Vegetarian/ Limited time --- mark your calendars for January 10, 2022
Ron R.

*** Vegetarian Review *** Pro: Original recipe Beyond Chicken Nuggets Cons: Pricey for chicken nuggets and their commercial is so misleading. The commercial makes the nuggets look like thick chicken patties, but those darn camera angles can be tricky! As of the second week of January 2022, only drive-thru orders and App for pick-up orders available. You cannot walk into the store and order at the counter. Food / Vegetarian Beyond Chicken Nuggets: Grade A+ Food / Coleslaw: Grade A Food / Biscuits: Grade D Food / Mac and Cheese: Grade D Comparisons: Based on what I read, these Beyond Chicken Nuggets were specifically designed for KFC, but at the end of the day, they are still just chicken nuggets and similar to items you can buy in the frozen food section of any grocery store. So why the A+ Grade? Two words ... Original Recipe! Would I Come Back Test? Yes. KFC is never on a vegetarians rotation, but these vegetarian nuggets are a definite treat. Just wish they were larger and had more of the crispy "skin" but the taste was great! If I could rate the Beyond Chicken on its own, it would get 5-Stars and even though the biscuits and Mac and cheese were awful, I will continue to come for the Beyond Nuggets. Not Vegan. These are cooked in the same fryers/oil as their real chicken. Four Vegetarian Order Options (based on their drive-thru menu - see photo) 6pc Beyond Chicken only, $6.99 Combo, 6pc Beyond Chicken, fries, medium drink, and a choice of dipping sauce, $6.99 Combo, 6pc Beyond Chicken, fries, and a medium drink $8.99 Combo, 12pc Beyond Chicken, fries, medium drink, and a choice of dipping sauce, $14.99 I'm not sure why the 6-piece combo and the non-combo are both priced at $6.99, but unfortunately, I didn't notice this until I got home and realized that I could have ordered the combo for the same price and got fries, a drink, and a dipping sauce. I wish they would have told me "are you sure, it's the same price for a combo and you get more food." In any event, this really doesn't make sense. Beyond Chicken (Grade A+): It's been nearly 30 years since I've had KFC's original recipe, but that streak is over. These were delicious, just wish they were more than nuggets. They aren't big in size, but huge in flavor. Loved them so much that I can overlook the price for something that is more of a snack than a meal. Currently, there are only available in their original recipe and maybe some day soon, they will also be offered in their honey BBQ too! (Hint-Hint!) Coleslaw (Grade A, large $5.29): Made in the restaurant - cabbage, carrots, onion, and their own dressing. It's refrigerator cold and very fresh tasting. Biscuits (Grade D, $1.09): The menu says "warm, flaky, southern-style", but my taste buds say cold, clumpy, and day-old. Those frozen Pillsbury biscuits are 10xs better. Save yourself the time and stay away from the biscuits or use a lot of butter. Mac and Cheese (Grade D, large $5.29): Elbow macaroni covered in cheddar cheese sauce. Maybe because Thanksgiving and Christmas just passed and I had some of that homemade mac and cheese, with the melted, golden cheese crust, but this stuff was just a cold clumpy mess. Elementary school style. Bottom line: The star of the show is the Beyond vegetarian chicken in original recipe. It was definitely finger-licking good. It says it is for a limited time only so I will definitely return as many times as possible to help make this a permanent menu item. I didn't like the biscuits or mac and cheese at all and I was disappointed I wasn't told I could have a complimentary dipping sauce. BBQ probably would have been awesome with the nuggets and coleslaw ... picnic food in the middle of January.

Wings and Wedges
Federico M.

I was in Davis today and have been dying to try their "new" hot wings. I got an order of 12 and a large order of wedges. I didnt get any ranch, so I had to go ask for some. No biggie. The chicken was ok, nothing what I expected, but still ok. The only reason I'm I'm writting this is due to my potato wedges ans yes, I feel like a fattie writting this review. My weedges were the oldest, most stale food I've ever ate in my life. Management needs to get with staff and go over hold times. This was unacceptable, but a blessing in disguise. I didnt bother to ask for a fresh order and just threw the damn thing away, and for me to throw food away, it has to be caca. The place itself was cool and loved that cup they have in the ceiling. The staff needs better training for sure. Hold times matter!

So cold an hard to explain

Food was horrible the chicken is nasty an so cold Look like u left in refigirator for the next day. My two clients looks forward to have this chicken but so cold taste nasty I'm sorry I'm so good with taste food an I'm not happy with my clients with this chicken is taste no gud ‍‍‍‍‍and they needs to do something with it customer servitosi nice but food a horrible look like a warm up

Regular Chicken. Batter felt thick and over seasoned.

First , I think the address for this location, shown here on yelp, is incorrect. The location of this KFC is at the corner of Richards Blvd and W Chiles Rd which is next to a Chevron station. As for KFC, the service is a hit or miss. This is only my second time going here but this second visit, the service was good. Received my meal fairly quick. However, the regular chicken seemed to have a different batter. Batter felt thick and over seasoned. In my first visit, I ordered the $5 fill-up and I asked to substitute the mash potatoes for the wedges. The worker charged me $6 and said that it's no longer $5. When I received my order, I received both a mash potatoes and wedges. I looked at my receipt and noticed an extra $1 for the wedges. *sigh* If you're going to this location, just make sure to pay attention to your total. Both times, they were out of BBQ sauce. I can't have the chicken tenders without the BBQ sauce. I ended up getting the leg/thigh combo. Parking is not an issue here. They have plenty of parking spaces as they don't seem to get busy...at least in the afternoon.

sad nasty lil' tendie
Geoff P.

I just received the saddest tenders i've ever seen. And they're spicy... I ordered regular. Very disappointed, and trust me, i wasn't expecting much.

12pc Chicken and 6pc Tenders for $38.30 @KFC. Biggest mistake!

On the recommendation of the counter staff, I ordered the Chicken Breast Classic sandwich, and I ordered fries with no salt (that's a dietary thing, and a secret way to get fries straight out of the fryer). OMG - the sandwich was almost perfect and the fries were perfect. If I were serving that sandwich to guests, I'd ask if they wanted the chicken breast cold or warmed slightly. As noted from other reviewers, the "sourdough" roll is shaped as a round bun which is not as I thought it would arrive. It also didn't have a traditional sourdough tang or texture. It was good, but not very sourdough. Expectations vs. reality. The service was fast and friendly, the restaurant was clean, parking was easy, and I feel like my meal was priced appropriately. No pics, I was HUNGRY when I landed there - so, props again for really quick service from the time I walked in until I had hot fries in front of me.

My wife used the restroom while I waited near the entrance. Once we both walked in the manager (around 6'2", beard), from behind the counter told us very abruptly: "If you want to order anything it has to be to go, because we close in 10 minutes. If you want fries, order them now because they take 10 minutes to make." The way this was communicated was not professional or welcoming--it came across as rude and dismissive. There was no greeting, just a sharp directive. Despite this, we went ahead and placed a to‑go order for a tri‑tip sandwich and a Greek salad and paid. I completely understand that businesses have closing times and need to clean and wrap up for the night. That's reasonable. What's not reasonable is speaking to long‑time customers, or any customer, in such an unkind, abrupt manner. A little courtesy goes a long way. Because of this experience, we won't be returning. There are plenty of other local options in Davis that will take our money, while valueing and respecting their customers, regardless of when they walk through the door.

Can't believe it took me this long to write a review for My Burma. Long overdue. The food is excellent and I keep coming back. A few dishes worth calling out specifically: the Tea Leaf Salad, Sesame Chicken, Coconut Rice, and the Pad Thai. Haven't been able to get to anything else on return trips. One note if you're a heat seeker -- the Pad Thai doesn't get very spicy, even when requested. I like extreme heat, so factor that in accordingly. Most people will find it perfectly seasoned. On my last visit I tried the black rice pudding with ice cream. Don't skip it if dessert is on your radar. Dogs are welcome on the patio, which is a great perk. One thing to be aware of: the gate can be a little tricky to navigate -- something to keep in mind if you or anyone in your group has mobility challenges. My Burma has my business. Highly recommend.

We had the seafood tofu hotpot, shrimp wonton, garlic green bean, mongolian beef, half hainan chicken, and ny steak spaghetti to-go. Was a little busy at 7 on a holiday so we waited like ten minutes to get our order in, the guy memorized our order right as I said it lol. He confirmed and we got our soup in ten mins, ten mins for green beans and mongolian beef, another ten minutes for our chicken, then like seven for hotpot. Most disappointing was chicken, it's not hainan at all and just standard hong kong white chicken. Taste is fine and fresh but was sad. Best was the seafood hotpot AND the wonton soup. Both had great flavor and saltiness and was just sooo good. Wontons were very tasty and had a lot of meat, definitely both pork and shrimp, and soup even had little shrimp in it ifkyk. The seafood hotpot had great variety and flavor, my parents were pleased with the fish bits in it, the tofu was yummy bc it's fried tofu, the crab texture was not great maybe overcooked and I didn't like the soft cucumber but otherwise the broccoli scallop shrimp tofu fish bok choy was all great. Green beans and mongolian beef SERIOUSLY needed some wok flavor and wish the beef had black pepper because the seasoning was a bit lacking (wok flavor would be great here) and overall the vegetables were a little undercooked. They were addictive though I definitely kept going back for more. Hot tea is jasmine tea. Service was a bit lackluster but totally understandable and even though I was in a rush we were in and out by an hour and like ten minutes which worked. Ambiance wise, I didn't like how the lights are half brighter and whiter than the sun and half nicely softly lit. Tables are nice wood and a bit sticky but okay. There's random Chinese TV on the walls, very traditional lol and I think no music. Overall very pleased! Will definitely come back as much as possible to support, and highly highly recommend. I went harsh on Tim's because I was expecting perfect dishes, and even though some stuff didn't hit, everything was way beyond average.

The ayce menu had a limited selection (in comparison to other kbbqs) for $32, but there were some highlights that my group enjoyed- salt and pepper wings, scallop and vermicelli, garlic noodles, sesame balls, and cheese corn. The meats were okay, but nothing to write home about. The bulgogi sauces were lighter, so that was nice, but I thought the marinade was off.
