It was a pretty chilly morning, so I was definitely in the mood for a cup of hot coffee. Around Cafe is one of many shops around the station, which makes it very convenient. I can see myself becoming a regular if I lived in the area and had to take the train into Chicago for work. It's a nice little mom-n-pop store that's set up nice and cozy. I had a cup of espresso matcha latte, which was exactly what it sounded like. Definitely hit the spot for me. The place probably had maybe 5 to 7 tables for seating and most of them were occupied despite it being pretty early. Lady baristas were all very nice and lively, which made the atmosphere nice also. This was my one and only visit, so I don't like to settle on a verdict yet, but if I'm in the area, I can see myself visiting in the future.

There was a bit of a line to order and most of the seats were taken. We did find a table for four (there were five of us). They have extra seats stacked up by the trash bin so were able to seat all of us at the table. The extra chairs are a nice touch. We ordered a variety of drinks and pastries. (Sorry - I didn't take any pictures this time.) Since you select your pastries from display cases, we didn't have to wait for them. For our drinks, there was only a short wait - surprising since they were so crowded. Everything was delicious. When the location is full it can get pretty loud. We stayed for about 90 minutes and the place cleared out some by the time we left. The noise level dropped as people left. Tous Les Jours is very consistent across locations. This was our first visit to the Glenview store and we were very pleased.

And when I walked in, I realized I had done a complete renovation of the inside which looks fantastic. As usual everything is super eye catching great photographs although I did not take lots of photographs of the ambience or the interior decor but definitely do that when you visit here. Everything is super fresh very cute and definitely taste homemade and clean. You can tell from the box picture I picked up five different pastries that happen to be in the cases and available that particular day. Enter Tara, who said she'd try her best to make something special. She delivered an adorable bear on my drink! She said she might be able to do better, but I loved her effort and enthusiasm. My friend and I headed outside to enjoy our drinks on the patio. Several minutes later, Tara came outside carrying another latte. She had PERFECTED the latte bear and gave it to us for free! She made my entire day. Thank you to Tara for the amazing art and for going above and beyond in your customer service!! I can't wait to go back for my next coffee and hope she's working when I do.

The issue is everything seemed to be prepared too far in advance and was dry and crusty, so much of the bread of off-putting. Certain breads were worse than others but some of the bread was so hard and stale we didn't eat it. Same with the pastries. They had clearly been sitting in the fridge for a while and had a yellowish tint to the top that shouldn't have been there. They just looked off. Overall all items were not great because of that, ruined the meal. It doesn't feel good to pay that mic and remove bread, top of pastries, etc, just to avoid the hardened icky parts.
