I forget the movers names but they were both prompt, handled my items delicately with care, didn't take their sweet time they worked very very hard, disassembled and reassembled a near 50 year old antique silik hutch that I have inherited , they moved everything exactly where it needed to be in my new place, were very polite and respectful and did not damage anything or steal at all. I've dealt with another moving company in the past where I suspected some jewelry went missing. They are the quickest at responses, very reasonable pricing, flexible with their schedules, all in all I am very satisfied and have asked them to move another thing for me as well. 10/10 recommend. Ps. Big thank you to Anna for coordinating everything !!! She is excellent as well

They took a two hour lunch (that I paid for) from 12 till 2. They didn't finish until 10PM and that was only because my wife and I ended up packing 30 percent of the house ourselves. They didn't bring enough packing materials and I had to go to Home Depot and spend a hundred dollars to buy more material. They did an awful job of packing such that almost every box was crushed when we received it. They ruined a $5,000 rug and you can hear broken glass in countless boxes. Lastly, there was no accounting on delivery. A guy with a beat up trailer just showed up and unloaded as quickly as possible. We asked him for some accounting and all he said was "this is all I got." We suspect we are missing a substantial amount of our shipment. A word to the wise... use a different company.

If you use them, make sure you protect your own furniture by wrapping it well. This is the mistake I made. Also our tv was damaged, no cracked screen, we just have a vertical line during certain images on the left edge of the screen now. It was an expensive oled, we spent over 4k for it. They didn't use the box I purchased and assured me would be better out of the box. My fault for not insisting on using the box. Our tv stand suffered minor dings, like paint chips, I was able to cover it up with some touch up paint so no big deal. I would recommend them if you protect your own items well.

When called at noon to make sure they'd be there, no answer. After numerous phone calls between the agent, moving company rep (the ONLY ONE at Ewa Moving who was helpful & went above & beyond) and even the owner of Ewa Moving, items were finally picked up at 3:45p. They loaded up half because their "largest" truck couldn't do the complete move knowing full well it was 2 completely filled storage units. They finally got to my new home at 6:20p. They were supposed to set things up with what they had. Instead they left it in the garage. When I informed the owner his response was "Ok whatever we didn't finish, XXXXXXX will complete" Wow - lack of professionalism. He made it seem like it was my fault. As a customer I shouldn't have to be making endless phone calls & chasing down movers. This was a contracted move through a moving company. Even they were surprised at the attitude. I cannot ever recommend a company that treats their customers this way. Martin (the owner) says they do a lot of military moves. I'd think twice if they treat locals this way. *The rating would be a No Star but that's not an option.

Not only did they provide the lowest price point but they also made me feel truly cared for. My initial call was with Paige. She was lovely, upbeat and helpful. She calmed my concerns and helped me de-stress. I felt my family was in good hands after a few minutes of talking. Paige is great at what she does! My next few calls were with Jordan who seemingly was available 24/7. He never missed a call and helped me navigate a tricky move. He was transparent and realistic about what expectations my family and I should have. He went above and beyond to take care of my family as if they were his own relatives. On moving day, Ty and Brandon were unbelievably efficient, hardworking, thorough and kind. My grandma doesn't speak much English but the language barrier proved no problem in the face of Ty and Brandon's kindness. Ty and Brandon were undoubtedly impressive. Professional from start to finish. Crazy strong and fast. They were efficient yet careful. No damage to any of our belongings. Ty and Brandon worked quickly in order to help my family save costs--even doing extra things to help like move a whole fridge to make my life easier. What was estimated to take 3.5-5 hours took the pair of them 2.5 hours. This is with one tall flight of stairs at the old apartment and FOUR flights of winding stairs at the new. Unreal. My family has moved twice before but no other moving company left anywhere near the same positive impression as YouMoveMe. Tyron and Brandon left quite the impression on my family--so much so that they know who they want to call for their next move. YouMoveMe humanizes the moving experience and actually makes it enjoyable. They offer the best prices and best service. They don't charge for the walkthrough like many other companies, and charge by 15-min increments after the first hour. Please be sure to tip your movers. They work hard and their jobs are not easy--though Ty and Brandon make it seem like it. Highly recommend YouMoveMe! The most professional moving company yet.

That one was $2300. 2nd time , he was supposed to be there by 8:30am never showed up till 12:30 and the boys didn't come till 1:30. That should have been our first clue. Now we are only going from Palolo to KAIMUKI and it cost us double the price! Also he's got this gimmick now. Like UPS AND FED EX TRUCKS all come up to my house, kawika decided to park on Palolo Ave and block it. Here's the gimmick....he parks the big truck down the road brings a little van to my house loads that then goes to the big truck to download. We got from point A to B-4 times costing us an extra 2 hours. Half an hour to unload each time. We also had our own flat bed truck to help. Kawika's big van parked on Palolo ave died out while he we sitting in it the whole time telling us the hazard lights killed the battery. Full of lies!!. His own vehicles couldn't jump start it so obviously we had to with our flat bed ( dodge 5500 with lift) and our own jumper cables. Another hour wasted but charged for. After they did the 1 drop it was 10:00pm or so. Blaming us for the time and nasty neighborhood. If he had showed up on time, we would have beat the Pau Hana Traffic. That's why we scheduled the early. He was supposed to finish the job on July 4th and never showed up. He sent Us a text at 11:27 pm on July 3rd that he can't come till 9:30-10. He NEVER showed, Needless to say We had to scramble to find new movers. He charged us 3 hours over because of his antics not ours. He over charged us by $967.00. I would get very specific plans from him BEFORE YOU TAKE THE RISK. Please consider someone else unless you don't care!! The second day was going to cost us the same as the first day!! 2x's the charges!! Guys like him give ALL KAWIKA's A bad name! I cannot express to you how shady LUCKY MOVERS ARE!! Please consider someone else!! Don't TRUST HIM!!!

Treyse texted me back immediately and asked many good questions so he could send me a quote right away. The quote was very reasonable considering he and two others each had a large pick up truck for the moving of two sofas, coffee table, large end tables from one home in Kunia to Mililani and a queen bed from another home in town to Mililani. They are also insured. A couple days prior to the move Treyse texted to confirm date, times and amount quoted. Very thorough so no misunderstandings. On day of move he texted when they were on their way and arrived promptly at first destination. They were all very polite and careful young men in high school, all wore gloves and brought padding and coverlets for the glass tops and couches to prevent any raindrops. I followed them to the home and they all three drove very carefully, using turn signals, not following too close, and found the place easily. Unloading was quick and easy for them, they hui first to make sure they know who's doing what and where. We tipped them out as we loved seeing teenagers being so responsible and respectful to kupuna. Treyse handed us business cards and it also said they take items to the dump for you. We will be sure to use PMO and Treyse again for more moving needs and taking things to the dump. What really sold me was their familiarity with the neighborhood I was moving into -- that local knowledge made the whole process smoother and gave me confidence right away. They coordinated with me while their team was on vacation and scheduled my move for the very next day after they returned. Alfredo took the time to speak with me directly on the phone, answered every question, and made sure everything was lined up. On move day, only half of the crew ended up being available, and without me even asking, Alfredo proactively discounted the price. That level of integrity and customer care is rare. Everything was handled efficiently and respectfully. 100 out of 100 -- I would absolutely use Making Moves again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, local movers.

You could say I have a lot of experience with movers as I inherited my father's personally woodworked furniture which added to my own collection that he made for me. I have a lot of sentimental (and heavy) stuff plus I have a herniated disc, so moving is even more overwhelming. And moving every year for so long has been so much less than ideal. I had a go-to mover but they didn't reply when I reached out so I figured I would try someone new out bc, maybe I can have options. Incredibly, Making Moves packed everything much more thoroughly and somehow the move seemed shorter...?! Even accounting for the shorter distance, this move was seriously fast but not lacking one bit in caution. And here is the kicker, it was less expensive too and the team was bigger. I still love the other mover but this team has beyond proved itself so I guess this is my first choice mover now. Treat this team right. They are in demand for a reason.

Don't use JJMOVERS unless you want your furniture broken and ruined and a price different than what was quoted over the phone. When our truck and friends failed to show up on our only day off we called Joey at JJMovers. He advertised that last minute moves were not a problem. He agreed to get to the house where my husband was waiting and to do the move. Joey quoted $55.00 an hour with two men. Though he had had ample opportunity to do so, he never mentioned a rush charge until he got to the house and told my husband. Not fair. Through their negligence they broke the glass of a $350.00 desk. Later I found out they managed to take a chunk of wood out of a Pier 1 red cabinet that is no longer sold. Pier 1 has exclusive paints so I cannot match the paint and am stuck with a ruined piece of furniture. They also damaged a custom armoire. He promised to bring over the glass replacement in two days after we called in the measurements. Like an idiot, and also a sleep-deprived maniac because of all the moving stress, I paid him after we renegotiated the price since he had been less than honest about the charges. He missed 3 appointments that HE scheduled at times that were good for HIM. We have no glass, he refuses to answer my calls, and so I have no recourse but to warn people. I will be calling the Better Business Bureau along with using Craigslist, Yelp, and Facebook to warn people away from JJMovers. His phone number is 368-5045 so please look for that number and DO NOT GIVE HIM AN OPPORTUNITY TO DESTROY YOUR BELONGINGS. I will post this as a caution so as many people as possible learn about his business and they way he treated us. Accidents do happen and I was willing to pay him because he seemed trustworthy and I believed his lies about the glass and the cabinet. I am a real person and you can feel free to contact me for more details if this is not enough information. Do not use JJMovers at 368-5045.

When I found Joey's craigslist ad for "2 Guys & 1 Big Truck $55/Hour" I thought it was too good to be true. It wasn't! (See copy of 11/13/12 craigslist posting below.) + Plusses: + Prompt callback from owner Joey Mariota. + Flexible, able to accommodate our dates & times. + No hidden fees, no extras, no minimums, no fuel charge, no extra distance charge, no extra charge for climbing stairs, no extra charge for heavy items, no price per person, no surprises. The rate was $55 per hour - period - and including two able-bodied guys and a 16 or 17-foot cube truck. + Large cube truck enables you to do one big move and ensures all your items are enclosed and not subject to the windward side rain! + Quick and fast. I thought I would have time to do some extra packing while they moved my household goods, but the hourly rate does not keep them from moving you as quickly as possible. I appreciate that professional courtesy. + When it became apparent we were going over the time we originally scheduled, Joey helped me organize what needed to be moved and what could go on the next date we scheduled. He was conscientious that we would have the items we needed for the day, stay within our price quote, and have enough to make a subsequent appointment worth our money. + FRIENDLY! + An agreement for someone to pick-up our sofa & loveseat fell through. Joey overheard my dilemma and found someone that wanted it & would pick it up - while he kept working! + When offloading at our destination - a three bedroom, 2 bath, 2-floor townhouse, Joey & helper brought items to the floor/room we designated. +/- Neutral: Nothing - all positives. - Minuses: Nothing - all positives. Overall: I personally recommend Joey Mariota & JJMovers. If you're moving, don't rent the truck and do all that hauling yourself. If you're buying that big item on craigslist, don't wait for your cousin's truck, pay for gas, and spend extra money buying lunch for his friends that do the heavy lifting.
