I would love to actually write a review on their service but considering they never showed up I can't. I made an appointment for 10:30am (the first appointment of the day) which means I had to take off work because usually I'm at work at 9:30 so it didn't make sense for me to go into work then to leave then to go back to work so I told my boss I would be in around noon. So I am missing money at this point. 10:35 rolls around, no one shows up. 10:40 rolls around so I decide to call. They don't answer, I leave a message. 10:55 finally rolls around I decide to call again (mind you at this point I had already left because I needed to get to work which was an hour away) finally somebody picks up the phone: Stephanie. The conversation went as follows; Me: hi I had an appointment at 10:30 and it's almost 11 and I was waiting Silence Me: I mean we're you guys open did somebody forget to call me to reschedule the appointment? Stephanie: oh yeah I just got here. Me: ok Stephanie: yes sorry about that. But I'm here now Me: OK well I have a job like you and I had to leave to make it on time. So I won't be coming back. *hangs up I am so pissed because I missed hours of work which I barely get any hours from anyway. I feel like it's very unprofessional and the fact that she didn't even try to win my business back is even more unprofessional considering they were almost a fucking half hour late for an appointment that I scheduled. I never write reviews but I'm so mad I decided to stop in my tracks and write this while I am driving to work. These people will never earn my business or any of my friends business which is unfortunate because I've heard good things about them but Quality does not matter if service is terrible. read more

I used to like this place a lot but the last couple times I have tried to go there no one has answered the phone or if I called and left a voicemail no one would ever get back to me. At one point they didn't even have a voicemail set up yet so I was an able to even say that I would like to make an appointment but what's the point of having a voicemail where are you say you will get back to the person if you don't even call them back so that the person can make an appointment I highly doubt they even check the voicemails. It's so annoying when you used to like a place but they have just gone downhill so fast. Also if I'm ever at the mall I can't just walk in and get anything done because there is always a sign up that says "they'll be back" but they don't come back for hours. read more

I came here with one of those groupon/livingsocial/twongo deals for a Brazilian wax. This place lacks a bit on the "legit" scale as they're in a small corner of the mall, but not listed at all in the mall map/directory. When I went there was one girl manning the front desk and doing everything else (waxings, etc). The "rooms" are small partitions closed off from mall traffic by a cloth curtain. People would walk in and she would call out to them while doing the Brazilian and there was just a cloth curtain shielding me (no door, etc). I felt as if I was getting some black market, alleyway Brazilian. BrowZnAround use hard wax for Brazilians, which I hear is the way to go and isn't common in the Triangle. While the girl was friendly, she was not very thorough. I've had Brazilians before and they're usually really "detail-oriented" and will even flip you on your stomach to check out the back end of things. This girl did not, she took around 10 minutes with the hard wax (no tweezers to double check for strays) and then told me to get on my merry way. Would I recommend BrowZnAround for Brazilians? NO. Their prices aren't cheaper than more legitimate spa places and the whole setting was just really awkward. read more

HORRIBLE BUSINESS. I bought a Living Social coupon. I called for 10 MONTHS to get an appointment. When I finally got an appt THEY cancelled on me invalidating my LS coupon. They finally responded to my LS review 7 MONTHS LATER. I would never put my care in the hands of such a shoddy business that rarely returns calls and when they do it is 5 months later. It appears it is one person that runs the whole set up from the reviews. When they cancelled on me they said they just lost two employees. NOT HAPPY with their lash dip SPECIAL! Was told to come back in 2-3 weeks for a touch up. Went on 12/1 and tried to make an appointment for a touch up today, but because of the holidays, nothing was available today or tomorrow -only after the holidays. However, because it's past the 3 week mark, I would have to pay full price for a new application. Stephanie offered $40 off the price making the out of pocket cost $85. Really? I have to pay again because of circumstances? NOT RIGHT! If you do go here, I suggest you get the special (what's offered) in writing or you'll end up getting short changed! I had my eyebrows done here about 2months ago, and the individual doing the service was very slow at it, causing a much more increased pain experience than what I've had in past at a location in Durham (WAH Brow). The end result was fine, but why take longer and be more painful for a sub-par result. read more

I too had a groupon/livingsocial thingy so I went for an eyebrow waxing with consultation. The consultation consisted of making three dots on the arch of my eyebrow, where it should be. This was not exactly rocket science. Then the woman/receptionist waxed my eyebrows. She did not ask me to close my eyes (hey what happens if she drops hot wax in my eyes). I have had at least 25 eyebrow waxings and they always remind you to close your eyes. It was not painful and she filled in one of my eyebrows with powder so I could see what it would look like at it's optimum best. And she left the other one for a moment with just my brow to compare. But then before you knew it she filled in the other one and voila, I was done. This all took 10 minutes but the room was not very bright and when I took a shower the next morning, I could see many straw eyebrows that she should have tweezed off. Would I ever return? Was she thorough? Was this a sales pitch to have her tell me about brow tinting, permanent makeup? No, No and Yes. I saw that BrowZnAround had a Groupon deal going on. I called to find out when they would have any availability for the service that I was interested in because I was not going to purchase a Groupon if I could not get appointment within 14 days. I was ask if I was a Groupon customer and I said yes. Stephanie informed me that she wouldn't be able to see me until August 22,2012. I called back later because I had a feeling that she would be willing to see someone without a Groupon a lot sooner. Boy was I right. I called back and inquire about the same service. She ask me did I have a groupon and I said no. I told her I was looking for something next week and she told me what she had open for that week. I don't think it's acceptable for a company to advertise a groupon and then make the non groupon customers there number one priority before Groupon customers. I do understand the merchant gets only half of the total price of what they're selling and I know they would rather get the full price from a non groupon customer but they know that;s the way it is when they advertise their business on Groupon read more

Not impressed. I went off of help recommendations. We just moved here and I'm an esthetician. I went to get threaded and the girl is not there today so I got waxed instead. The technician never talked to me or asked what I wanted, she dropped wax in my lashes and pulled it off!! She pulled the wax strip off my brows straight upward, not across as your supposed too and of course left a bruise and to top it off, she was talking on the phone while doing it! read more

I am usually able to get appointments quickly. I have been a regular, getting eyebrow waxing and the occasional eyelashes. While I can surely pay less to get my service done elsewhere, I have not been pleased with the quality for the cheaper price, so I'll continue to get my superior service with Browzn Around. read more

Had my lower eyeliner done. The first problem is that it was about the most painful thing I could imagine, I have a high threshold for pain and I didn't think I was going to make it through the whole procedure. Second, I wanted a pretty thin line and it was too thick and too dark. I would have thought that was just how it is, but I went to "Make up by Dawn" for the upper lids and she did an AMAZING job. The way she numbed my upper eyelids left me only feeling basically a tickle when she did it. The line was so perfect and the two experiences were night and day different. read more

THE WORST!!! I wish i could post photos to show the damage done! My lip was burned due to an "aesthetician" incompetents. I woke up the next morning to burn scars on my top lip! I went there yrs ago to get perm eyeliner. Stephanie was rude. When I'd asked on the phone how long she'd been doin the service; she had an attitude. This is my FACE; I hav a right to know how experienced someone is; but I discounted tht as her just havn a bad day. She was rude/ not personable at all during both my visits as well. Also she put on numbing cream but sd it would wear off bf she finished. Oc it did; and I white knuckled it through the rest. I'm posting this now; bc in going to another business to redo my liner; the experience was NIGHT and DAY... who knew tht they could reapply numbing cream throughout the procedure.... I was desperate to get my eyebrows done and this is a very convenient location being inside the mall. It was $20 for a basic eyebrow wax. The gal did an amazing job but I thought it was way overpriced. I'm sure they have to keep their prices high to afford the rent. This place is terrible. I went there for sugaring services - bikini and full leg. Can't find any other places for sugaring in the triangle area. First, they took over 90 minutes to complete. I've had other places complete it in half that time. Seriously. Second, the place was filthy. It's clear that the sink in the room where I was hadn't been used or cleaned in months. Hair and dust all over. Third, the service was awful. There was only 1 employee there, and instead of letting phone calls go to their machine, she answered the phone while she was doing my hair removal! She scheduled an appointment for someone to come after me. Rude and contributed to the 90 minute appointment. She also decided to switch sugars (from paste to wax) for certain areas WITHOUT EVEN TELLING ME OR ASKING ME. She just did it. I tried to ask, and she said that wax was faster. It had already been an hour, so I went along with it, but come on - ask first. Also, given that she switched to wax, it should have been over way sooner. She almost forgot a whole portion of my leg - she said "well we're pretty much done," and I said "ummm are you going to do my left lower leg??" She also almost forgot to put oil/lotion/anything on afterward. Next, the price. Oh my gosh, it was over $100 for the service, NOT including a tip! They offer a student discount, but only if you specifically ask for it at checkout. I spent most of my appointment talking to the girl about how I was a student. She didn't remember or remind me or ask if I wanted the discount. Bad job of trying to keep my business - they should offer something for first-time customers or remember their discounts and offer what they can, to make you want to come back. When I got home, I found tons of patches she had MISSED! 90 minutes and she still didn't actually get it all?! Are you kidding me? I called to try and get my money back, but the manager was out of the office. By the time I reached her, my payment had already been processed. She put me on hold when I called, and it was clear from the conversation that followed when she came back that she had put me on hold so that she could go ask the employee I had for her side of the story. She refused to believe my service was as bad as I said it was, and completely stuck up for her employee - what happened to 'the customer is always right'? She wouldn't give me a refund, and the only offer she gave was that if I wanted, I could come back and they would fix the parts that she missed the first time, for free. She also said I could get a discount on coming back for the next service. But I NEVER WANTED TO GO BACK BECAUSE IT WAS SO BAD THE FIRST TIME! So I was out $120, with hairy patches on my legs, ingrown hairs, almost 2 hours of time, and a lot of frustration. Wish I could give this place negative stars. read more

I was incorrectly charged for a service which the employee promised I would receive a call from the manager/owner and would be reimbursed, which neither happened. I went there because no one else in the area did the brazilian sugaring (I've been getting it done for over 8 years in Canada). I walked in and had a gut wrenching feeling that this was not going to be good. I pushed through as I figured, you never know. First I wasn't impressed with only having a divider between me and the mall while I have no pants on, second she used sooo much baby powder that it got all over my shirt. She got hot sugar all over me and my shirt. I have to admit it was the quickest sugaring in my life, I guess that's what happens when you take the hairs and skin off all at once. I left and was burning soo bad I knew that some of the skin was gone. I could not wait to get on a plane a few weeks later and make an appointment at a professional spa with certified estheticians. I don't know if I would ever trust anyone else by my usual estheticians. oh and the one woman show wasn't even dressed professionally. I went in to get eyelash extensions and they were the worst things I've ever put on my eyelids. First of all they were put on the bottom of my eyelashes which is never done if done correctly. Second the amount of glue that was used was excessive and it made my eyes irritated. I only had them on for three days and I just had to get them removed. On the last day the lashes looked crooked and molded together which was definitely not the look I was going for. I will never be visiting this store again or getting eyelash extensions. I am very displeased with this work not to mention this service was 50 dollars with a discount! If I could give this store zero stars I would. read more

I was pleasantly satisfied with my eyebrow waxing yesterday. I stumbled into this place after checking out the options on the mall directory. Yes, it is a one woman show, but that is not uncommon for a small establishment. There is a sign in sheet on the counter which is pretty self explanatory. When she completed the service with the customer she came out and greeted me right away. The eyebrow consultation is quick, but that's ok. What impressed me was how well she arched my brows. I have always looked longingly at those blessed with nice thick brows. She managed to sculpt my brows so well, that I could have the shape that I thought was impossible without making my brows pencil thin, aka 70's style. I couldn't stay out of the mirror today I was so pleased with my brows. I've had threading in Chicago the last 5 years and only once or twice has anyone gotten it right. I chatted it up with another customer in the waiting area and she says she has been coming here faithfully the last 4years. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area. read more

I have had multiple bad experiences at this particular location (Triangle Towne Center).It seems as if staffing as well as overall professionalism is severely lacking here. From the revolving door of employees,to the owner having no interpersonal skills I can't understand how they've stayed in business this long. I have made appointments here and had to wait for more than 30 mins ( although I showed up on time) only to be told that the person I'd been waiting on is handling a "personal issue" and won't be back for an hr. I decided at that point that if I did return I'd just schedule my appointments with the manager/owner because that way it would ensure Id be taken care of right ? WRONG I called to make an appointment with Stephanie (the owner) and spoke with her personally to confirm the time. Once I arrived I was told by Stephanie that a) I did not have an appointment, b) she'd never talked to me, & c) that I'd need to come back in 30 mins because "she had some things to step out and take care of" mind you folks I had an appointment set & confirmed. Long story short I expressed my dissatisfaction with the owner only to be called a liar and that "its unfortunate this seems to keep happening to you" so it's my fault that I make appointments that never happen because everyone has more important things to do than their jobs ....lol actually what's unfortunate is that at a time where business are closing down and going out of business that you would not treat paying customers with respect and value their time. Please do not waste your time with this shop. The owner Stephanie Williams is very UNPROFESSIONAL and her customer service is HORRIBLE. I had an appointment at 4:00 pm with Stephanie that was made 1 week ago. I live one hour away and got to the store at 3:50 pm. Stephanie came out and stated that she was running late but would be with me in 15 minutes. Two other women came in at the same time as well. At 4:00 pm another employee came in and Stephanie told her that I was next. I told the employee that I was waiting for Stephanie to do my eyebrows. Stephanie came out and said that it would be 1 hour before I would be seen. She had other people in front of me despite me having an appointment. After I explained the situation, she still stated it would be 1 hour, even though the error was made by Stephanie and her staff. Obviously, she has never had a customer service course. I am a repeat customer, but will NEVER go back to this shop. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! Go next door to the threading shop across the street. Customer service is much better, wait times are better, and the price is much better, and your eyebrows look awesome. Not worth the hassle dealing with an unprofessional store owner! read more
