Sriracha Caesar
Patrice B.

Bru never disappoints! Stopped in for lunch with my coworkers and tried the sriracha Caesar salad. So delicious but can be a little spicy depending on how much sriracha is drizzled on top. I added the blackened chicken for extra protein and it was cooked to perfection. Our server was amazing and gave everyone great recommendations. Will definitely return.

Provincial with coleslaw...Amazing!

Game day...looking for a good breakfast spot, but because it was game day...without a reservation we thought we were toast to get in anywhere. My niece remembered this burger joint and called to see if we could get in and they said YES! We got there about 11 am and got a great table where the boys could enjoy the London game in progress and the girls could get a nice view of the outside...win win!!! I ordered the Provençal that had goat cheese among other goodies on the burger...but really they had me at goat cheese. hub got a double patty burger with just the meat and cheese and got an order of fries..I opted for the coleslaw. This was no secondary choice fail because of no reservation elsewhere...this was a home run...and should be your first pick on game day if you want a great burger and I do emphasize GREAT! I could not get enough of the burger to goat cheese ratio...it was simply superb! Hub also loved his burger...as did Niece and Nephew who chose it as a back up plan. I would seek this out again in Cincinnati....it was really amazing. Our waitress was also top notch and the environment was sporty and very fun!

We were downtown and wanted to get a small bite to eat so stopped into Bru Burger Bar for an appetizer. Well...their burgers sounded so good that we ended up getting those instead of something small! I got the Bru Burger (Taleggio Cheese, Bacon, Tomato Jam, Caramelized Onion, Chopped Lettuce, Mayo) which was delicious! A little messy, in the best way possible, so I ate the second half open-faced, with a fork. The host who greeted us and our server were both very friendly and did a great job. We will definitely return when we are in the area.

Tasty yet not mind blowing. If you are in the mood for a casual meal that is tasty and not overly expensive, this place will do. They have a very good menu and drink choices. Family friendly, with outside sitting available. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Give it a bite and enjoy every one of them,

Bloody Mary

My second stop of the day before heading to the Yankees Reds game. The pretzels we received, the one I picked up was stale and hard. These were not supposed to be hard, it was supposed to be soft. Next the Bloody Mary was tasteless. I couldn't believe it. I was just about to send it back when I decided to give it a stir and then I started getting some flavor. Poor skills in the bartender. I must say that I am a born and raised New Yorker from the Bx and I'm used to a certain quality of food. Maybe what I are here was delicious for people born and raised in the Cincy area.

Triple Dip

We came to Bru before a show at the Aronoff - great choice!! It's been years since I'd been here and it did not disappoint. The drinks/food came out a bit slow, but they were very busy. The triple dip is a must have- this hummus and pimento cheese were seriously delicious! I'd ask for extra pita next time cuz we used it all and still had some dip left over! Adding chicken tenders to any salad is a great move also-- the chicken was perfectly cooked. Definitely a great downtown Cincinnati restaurant!

Black & blue burger

We had a great experience from start to finish. We were here for a seminar/conference So they had a good lunch rush all at once. We were seated quickly, greeted quickly with the best service by Eddie S. & we all thoroughly enjoyed our burgers & onion rings. Definitely a good spot for lunch or dinner. My cousin & I split a burger & at the end they easily split the cost on the ticket which was really convenient. I was pleasantly surprised by our experience today & will definitely go back.

Valencia
Andrea E.

My sisters and I loved Bru Burger! I had a delicious salad - the Valencia. It's really hard to find vegan options and they both loved the Impossible Burger. It was cold when we visited but plan on coming back when it warns up when they can open the open-air front section.

Almost forgot to take a picture, I enjoyed the patty melt but the onions rings were the winner! Gin lemon aid made it the perfect lunch
Dan S.

Great burgers and a fun atmosphere. Stopped in today for a breather from the hot day the lemonade gin drink suggested by our server was a perfect way to cool down. Ordered a patty melt and the suggested onion rings. Patty melt was juice and tasted good but those onion rings were some of the best I have ever had so crunchy and paired with the house made catsup it was unbelievably good. Server was very friendly and efficient. Definitely need to stop back soon!

Onion rings with that homemade ketchup

Here Visiting from Chicago... Bru came recommended from the hotel staff, and they hit it well. Ella was my server reccomended the Hot Chicken Sandwich and the Onion rings. Geez talk about a tender juicy chicken sandwich the louisville hot sauce was just perfect not too mild and not extremely spicy.......Delicious..... We cant forget aboit the fresh cut fries, cooked to perfection and salted properly........ But also the highlight was the homemade ketchup.... A Game Changer. All the staff is extremly friendly. Great atmosphere to enjoy a night out with that special someone, friends or family. Ella Thank You Once Again

Love this place! The food was delicious, (forgot to get pics). Had the pretzels and the Mexicali burger (sub chicken) and fries. Our server Rugi (I think I messed that up) was wonderful. Prompt and polite! And the restaurant was quiet with the Bengals game playing. Thank you for being open on such a cold day!

provencial burger

Incredible burgers as always, then provencial burger is always a great choice. Came here for cincy chili week and my friend loved the chili fries. Great vibe on a Thursday night, pretty empty in there around 8pm. Our waitress was hilarious!!! One of my favs in cincy.

Onion rings
Chelsey H.

YUM! We started with the Nashville hot chicken tenders, and they were perfectly breaded and delicious. The portion was definitely a shareable size. We then opted for the Buttermilk Cobb salad and got the larger one and had it split into two bowls to share. Again, super large and totally loaded. For the burger, we ordered the chipotle barbecue and a side of onion rings. As you can see from the photos when you bite the beer battered onion ring the breading did not fall off nor did the onion pull entirely out. They were done to perfection. The burger was full of flavor and cooked as requested. We chose these items because our server Miangel gave the recommendations. She asked us questions to narrow down the menu and we were super happy with our eats! Overall we had great service and great food.

The space is open, bright and well decorated making it very inviting for brunch. You order at the counter from the menus placed along the wall then food is delivered to your table. The various brunch items all sounded very inviting so I was having trouble deciding what to order. So I got a recommendation to try the Shakshuka. Not sure how to pronounce it but when it arrived it was just the right portion and quite tasty for brunch. It's a bowl with a red pepper sauce and feta cheese and kale along with eggs sunny side up. The dish is served with pita so you can do a little bit of dipping in the tasty sauce. To accompany our food we selected the mimosa service and bloody mary pitcher. A pitcher is just perfect for sharing. And the mimosa service was delightful. The server arrived with a bottle of Prosecco and small carafes of orange, grapefruit and blood orange juices to mix yourself. The food was fresh and tasty with prompt delivery of our food to our table. Not quite a full service restaurant since you have to order at the counter but still a nice experience located downtown.

From the moment we arrived, the hostesses were warm and accommodating, and the service throughout the meal was attentive without ever feeling intrusive. As someone with gluten allergies, I felt genuinely cared for. The team listened closely and offered recommendations that never felt like a compromise on flavor or creativity. We began with a dirty chai latte, aromatic and comforting, though I personally would have enjoyed a touch more sweetness. The dirty French, customized gluten free, was rich, decadent and deeply satisfying. It felt indulgent in the best way and showcased the kitchen's ability to balance comfort with culinary intention. To go, we ordered the crunchy chicken nuggets, fries and lemon ricotta pancakes. The fries were outstanding, perfectly crisp and addictive. My husband loved the pancakes, light and flavorful with a bright citrus note. The gluten free nuggets were enjoyable, though they did not quite reach the level I expected compared to the rest of the menu. Overall, Sacred Beast offers a dining experience where hospitality and thoughtful cooking meet effortlessly. Our server, McKenna, took great care of us the whole evening. She was friendly, engaging, accommodating, and just did an overall great job. Pro tip, go during happy hour for great prices on appetizers and drinks. The appetizer pricing was so good we were able to order more than planned. We got the duck fat fries, brussels sprouts, and buffalo chicken. The duck fat fries came with a delicious garlic aïoli. The brussels sprouts were just perfect. And the buffalo chicken with some of the best I've had in a long time. I had never had cock-a-leekie before, so I tried that too. It was a nice, warm, comfort food. For our entrées, several of us got fish and shrimp. It was delicious and the tartar sauce and cocktail sauce sauces were perfect. The highlighter of the evening for me was my mocktail. I noticed the drink menu had a cucumber elderberry drink, but I do not drink alcohol, so I ask if they would be willing to make something like it as a mocktail. It was genuinely one of the best mock tails I've ever had. It was so good. I asked if the bartender would mind sharing what she did so I could make some version of it at home. She happily obliged and wrote it down for me. Overall, a wonderful experience that will definitely have me recommending Nicholsons to friends and family!

If you prefer a quieter setting, then eating in the bar is your best bet because the dining rooms do get loud. We started with the east/west coast oysters and they were so fresh. The passion fruit mignonette was the perfect compliment. I kept scooping out tiny spoonfuls and drinking it after we finished the oysters. The Fluke Crudo was fantastic. The combo of flavors and textures was a delight for the palate. The scallops over the miso leek risotto was one of the best scallop dishes we have ever eaten. The scallops were huge and cooked perfectly and there were plenty of pieces of leek in a lovely, smooth risotto. We're not a fan of hijiki, so the chef prepared the risotto without it - Thanks Chef Jose! And you would think chicken schnitzel would be basic, but not this dish. The chicken was so moist, perfectly seasoned, and pan fried in butter. We asked for the sauce on the side because we knew we wouldn't finish the big piece and wanted to heat it up later and still be crispy (which we did). We were amazed that eating the chicken, almond, asparagus, and some sauce in one bite, was SO good. The best two meals we have had in Cincinnati so far in 2026 have been here, and Mita's. Chef Jose is a real talent.

Have been here four times and certainly feel comfortable with this rating. While ambiance and food…read moreare top rated, my experience fell flat when leadership failed to deliver. Walking in a bit awkward. One door is locked and the other is open. One has to guess correctly. The entrance is a little cramped. Goto the left for the bar or the right for the dining room. I've always enjoyed the open kitchen; the focus, hustle, and discipline is admirable and fun to watch. Decor is modern. Feels upscale. One can make this a casual date or dress it up for a bigger night out. All of our wait staff have been polite and are good at timing visits. The food offered here and all of Salazar's restaurants is excellent. Most recently, we enjoyed the lobster rolls, fried oysters sandwich, fries, steak, and scallops. Two desserts were taken to go. Each dish, no matter how advanced or simple, presented with elegance, perfect spice and texture, and spot on internal temps. Certainly it's the excellent cooking that justifies the $300 check that chased this outstanding experience. Everything I've mentioned is positive. Where do the two stars come from? Well in our last visit, we took dessert to go. We utilized valet that Salazars/Mitas contracts. It took forty minutes for our car to get to us. Forty. Minutes. We got ice cream as a part of a dessert to go. While one could argue we are taking a risk, and I agree, we actually had a cooler in the back of the car that was ice cold from earlier in the day. Thusly we felt we were taking a calculated risk. We get our car, see the ice cream is melted, and I go back. I explain the situation to the hostesses. The GM shows up and I provide a gentle explanation. Following this I say I'd like to the replace the included ice cream but end up ordering a couple other flavors. I get cashed out - no apology for the under performing valet, no offer to cover the melted scoop, just take my money and move forward. I understand that nothing is owed to me. I understand that restaurants aren't successful by giving out hand outs. My frustration comes with the lack of recognition of arguably restaurant error, the fact that loyalty means nothing, and that spending nearly $300 (or how much four visits cost in less than a year), including a kitchen tip, wasnt enough.
