Pat Keenan, the owner, was the salesperson and oversaw the project end to end. He kept us informed throughout the entire process, they were able to get to us within a few weeks, and they found a lot of ways to add value beyond the scope of work. The crews were all very professional. At the end of the project I noticed a few screens were ripped during the project and Pat personally came over to pick them up and get them rescreened. We love our new home and will definitely use Keenan in future projects!

It's difficult to conduct any business during the COVID-19 crisis, but Rusco understood our concerns and waited until we were ready. When the day came to install the windows, the crew took much less time than I anticipated and left the house cleaner than it was before. (do not tell my wife I said this) When you combine a great product with great service, you get a great customer experience. I highly recommend Rusco if you need windows or doors.

He…read morewas everything you'd want in a sales guy: professional, not pushy, personable and very responsive through the process. We sat with four companies, and Leo sold us on the history of Rusco, quality of craftsmanship and lifetime warranty. We started the process at the start of Sept. and our door was up at the start of Nov. With the cost of the door north of $6K, I was really expecting the contractors to do a seamless job, but that is where Rusco fell short. They were VERY quick to install and during the process chipped our new railing. I understand they were working in a small space, but it couldn't have been the first time working in such a confined location. After they left, the doorframe was not what I had expected in terms of high quality work. I would think they would have enough stain to spare for the ends of the top of the frame (I brought this up to the contractors and they said they didn't have any stain left). There is also white coming through the top doorframe. I reached out to Leo and he told me to wipe it with a wet towel (which obviously already tried prior to reaching out). They assumed it was sheet rock and thought it was dust. The wet cloth did nothing...Leo called on 11/11 and asked if he and another guy could stop by, which they did on that day. The first thing they tried to do was wipe it with a wet cloth (again had already tried that) and then nothing. They were perplexed and said they'd come back the following week with stain and fix it up. It has been radio silence since this moment. Overall, we really do love our door. It is beautiful, but we could have received the same exact door from a number of other companies and we have some regrets with selecting Rusco. After paying the money we have, we should not have to chase and we feel the job should have been completed seamlessly. You live and you learn.

Unfortunately the output of the work did not earn my 5 stars. I contracted for (1) wall / ceiling…read morepainting, (2) a new door installation for bathroom (3) flooring work for ~500sqft in my studio. The company did a good job in (1) and (2). But when it comes to the flooring work, a few things happened: a. The majority of my purchased laminate materials was wasted due to installation challenges resulted from uneven subfloors: Before project started, I explicitly confirmed with the company on the product I intended to purchase and received the thumbs up. When my original carpet was removed, the contractor quickly found out that my subfloor was uneven, which present challenges to installation. With two attempts using almost all the materials, we concluded the product was not viable unless we either level the floor. That decision could have been made earlier b. The vinyl installation was suboptimal: Then I suggested I go together to pick a more flexible vinyl product with the contractor. As you can see in the picture, the installation was sub-optimal. The contractor attempted to float the vinyl but multiple pieces popped up after installation. Then an attempt to glue down some of the pieces was pursued. What you see on the picture was the outcome. At this point, this project has started since two months ago. I do not know what else can be done, nor do I want to push for another cycle of reinstallation so I closed the project. The other day, I walked in the new ORD airport pedestrian walkway. The vinyl planks there were well installed despite the fact the ORD subfloor was not even either. Typically, I'd expect the output of a residential project to be higher quality than commercial space, presumably due to smaller space. Am I missing something? I appreciate the hard work but I really cannot give thumbs up to the output. This is an investment property. I don't even know how my future renters would value the home improvement after spent more than five thousand dollars on it.

A Truly Outstanding Experience…read more After years of putting it off, I finally decided to replace the siding on my home--and I'm so glad I did. From the very first consultation, I felt like I was in good hands. Paul and Eddie took the time to understand what I wanted, answered all my questions patiently, and helped me choose a style that really brought out the character of my house. Watching the transformation was incredible. The crew showed up on time every day, worked with care and precision, and treated my home like it was their own. They even caught a few small issues under the old siding and fixed them without hesitation--something I really appreciated. What really stood out to me was their attention to detail. Every edge, corner, and trim was done perfectly. And when they finished, they left the yard spotless. It was like they were never there--except now my house looks brand new! Since the installation, I've had neighbors stop by just to compliment the new look. It's not just about curb appeal either--I've already noticed the house feels better insulated and quieter inside. If you're thinking about new siding, don't wait as long as I did. This was one of the best home improvement decisions I've made, and I can't recommend Herzing highly enough.

Glass Block Factory did an excellent job replacing my 7-block x 7-block glass block window!…read more First, we discussed the job on the phone. I was undecided about whether to replace the 3 glass blocks with issues or the replace entire window. Glass Block Factory made an on-site visit to assess the window itself and the inside and outside area around the window. Since the window was above an unpaved gangway and on the second-floor scaffolding was necessary for the job. Glass Block Factory provided estimates to replace just the 3 blocks and to replace the entire glass block window. The pros and cons of each option was explained with no pressure. Since the window was 20 years old and there were some grout issues with other glass blocks in the window, I decided to replace the entire window. On the scheduled date, the team arrived. Scaffolding was setup outside the window. Drop cloths were placed inside to contain the debris. The removal of the original window and the installation of the new window was done with skill and efficiency. Work areas were cleaned up prior to their departure. I would recommend Glass Block Factory for glass block window replacement.

However, every time I venture in or out of my house, I cringe at the horrible work that was done. And how much I paid for it! Some of the mortar work is already falling apart. Not cool. To his defense, Patrick did not do the work but had either hired someone, or it was an employee of his, either way, this old man had no business touching anyone's house. He was clearly incompetent. It's Patrick's responsibility to hire those skilled at their craft, IMO. The pictures speak for themselves. Unfortunately, this is just incredibly poor, poor work.
