I was somewhat near City Centre and had been wanting to try Brother's Pizza. I was intrigued because NYC style pizza is one of my favorite pizza styles. Also, they serve pizza by the slice, and that's a rarity nowadays The interior reminds me of a New York pizza parlor, but more spacious. It's nothing fancy, just tables, cut-outs and pictures on the walls, and an open seating layout The staff were fine. It felt more like a New York experience than a Texas/kore southern experience, but not in a bad way. Sort of added to the overall ambiance and experience The menu offers a variety of classic and signature pies, pastas, hot and cold subs, as well as many different appetizers, drinks, desserts, and much more I ordered the Brother's special which was practically a supreme pizza. It was good. The crust was crispy on the outside, but not too delicate or tough. The dough in the middle was a little soft/doughy, but the flavors were fine. I also had cheese sticks with marinara, and they were typical cheese sticks I may come back, but it's a little out of the way for me. If I do some back it will be to try on a slice by slice basis and not an entire pie Some tips: They're open 10am-11pm most nights, but they're closed on Sundays. It looks like their online menu doesn't show which ingredients are on the signature pizzas like the Brother's special, so, you might want to call and order just to confirm There were a couple panhandlers waiting out front by the door when I left, and I had a to-go box. I've been to the other location in Cypress area and really enjoyed it. So wanted to bring the family on a Friday night. This location was closer to home so we went here. The staff, SUPER friendly...10 stars! Family style and very welcoming, really enjoyed that! The menu options are less then the other location, so was disappointed they didn't have some of the items I wanted to order for the fam. Wish they were more consistent on that. Big ups they had Pepsi! Pepsi and pizza (Pie as they call it) just hit! Now let me warn you, don't come here on a diet or wanting healthy. This pizza is made fresh! Comes out piping hot. Is it greasy, sure is, but it is delicious! The pepperoni is the right crisp! The slices are huge! Of course, that depends on which size "pie" you get. Next go we'll ensure we try dessert. I love an evenly cooked pizza!!! Every bite had a crisp to it and the cheese had the perfect balance of seasonings. Not too much bread, just how I like it. The salad was alright. It was doused in dressing and olives. You can tell this is a local hot spot because it remained busy and if they weren't dining in, they were taking out. The moment I arrived in Houston, I was told this was the closest thing I'd find to a true New York pizza spot. I'm always a little skeptical of bold claims, but seeing as Energy Corridor is one of my favorite neighborhoods (#1), I was more than happy to check out Brother's Pizzeria. While it doesn't resemble a NY pizzeria (#2), the interior was a different story with.Dollar bills on the walls, semi-awkward office style florescent lighting, photo frames of family and famous folks, no frills seating, and plenty of locals sitting around during all facets of the day. Essentially the vibe was on point. Food wise, it's a valiant effort. I think the pizza is excellent choice for Houston but in NYC, this would be prety good. Unlike the other places in the city, I can see that they use a proper oven and the pies mostly pass the visual test. The density is seems good, since the slices are even and thin + wide, which is a marker for a quality pie. I think the sauce skews on the sweeter side, but that's a preference thing at the end of the day. The only part where I felt they missed it ever-so-slightly was the crust. It's probably just the guy in the back that made the pies that day, but the crusts were inconsistent with other slices coming out. Some were slightly rounded with a good handle, some were a tinge thicker, but by no means is this a deal breaker. Overall the pizza composition was on point, even if some of the slices look super legit while some might not look the part. It reminds me of places run by New Yorkers who have been out of the tri-state for several decades. While I realize that their other foods is not their main attraction, I did appreciate the heartiness of their stromboli and hot subs, the sauciness of their wings, and the fact they actually offer chicken and eggplant parm. The latter is not their best work, but I am hoping I'll get a crack at their manicotti, lasagna, and ziti in future visits. The service is top notch. The guys running the counter remind me of places in East Queens where it feels like a family run biz. The prices are solid considering they actually sell by the slice (#3) and it all includes tax. The parking is abundant and like so many pizzerias back in NY, they're closed on Sundays. ___________ (#1) One of the most slept-on neighborhoods. You read that right, EC is lit. Brother's Pizza has been my go to for some time now! I usually order a classic pepperoni pizza (maybe add mushrooms or green bell pepper) -- it's everything you want: crispy edges and great flavor. Can't believe I only found out about this pizzeria recently and I've been in Houston all my life!! When you walk in the New York style ambience and pizza smell hits you in the face! I found this place while searching for the best New York style pizza in Houston. While I've never been to New York, I will say that this is one of the best pizzas I've ever had! I've only tried a couple, one being the brother's special and it was awesome! They were very courteous while I ordered and I appreciated the way they treated their customers. It's not a fancy place, but it's nice enough with local decor. I noticed one reviewer mentioned panhandlers, which there are sometimes one or two. They haven't been troublesome, maybe just with noting. I wish I lived closer to this place, unfortunately I'm over an hour away and I can't get there very often, but I recommend it to as many of my friends seeking out good pizza in the big town. read more

The pizza here isn't just made with love, but with brotherly love. The somewhat rambunctious and fast-paced environment of this joint feels homey. These brothers throw down with their pizza, pretty much indistinguishable from a true New York slice. The Garlic bread was slightly above average , but the pizza is good enough to write home about. The cheese is the vocal point of the slice, but don't sleep on the excellent flavor profile of the thin red sauce base. Also I feel I must mention how my beautifully forgetful partner was on the brink of abandoning her purse (it's not her fault), before one heroic brother chased us down to our car to return it. Walked in, ordered a "16 large pie - half pepperoni/mushrooms and the other half ham/pineapples to go, and 10-15 minutes later got an amazing piping hot NY-style for around $23.81 A bunch of the employees and owner was standing around being friendly to all of the patrons, joking that they're over 50 years old, etc. Nice vibes all around. The pizza dough was well-made with a slight sweet umami to it, the tomato sauce wasn't too salty or bland - just right with a nice tangy sweetness, the cheese was good, and the toppings were generous. The quality of the toppings could have been slightly better in some areas but I am not complaining. I can see why this place was busy during Saturday lunch hours. It's amazing how far gone this generation is with smart phones. I think I could've walked into the shop completely naked and nobody would've noticed. The guy at the counter (wearing a tank top at work by the way) was in a passionate relationship with his phone and barely acknowledged my existence. Finally I asked if anybody worked here who could help me and he proceeded to make excuses without apology for ignoring me. Brother's Pizzeria on Katy Freeway and Highway 6 has been part of my life since I attended Westside HS down the road in the 2000s. As a teenager, my taste buds were different and I didn't interact much with the employees-I just grabbed my order, ate, and left. Today, I decided to return to the Energy Corridor for some nostalgia and I am truly amazed by what I discovered. The interior hasn't really changed much, it's fairly modest which is a nice change of pace from the bustling (and expensive) city. There are patches of local and New York police and fire departments on the wall, a couple of TVs playing sports games (in this instance one was playing Italian soccer and the other was playing Texas Tech college basketball). The decor probably needs some work, but I'm a guy and I'm here for pizza so it doesn't concern me. I am encouraged to see many other Yelpers comment on the friendliness of the staff. This is great because I've seen other comments saying the opposite, and in my (several) years of patronizing this establishment I have never felt anything but positive vibes from the employees. They are really chill, they are focused on making pizzas, and I can tell that these employees are comfortable here. Brother's is a well run establishment and I think the entire Greater Houston area should get to know the owner, Joe B. and his dad who also works here. Before I go any further, please look up Dave Portnoy's review of Brother's Pizzeria on YouTube. His opinion of the pizza is mostly irrelevant because he doesn't take into account the the economics involved nor the entire culture and atmosphere at Brother's. Joe B. and his dad show up in the first couple of minutes or so, and believe me when I say that Joe almost always wears a Yankee hat and provides service with a smile. Now. The pizza is consistent, it tastes pretty much the same every single time I go which is great because I can expect the same quality. This is not a negative comment, but the pizza does not deserve five stars. I would give it 3.7 to 4 stars at best, but you have to consider that the pizza slices are ridiculously cheap compared to other so called New York style pizzerias in the Greater Houston area. I ordered two slices of pepperoni pizza at $3.50 each plus a fountain drink, which was a total of about $9. I don't need a five star pizza from this place because the slices are consistent and the customer service is above anything I've ever seen at a pizzeria. I know because I've worked at Pizza Hut and Luigi's Pizzeria in Bellaire growing up. I asked Joe, "How is it possible that you're selling $3 cheese slices in the Energy Corridor with so many competitors down the road?" He told me that they haven't changed the prices in several years despite several economic downturns, COVID, and natural disasters that Houston has faced. The Energy Corridor community rallies around Brother's because of its customer service, and Joe B. the owner deserves to be recognized by his efforts. So, a resounding five stars for all of the reasons listed above. If you want a better slice and have some time to kill, I recommend that you ask for a crispier crust. Brother's is worth going to, I love seeing good honest leaders in action, and I hope that you hop off your device and head straight away to Brother's as soon as you can! read more

I would classify Brothers as a moderately fancy pizza spot, in that the price point is higher than what you can get at lower quality joints. Focusing on Brothers, the pizza is decent. Picked up here to treat my party to something slightly nicer than the norm, but not quite an artisanal pizza (which I think is not good for casual since it means the group should be focused on the eating of the pizza). This is good NY style pizza I've had (it is leagues better than Russo's but not Homeslice). I'd recommend it, and you may need to fatten up your slice since this pizza seems lighter than others -- which I personally liked about it. Load on meat or whatever. read more

I couldn't speak higher for the hospitality of Joe, the owner. Now to the food. I had two slices of Pizza that was delicious. My son had the lasagna and he said it was legit. So 5 Stars for the good. I have been venturing in Houston trying to find a good spot for pizza. In my opinion Houston pizza is not good. I guess the handful of times I've been to New York that my standards are a bit higher. To my surprised Brother's Pizzeria was delicious. Here's what I ordered (all New York style) Pepperoni pizza- Fresh, hot, cheesy, decent undercarriage & nice crust. It was a bit greasy but I understand that pepperoni will do that. It was a good slice of pizza but kind of floppy, I like mine a little more firm. 3.8/5 Classic Cheese pizza- Textbook. Crust was delicious & had great texture. Cheese was cooked to perfection & very good undercarriage. I was able to do a semi fold & the pizza didn't flop. 4.5/5 Veggie pizza- pretty much the same as the cheese pizza but I'll say the cheese could've been cooked in the oven for another 1-2 mins. It was still good nonetheless. 4/5 The service was fantastic, they treat you like family there. I got to speak with the owner & he told me he's from Brooklyn. I appreciate him for bringing some good NYC style pizza into Houston, because we need it. I also like that you can see them making your pizza from scratch. I have been ordering pizza from this place for months and it has been good until now. I ordered 14" pizzas. One with pepperoni and the other with Italian sausage. The Italian sausage was fine but the pepperoni was burnt! I cannot believe that they do not check these pizzas before they give them to the customer. I called and complained and they said I have to go and return the pizza so they can look at it. This is ridiculous! I don't have time to be going back and forth because they cannot bake their pizzas properly. And I'm not even going to go into how unprofessional they are as well.
