited experience consistent. Highly recommend to hold on to your receipt at least for now and maybe off peak hours if that might work for you. read more

Bruxie - The original, hot honey on the side - Chicken Shop Near Me - Davis, California

Shawn and Kevin were great. Omg the food was amazing and the tenders were so... tender. Better than chic fil a for sure.

My boyfriend and I used to come to Bruxie weekly, excited to try new things of their extensive menu! Their staff is friendly and readily able to answer any questions about the menu. They even have great recommendations if you are unsure. The food has always been fresh and delicious. There is usually a wait because they seem to be made to order. If you are in a rush, I recommend ordering online. There usually was some sort of inconsistency with the food, however. There would be times where I received a side of syrup for my bacon, egg, and cheddar and there would be times where I didn't receive any. There was a time where my boyfriend's meal was almost completely forgotten. This was when service was slow too. The place itself has some nice decor and seating. The shape of the store itself is a bit awkward, but the indoor seating is in the back of the store. They have several TVs there too to keep customers entertained. There is outdoor seating as well, but there would be plant debris that would land on our food and table. Overall, this is a good place to eat every once in a while. Not ideal to eat at often due to their high prices. Also not ideal if you're in a rush. The food and service would take 15-20 minutes on average. read more

We liked how the chicken was juicy and tender, but it was not as flavorful as we had hoped. The waffle in the chicken and waffles was very salty. read more

The chicken was good and so was the waffle definitely a good choice. This location is black owned and had great service.

One of the best chicken sandwiches I've had in a long time. Be prepared! Its juiciness mixed with their seasonings is incomparable. We had the hot honey sandwhich, it's spicy yes but tolerable. Be patient please, the food is worth the wait. They have indoor seating and a cute outdoor seating too. They have tvs on for entertainment, sports, and kid shows. The kitchen is in full clean display. I recommend this place to everyone who likes chicken. Their shakes are great too! Not too thick, not too watery. Very sweet shake for someone who has a sweet tooth like me. read more

Bruxie serves pretty good food and has a lot of seating with friendly staff. I went with my friend and when our food came, a large portion of our order was missing. The staff was super friendly and tried to be helpful, but it did take repeating the same missing items multiple times in a row to get them. We had ordered two flavored cold brews with foam and repeated the order several times, but we received two iced plain coffees. This didn't ruin the meal but it definitely wasn't what we ordered or what we would've enjoyed. The restaurant seemed not too busy and well staffed so it was a little frustrating to have so much trouble getting our whole order, but the food was tasty so it made up for it. read more

Great service Great Food waffles were delicious chicken tenders were awesome easy close to Freeway my 3rd time visiting and will be back

Came here because I love the menu and had to try it. The customer service was great! Very friendly and patient. We liked our chicken strips and chicken & waffles but found the ambience lacking. Unfortunately it's a weirdly shaped location and they didn't really decorate. So I'll go back but get mine to go... if the weather is good there's plenty of grass and some tables in the common areas. read more

Great customer service, staff is super friendly and sweet! Amazing food as well, I love the chicken and waffles.

beware of this place I ordered on Uber eats app. two items that both said buy one get one free. one was the breakfast Burrito and the other was chicken strips with tater tots one coffee and one tea. first off I didn't receive my drinks which unset my son. he called drive who said he wasn't given any drinks so we went on app to get refund. after I finished with refund it said you total was 84$. HOW ! When burrito on 18$ and chicken stripe and tots 20-22$ should be 40$ give or take. but instead of honoring buy one get one free at check out they charged me for all 4 items read more

We drive from Sacramento for our "Fried Chicken Fix" . My personal favorite is: "The Special" ( Fried Chicken Taco inside Waffle) . The flavors&textures are delish!! Service is outstanding and Danielle (Manager) was very welcoming and friendly. I wish they would open a store in Sac. read more
