We've gotten take out from the San Mateo location before, and enjoyed it. So I was thrilled to see another Brothers Cafe location open up closer to us. Come Labor Day, little guy was craving some pancakes, and not wanting to go to Stacks, I suggested Brothers. Yes, it is very Crepevine-esque. We ordered at the front and found a booth. They do have a kids menu, but my carb loving son, can devour a whole huge pancake from Stacks, and since the kids pancakes was just one smaller one, we decided to order off the regular menu for him and tackle the leftovers after. I got the bananas foster french toast, and hubs got a combo egg, bacon and short stack plate. Little guy liked his buttery pancakes and fresh apple juice, hubs thought his plate was solid. I tend to not just order a carb heavy breakfast anymore, at least without any protein on the side. But the bananas foster French toast was so worth all the carbs and sugar spike! The bananas were perfectly caramelized, fluffy thick brioche toast, and I poured the right amount of syrup, and the cinnamon cream was light but delectable. There's free parking in the parking lot outside of the are, which takes the pressure off knowing parking is not an issue. I ordered the Sonoma salad, which was a lightly dress salad with fresh tomatoes, feta, braised, onions, and topped with a fresh order seasoned, juicy salmon fillet. We were greeted by a lady, no hello, or good morning, just a "are you ready". I ordered the Grand Special (fresh ground angus chuck, mushrooms, onions, spinach, oregano, parmesan cheese 17.95), hubby ordered the short stack and the son ordered 2x2x2. We all enjoyed the food. Thank you for opening up this location in Millbrae! The girlfriend and I, no longer have to drive to South San Francisco to enjoy your breakfasts. The food is just as great, if not even better, than their SSF location. We definitely needed another breakfast option in the area. If you're visiting or live in the area, definitely check them out. There are plenty choices on their menu and the service is super attentive and friendly. At this point, this is our third visit and everything has been delicious. If you are a biscuits and gravy fan, you're gonna love theirs. The last time I went there, I had the Souvlaki and it was mind blowing, definitely get that for lunch. You stand in line to order and then take your number to your table - minimal service in the traditional sense but I was very impressed by the service. The cashier took extra care to figure out the best (and least expensive way to take my order (yes it was complicated.) He double checked to confirm there wasn't an inside table available even after I conceded that an outside table would be ok. Last and the most impressive, when the bus boy came to deliver the condiments to the table and it wobbled a bit, rather than continue on his business he actually stopped and worked on the table a bit, stabilizing it. I've waited 84 years for this Brothers Cafe location in Millbrae to finally open. I work nearby and I pass by this spot while it was still in the works, hoping it would open soon because I've always been a big fan of the Grand Ave location in South San Francisco. The ambiance is basically the same, but in a slightly smaller space. Parking is easy since there is a big parking lot. There's still some outdoor seating options and their menu is the same. The staff are all extremely friendly and attentive. I ordered the Deep Sea Sandwich ($19.95) which is honestly one of my favorite salmon sandwiches ever. The grilled salmon was thick and juicy. The arugula and red onions are great toppings. What makes the sandwich even better is the dijon-caper aioli that they use. The ciabatta bread is also great for the sandwich with how perfectly toasted it is. It provides that little bit of crunch with the sandwich. I would highly recommend this or any of their sandwiches. Not to mention their crispy and properly seasoned fries and a side salad. I was stuffed after my meal. They are always generous with the portions. I love this for Millbrae. Bright, airy spot for quality food and now open till 8pm on weekdays! I had the Gilroy Benedict, which had creamed spinach, artichoke and garlic. Delicious, but I almost forgot that it was supposed to have artichoke in it. I couldn't find any in the Benedict unless it was diced so finely that it was hidden in the spinach. My husband got the weekend special: pork chili verde with eggs. Pork was tender and flavorful. Verde was delicious. Huge portion. I'm planning to steal his leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Prices were comparable to other breakfast/brunch places. We went at 8:30 am on Sunday and there were only a few occupied tables.
