We first discovered this chicken and waffle masterpiece in Orange California when we dropped our daughter off at school. It was love at first bite!! Then we came home and had to hear about all the trips our daughter took for a Bruxie snack weekly. So when we heard that Davis was opening one we naturally did a happy dance!! Of course we don't get a weekly snack but definitely love to stop through now and then. It's always a pleasure to the staff are always greeting you with a smile and work hard to get your order right. It's a small area so I've never stayed to eat there. Also, for those worried about healthy options my actual favorite is their salad and you can get grilled chicken and a lemon vinaigrette if you'd like. My friends have been telling me to come to Davis for this place, and it did not disappoint! The location has a nice outdoor patio, with friendly staff members and a clean interior. The chicken sandwich waffles were way bigger than we thought and is easily shareable. It made for an excellent sweet and savory, yet comforting meal for our trio. The chicken was crispy and juicy with a nice chili honey sauce. The waffles were certainly the stars of the show and were amazing ! They even had their own cute little bottles of maple syrup. Took over the Burger Patch location. I was excited to hear about Bruxies new opening in Northern California finally. We came here on a weekday around 4:30pm. The cashier that assisted us was friendly and knowledgeable on the menu. Once we placed our order, we grabbed our number and found a table. There was only 1 customer dining outside and a party of 2 behind us. The restaurant was empty but for some reason, it took 30+ minutes to get our food. Not sure why it took so long. The food is incredible. The waffles are perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside and the chicken is similarly crunchy, moist and well seasoned. Mac n cheese was also delicious as was their waffle fries. What surprised me was their tots were somehow even better than the waffle fries which are usually my favorite. Got 3 tenders with waffle fries and the chicken and waffles. I live in San Francisco now, so I tend to compare everything to the great food we have there. This place is so amazing. The chicken is really high in quality and really really juicy on the inside, but crisp outside. The waffles are crisp and fluffy on the inside. The chicken tenders hot honey are pretty spicy, but the tenders aren't spicy with the waffles. The creamy honey mustard is really good, but if you can't handle spicy then I suggest adding no spice at all- the flavor is still there. Sonia is great and really attentive. So sweet and really helped us choose since the menu is on the bigger side I think. I've lived in Davis for 20+ years and this is definitely some place to come back to. read more

One of the best chicken sandwiches I've had in a long time. Be prepared! Its juiciness mixed with their seasonings is incomparable. We had the hot honey sandwhich, it's spicy yes but tolerable. Be patient please, the food is worth the wait. They have indoor seating and a cute outdoor seating too. They have tvs on for entertainment, sports, and kid shows. They even have great recommendations if you are unsure. The food has always been fresh and delicious. There is usually a wait because they seem to be made to order. If you are in a rush, I recommend ordering online. There usually was some sort of inconsistency with the food, however. There would be times where I received a side of syrup for my bacon, egg, and cheddar and there would be times where I didn't receive any. There was a time where my boyfriend's meal was almost completely forgotten. This was when service was slow too. The place itself has some nice decor and seating. The shape of the store itself is a bit awkward, but the indoor seating is in the back of the store. They have several TVs there too to keep customers entertained. There is outdoor seating as well, but there would be plant debris that would land on our food and table. Overall, this is a good place to eat every once in a while. Not ideal to eat at often due to their high prices. Also not ideal if you're in a rush. The food and service would take 15-20 minutes on average. read more

We heard great things about Bruxie in general and were excited to try. 1st trip had our order lost and took almost 55 minutes for it to be done - I would highly recommend to keep your receipt. 2nd trip was much smoother and food arrived in less than 5 minutes - we went off peak, which I would recommend as well. Our first visit was on 18Apr and all the staff were very friendly, we got what the staff recommended: the Original, Holy Chicken and 2 Tenders, sides of cajun tater tots and hot honey on the side. We totally recommend the original and the tater tots! The coleslaw was also really tasty. Our order got lost and instead we had 3 separate visits to our table with servers bringing food we did not order: iced coffee, a chilli item, and another item. One of the servers checked back saying its been a while since she helped us while we were in line (unfortunately we did not manage to get her name as it was so busy - thank you again for the food recommendations!). She went out of her way to check where our food was, and came back asking if we remembered what we ordered as their system had also lost track of where our order went. Luckily, I had the receipt still. A while went by and I thought to check in again on the timeline and the kind staff member helping me at the cashier was polite but also confused as they were unable to find the staff who was checking in on it as well as my receipt. Thankfully the manager remembered and said she saw my receipt. She confirmed my order as well as that she is keeping an eye on it and making sure they get it for us soon as she is aware we have been waiting. The staff worked quickly and food was out within a few minutes. In our opinion, the manager that day went above and beyond in a stressful situation to make sure we got our food as well as maintained a high degree of professionalism and courtesy. Despite the rush, the food was high quality and we had no regrets waiting. Unfortunately, not many pictures as the food arrived piecemeal. Upon returning back into the establishment, the manager took the time to check back in with me and once again expressed apologies and I responded that we understand things happen as it was a busy day, and that my spouse loved it so we will likely visit again. Our 2nd trip we went off hours at 3pm and there was still a sizeable crowd. The staff was just as friendly and were open to our many questions, they helped us with looking for the exact entree we were looking for as we were still new to their menu. All in all the establishment is clean, and modern looking. Bruxie also hosts a good amount of staff, all whom are polite and friendly. The food is very good and in our limited experience consistent. Highly recommend to hold on to your receipt at least for now and maybe off peak hours if that might work for you. read more

I don't think I've ever had a better experience at any other Bruxie or at any other fast food place, to say the least. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and kindness. Not only was I given time to peruse the menu and asked if I needed any recommendations, but when I was ready to order, they were ready and eager to help. I would say that the store manager, Danielle, was the most outstanding in customer service and customer connection. They were efficient with my food, preparing it exactly as I requested, and even going above and beyond by asking if I wanted to put my chicken on the side so that my lettuce in the salad wouldn't get soggy. They all, but Danielle specifically, cared about me as a customer and made the whole experience the most enjoyable ever. It was clean, quick, and made my meals perfectly! Mediocre food, abysmal service. Placed a very simple to-go order of two sandwiches, one Hot and one Classic. The Hot sandwich was fully forgotten from the order. When my partner returned requesting that our order be properly fulfilled, we were offered a hastily made a mediocre sandwich carelessly tossed in a box (see photo). The staff neglected to offer recompense for the remainder of the order, or our time. By the time we returned home the first sandwich was obviously no longer appetizing (borderline inedible) so it is unfair to rate it. However I will happily review their "Hot Chicken Sandwich". Presentation: Horrific. Lettuce chopped (hacked?) In uneven chunks, chicken was sloppily tossed on the bun (see photo). I don't expect much out of fast food, but this was extraordinarily bad. It is rare I am forced to rebuild my entire sandwich, but today was one of those rare occasions. Taste: Average at best. Waffle was fairly bland, even for savory waffle, which is disappointing due to the incredible amount of potential savory waffles have. Lettuce was fresh, but the inconsistent texture and abundance of spines made it less than pleasurable to eat. Hot Honey was forgotten (2 for 2 on incomplete meals lol) so I unfortunately cannot rate that, but based on the rest of the meal it is safe to assume I didn't miss much. In fairness to them: the chicken was properly cooked and tasted decent, unlike many other poultry-oriented chains.
