Got my softail serviced earlier this year. Oil, primary, and tranny fluid. I have air ride suspension and can no longer remove the tranny oil plug without disconnecting the tranny on the frame side. It is just easier to pay to get it done now. They took care of it. The tech is a good guy. The owner is too. One tip though. Don't get inspection done here. They don't do it onsite and send it around the corner. The oil service took only 30-40 minutes... waiting for the inspection took one hour. Luckily they have a bunch of bikes in the front to take a look at and I had nothing to do that day. I will be using them to winterize november or december. read more

Do not go here!!! I trusted him to work on my bike. He said the Vance and Hines power duals fit on my 2025 and they don't. I asked him to return them and he was very upset, cursing at me and threatening to kick me out of his property. Yes I had work done some where else and he said he could fix it. Instead of communicating properly he just went very aggressive on me. I had to have my bike towed out and now the pipes he sold me that he won't take back don't fit and I even called Vans and Hines and told him they didn't fit. Avoid it!!! read more

The owner Jason took real good care of my bike went in to get my right side peg and rear brake fixed and they also noticed my throttle and clutch needed tightened got it all done now my bike feels like new lot more responsive and doesn't feel loose on the road amazing job. Terrible experience. 4 months for tires, oil change, and upper gasket. Increased cost from initial estimate, additional work needed due to neglect, bike was extremely dirty upon pick up. Started off okay with a tentative cost/time frame quote on 8/11/20. Their price seemed reasonable, timeframe was great compared to other shops. I scheduled it and brought my bike in 8/18/20 they suggested I also do a Brooks Special, breaks and tires while it was in. Mentioned they'd give me a quote in one day. No quote. They didn't answer any call. Finally got a call through Wed Sept 2. They said they didn't have my bike, got them to double check and they said they must have overlooked it. They promised to get me an estimate and it would be worked on by the day after (Sept 3rd). End of the day after - nothing. After multiple calls and emailing, Sept 5th I got an estimate.They forgot brakes on the quote, but the price was good so I went for it. Big mistake. They said they had the tires but did not and ouodbneedbto order. They were unable to order anything and eventually suggested a pair of D404. This tire explicitly states not to put on a Harley. Eventually I provided my own rear tire since they were incapable or incompetent of buying it themselves. Bought/shipped it to them 10/27/20, it got there 10/30/20. They called me and informed me they got the bike on the lift 11/3/20. Said it would be ready 11/5/20 Inquired about free winter delivery since it is advertised all over their website. They stated it is only for new projects and they don't do this for bikes currently in the shop. Mentioned I dropped it off way before winter, if they did everything in the timeline they suggested it would have been picked up by winter, but now it is cold. Tom stated that they would, but Brooks had an injury and he is concerned about the owners ability to "handle getting a motorcycle unloaded with any degree of confidence in not having something bad happen". I mentioned I would rather just pick up. THEN it gets worst. They had let the battery die and they state they have not had it running since drop off. They then change their story and say that the battery wasn't dead, but it was bad/rusted sparkplug and they would need to charge me for the battery tender and new plugs. They casually mention that they know it wasn't the battery because they had to turn it on/off each day to bring it in/out of the shop over the past 4 months. At that point I just wanted my bike back so I drove down and picked it up 11/6/20... Was given the key and told it was out front ready to go - it wasn't. Had to go back in cause the bike was surrounded by other bikes. It was also covered in debris, had some small scratches, looks like they didn't clean oil off after doing some work, and weirdest of all was when I brought it in it had the stock plugs for the spot where a passenger seat and passenger pegs could go. Just black plugs with the HD Logo, nothing special. Not sure why but they decided to remove those as well... Honestly the communication was so terrible and the bike was so dirty I dropped the cash on bringing it to an HD shop for a check up. Not entirely sure what work they performed. They did swap out tires, and they fixed the rocker leak, they definitely had the rocker taken apart since they left oil all over the bike from it and there were a lot of dirty hand prints on it so they did something.. Stay away for insurance claims. They didn't report all the damage to insurance right away, so I waited longer because it seemed like there was always something else wrong. At one point they told me it would take a bit of time for the parts to come in since they were apparently out of stock everywhere. I found the parts available online from a couple different sources. I decided to wait and support local because maybe they were just busy. Ended up getting my bike back dirtier than before. Do they leave these bikes outside 24/7? read more

Went to look at a Harley they had for sale but no one was willing to answer questions I had. They said I had to come back later.

In June 2022, I brought my Yamaha vstar 650 to Brooks to have the carburetor rebuilt and calibrated. It took me nearly 4 weeks to get my bike back, and when I drove it home, it still ran poorly. I called Brooks back to ask why, and the owner made up a whole bunch of excuses, telling me he could fix that for more money. I paid a lot in the first place, and what I found out is that the mechanic did not do anything that was on the invoice. He merely sprayed some carb cleaner in the top and called it a day. No parts had been replaced, because when I took it to another mechanic, the fuel wells at the bottom of the carburetor were full of particles, and the air/fuel mixture was way off. So, the second mechanic fixed everything perfectly for a fraction of what Brooks charged me, and it only took the second shop two days to give me my bike back. Brooks is one of those typical fraud repair shops that pretends to do the work, overcharges, then tells you that you need to do more work to get the bike running right. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and contacted Brooks, but the owner just lied and said he was going to sue me if I published bad reviews of his shop. read more

Called in for a simple fork seal replacement, was told it would be a day job and parts are in stock. Waited for the entire day wondering around Chantilly just to find after calling multiple times that they actually had to order and they were planning on calling when it's done. Fast forward 4 days, job is complete. I asked over the phone if they had time to assist or wouldn't mind helping install my RAM mount as I failed 3 other times (no idea why), they said sure no problem. Come by the next day to retrieve the bike just to find that the "boss" said since a tech had to leave what he was doing to install the mount (1 nut), that it will be a $15 charge... for something I asked for assistance and if they wouldn't mind. $15 for a nut? Ok... Half the time you call, no one will answer. A few others have had the same situation when it comes to timeliness of when the job is said to be complete vs when it is actually complete. They do great work, sure. But not worth the hassle or miscommunication between techs and whomever sets up the appointments as far as parts go. Clearly more focused on the money and not building a relationship with customers. Will not be returning. read more

Purchased my own tires thinking I was game to install them. Change my mind. Jason's shop installed them at a reasonable price on the day they promised. The day before I dropped off the bike I stopped in and asked Jason if they had time to change the front and rear brakes and if they couldn't that was fine I would bring it back another day. Jason's shop did the brakes and the tires at the same time. I did not expect them to do it but they did. Defiantly five stars for service and five stars for price. The price was less than I expected. Recently got an oil change. Could've done it myself but I needed a shop close to home for jobs I can't do. So i paid to get it done with the other stuff I needed done. Well, someone didn't tighten up the Oil drain plug. I slid twice. Once at a traffic light and after I turned trying to get into my apartment complex. Luckily I wasn't on the highway busting balls. Let's just say I won't be going back. I wanted to get new tires but if a simple oil change can't get done, I can't trust them with putting on some tires. I sent emails & pictures to the shop. I was asked to bring it in. Not gonna happen. The other work they did on my bike was outstanding and the price was unbeatable. No issues there. But I'm out $57 for more oil and a drain cap. I'm an Army veteran and don't scare easily, I've been down range twice (Afghanistan & Iraq). Sliding toward a traffic light that is RED is no joke. Sliding toward a sidewalk isn't any picnic either. Where to begin? I brought my 1983 Suzuki GS750T to Jason for a full restoration. Brooks went through the entire bike. From the headlight to the muffler, he replaced it all. Friendly service and very reasonably priced. List of work follows below. What did Brooks repair? Replaced headlight and bucket, installed new old stock (NOS) gas tank, NOS seat, new petcock, NOS side covers, added Dyna coils, a full Vance and Hines exhaust system, new bars, new grips/levers, rear progressive springs/shocks, tachometer, mirrors and replaced a lot of other little parts. He also rebuilt and jetted my carburetors and had the bike running smoothly after it had been sitting for years in storage. The best part? He was able to do everything in a reasonable amount of time (given the parts I needed as well as the labor in addition to the number of other customer bikes that were already there). Most motorcycle shops I ride to in the area (when I am window shopping) can't believe how well my bike runs and looks. I owe this solely to Jason. I would not hesitate to spend the same amount of money with him again. He is the only shop I recommend to my friends. He is the only shop I have ever been to where I haven't wondered if the needed repairs were questionable. I know bikes pretty well and was listening to him talk to another customer and explain what was wrong with their bike and it was refreshing. Most shops simply grunt out what the bike needs and give you an estimate. The next thing I plan to have him install are new progressive springs and seals on my vintage ride. He really knows 70's, 80's and 90's bikes (as well as newer models judging by the customer bikes I saw at the shop). The shop is clean and has a lounge area for customers. And there is a huge wall of Bikemaster parts you can buy off the shelf. read more

Really, really wanted to like this place. Veterans, like us. Motorcycle riders, like us. Right down the road from us. But I've tried twice, 7-8 months apart, to see if they want to work on our bikes and both times I've been told yes on the phone and to send an email to request the work. Then I've waited 2-3 weeks for an email reply telling me they can get to it in a week or two. Which I say is fine because we've been in no rush, just let me know what works for them and I can bring the bikes in. Not gonna pressure someone when the work I need done isn't a rush job. But both times it's turned in to absolutely nothing. I don't mind if someone doesn't want to work on our bikes, just be straight forward and say it to me. Don't drag me along for weeks telling me to email to set up an appointment and then not respond to my emails trying to set one up. read more

I had my bike towed to Brooks Cycles in Chantilly around early October after I heard a very loud ticking noise upon startup. I was told the bike would be diagnosed and I would be notified as to what work would need to be done to it. On Thursday, October 15th I got a call saying that the bike had spun a connecting rod bearing and that it would need to be replaced. I authorized Jason Brooks, the owner of Brooks Cycles, to work on the bike. Jason gave me an estimate of about $1400 taking into account both parts and labor. He said the bike would be done in about two weeks. I went to pick up the motorcycle on October 30th, 2015. Jason gave me a 10% discount on the work. I was supposed to go to work right after so I got on the bike and rode away. I got on to Route 66 and not 3 minutes after merging I hear the same noise the bike was making before it spun the rod bearing. I rode it back to Brooks extremely cautiously, so as not to get stranded- doing 40 miles an hour on Route 66. At this point I was also too late to make it in to work that day. After about a month had passed I get a call saying that the bike had spun a rod bearing once again. This was because the original crankshaft was out of spec after the first incident. Jason said that he would cover the cost of a used crankshaft because he didn't catch the fault the first time around. He found me a used crankshaft that was within spec and ordered it. This process took about another month (it is now about early December). I was told over the phone that the bike would be done and ready to pick up early January. Once January had rolled around I called multiple times, only to get told it would be ready by the end of the week every time I got in contact. I emailed on January 20th asking if the bike would be ready to get picked up. I get an email back the same day saying that the motorcycle engine had thrown a rod and was damaged beyond repair. Jason states that they noticed other "discrepancies" in the motor when they were taking it apart. The email says that I will get a replacement engine with SIMILAR OR LESSER mileage since the engine failure happened under their roof. I sent some motor options after about a week just to get the search started. I was told by Jason that all three of the options that I sent were damaged. I called multiple times and asked for updates on the bike but I was not really getting anywhere. It was always "oh we're still looking". Right around early March, Jason said that he'd found a motor that he would order for me. I went into the shop late February to get an update on the build. Jason said the he'd ordered a motor and that the build would be done late March, early April at the latest. I asked for a written statement. It says that the build will be ready to get picked up on April 5th. On March 20th I sent an email asking for an update and how many miles the replacement motor would have, but got no response. April 5th rolls around and still no bike. I called multiple times every day from April 13th through April 15th. On the 15th I was told that I would get a call back on Monday the 18th with an update. I did not. I called on April 19th and was told by Jason that he might have gotten scammed on the motor. He says that he will get back to the drawing board and will call me on Saturday, April 23rd. I had to call in multiple times to get an answer as to what exactly was going on with the build. Early May I call in and Jason tells me that he might have gotten scammed on the second motor as well. I totally believe you Jason. I had gotten to the point where I was ready to give up. I told Jason that he would have to buy the bike from me. He said "No, I don't HAVE to do that. The ethical thing to do would be to give you back the bike and refund you the ~$1400 for the original bill.". I was furious. This guy has the nerve to talk to me about ethics when it's been 8 months since the bike first entered the shop and I've gotten NOWHERE. He says to give him another week and he will get me another motor. I was speechless. But I had no choice. I waited. Waited some more. FINALLY, after another dozen calls I get a call on the 27th of March that the bike is done. I drove down there same day. When I get there, Jason tells me the motor that he swapped in has 15,000 miles. That's 2,000 more than what my original motor had. At this point I was just ready to get the bike out of this hell-hole of a shop. While I'm gearing up to leave Jason comes up to me, looks me in the eye and offers me a free oil change after the first 1000 miles as the replacement motor will require it. What a fucking deal. Not surprisingly, the replacement motor requires a valve adjustment and the injectors are gummed up. Probably because it sat in a warehouse for a long time. I will never recommend this place. Not if you paid me to do it. read more

First time rider, bought a bike online and immediately took it to Brooks for a once over since they had so many stars. Nice place, nice people, but screwed over hard. How? Well 2 weeks after this OVER CHARGE FOR NOTHING, my bike brakes down in Andrews AFB. I was told by Brooks I needed new tires and other items that had NOTHING to do with why the bike broke down. Willpower by Andrews saved me and did the unheard of, he took the bike apart and SHOWED me that the brake fluid had NOT been changed (as I was told) and it was almost black and very dangerous, the clutch cable was damaged which was NOT mentioned! The most honest mechanic I've ever met. I bought my first bike a few days ago and it had a clip to hold the choke half way out. This is a $1000 bike, instead of saying he needs to rebuild the carb like another shop had told me to he just adjusted something near the choke for free and told me not to spend money on the bike, ride it as a starter and budget for another bike. 10/10 would recommend just cause of honesty and friendliness. read more

Absolute quality work. I dropped my motorcycle off after it was improperly stored for a couple of years. I suspected that the carbs needed cleaning. Jason was able to do a carb rebuild and now the bike runs fantastic. I also had my chain cleaned from all the rust beginning to form and re-lubed. This was my starter bike from way back and it runs like new. I also appreciate that there wasn't an attempt on upselling me on additional services. Jason is a scam/con artist. This happened a few years back. I was a new rider, with a new bike. I Took my bike here because it had a tick. Found out the head gasket was broken and needed a new one. 5 weeks later (already a long time) it was "fixed." 10 mins down the road on my way home the engine started acting up, lost power and eventually cut off and when I tried to start it back up a horribly loud scratching/ banging sound happened. I called Jason and he said he would make a home visit since I was only 15 mins away. He never showed up. Call the next day, said he forgot, his bad. He would come today on his way home. He never showed up. The bike wouldn't start so there was no way to get it back to him except tow it and he said he wouldn't cover a tow. I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he said he was busy but would come on the weekend to look at it. This happened for 2 weeks!!! Lies. Every day he would make an excuse first saying he would come and then the next day his wife was sick, or some other BS. I finally got fed up with him and towed it to him. He told me he wouldn't fix it unless I paid him another $$ crazy amount of money. Why should I pay for your mistake??? I took it to another shop down the road. When they took apart the motor he found out that Jason installed pieces backwards, didn't torque bolts to spec, left pieces out of the engine. He said it looked like a 5 year old put it back together. Because of his work that messed up pieces and the fact that Jason couldn't recognize what was really wrong with the bike it was cheaper to buy another engine and do a swap. I sent the report to Jason and he acted like he didn't know who I was or that he did anything wrong. I filed a case with my credit card company to not pay for his services. This man is NOT honest and has no respect for people. He took advantage of a new rider and did nothing to fix the situation. If you want to get lied to and have someone not willing to fix their mistakes feel free to bring your bike here. I will continue to warn people of this shady business. read more

The bike is a 2002 Harley Davidson Road King CVO screaming eagle. The bike has 3900 miles on it and had been sitting in the garage under a cover with fuel treatment for approximately two years.I took it to Jason Brooks for a tank flush, Oil change, battery, and two new whitewall tires. I was told that this type of service would take approximately a week. In no hurry I obliged and paid for my parts upfront. A week and a half later I had heard nothing from Brooks so I called and was told that the tires were not in. I extended them some grace at this time and they advised the tires would be in within the next day or two. It's also important that I clarify that I gave them flexibility on the type of tires that I purchased in case there were stocking issues. Brooks suggested the tires that I purchased. The following week I had received no phone call so I called and was told that the bike was not complete. At this point I started having my regrets of taking the bike there. I stopped by the location to see a huge volume of bikes out front and my bike was among them. When I entered Brooks I was met by a gentleman who was kind. He explained that my bike was not complete. I was then introduced to Mr. Brooks himself who explained that my bike should be done as it was on the top of a work list. He then proceeded to be unprofessional with the gentleman to whom I had first spoken. At this point I was very concerned that I had left my investment here but I extended more grace, and I was told that the bike would be done "in a few days". Having still not heard anything from Brooks, I returned to the establishment a few days later. The same kind Gentlemen greeted me when I arrived. Mr. Brooks saw me and began to advise that the side of my primary should be taken off because the starter was messed up. At this point I was very concerned that I was being taken for a ride. I spoke to a friend from Harley Davidson who explained that the bike has a 103 stroker kit installed with 13 to 1 compression and that there's nothing wrong with the starter. He advised I should've taken it to Harley to begin with but agreed to stop by and show me that there is nothing wrong with my starter. I stopped by with my friend who demonstrated to me that the starter was fine by getting the bike started as it sat in front of Mr. Brooks shop. When the bike fired up in front of his shop he stormed out of the bay and began to become belligerent with my friend as well as me in front of my son. I advised Jason soon after that I would be picking the bike up that day. Jason requested I give him another couple days which I could not do because I needed to get the bike to someone that I could trust would take the job seriously and not me for a ride. Mr. Brooks then attempted to sabotage my picking the bike up that day by telling me some parts were locked in his mechanics drawer which turned out also to be false. I took the bike to a Harley dealership, Which I should've done to begin with, where I was advised that there was nothing wrong with the starter but the fuel pump was corroded from sitting in ethanol for two years, And needed to be replaced. The dealership fixed the problem quickly. As for Brooks, two tires, A tube (don't ask), an oil change, battery, and the repair of an O ring in the fuel line (which you have to go around the corroded fuel pump!!! to get to) cost me $1059.45. When I went to Harley, I was out of there for substantially less and thats with a full bike detail and plenty of communication along the way. I was taken for a very expensive ride, and hope that this review will save others some money. I'm sure Mr. Brooks is a great guy and the gentleman working there was kind however business is business and they will get no more of mine. read more

I took my wheel to Brooks Cycles, and without any hesitation, they took it in literally last minute before closing time. I first went to brooks cycles a little over a month ago to purchase a bike from them. I bought a used ninja 650 as my first bike. Jason was amazing and very professional. He had us coming in smiling and leaving the same way. A few weeks later, a buddy of mine messed with my clutch and caused an issue. I limped the bike to Jason's shop without an appointment. He came out and was happy to help. You can't go wrong with brooks cycles, seem to be one of the only shops around here that actually cares for the satisfaction of their customers. I went to Brooks for the first time last week for a bunch of stuff I've been putting off. I needed a new front tire, new front brake pads, someone to look at my steering head bearings and the regular maintenance needed at 22,500 on my '09 ZX-14. The owner, Jason, was friendly and *very* knowledgeable. I met him last week so he could go over my bike and give me an estimate. We got to talking about revalving the front forks with some higher end parts. It sounded interesting and he gave me an estimate for that as well. I relaxed in their waiting room (which is actually my dream man-cave) watching Family Guy on Netflix and reading motorcycle magazines while he went over my bike and wrote up the estimate. I agreed to the work (including the front fork valves) and set up a time to drop off the bike after Thanksgiving weekend. I dropped it off on Dec 1st and got it back Dec 3rd. The work these guys do is top notch, zero complaints. The front forks are amazing! So happy they did the extra work. I'm definitely going to be using Brooks Cycle for all my bike needs from now on! read more

Do not recommend coming here at all . Took my r6 from Coleman's powersports that had told me that I needed a engine due to the engine knocking. When I took it to brooks Jason got it looked at after a week of being there and told me that the servo motor was not working and that they would delete it because my bike would start hesitating after 8k rpm. Jason also told me my exhaust timing was off but after I got those repairs bike would be good. He told me it would be $428 out the door. Then I asked if this doesn't resolve my issue and it's a engine then what Jason said to me "man were not like Coleman we won't charge you at all if it doesn't fix your bike."so I got it fixed.Called me and told me bike was good to go. Not the case after a few days of riding I had to take bike back because of the same noise. Which Jasón then told me was a knocking engine. Replaced the engine with him that he ordered for me. Jason told me which my receipt also says that it was a 2015 Yamaha r6 engine with 6k on it. Well Jasón lied to me because I called Yamaha support and gave them engine number and it came back as a 2009 Yamaha r6 engine. Jasón is a crook and a liar. Never going back to that shop again I'd rather pay double the price at Coleman's then do any work with you. read more

This has to be the worst place to ever take your motorcycle. I went there to have my stereo fixed on my fairing. They not only didn't fix the stereo but they put two huge scratches on my custom painted fairing. They said they would pay for the paint repair but never did so. Promises, Promises... Customers beware don't believe a word Jason Brooks has to say!!!! I had to have my credit card company fight the repair charges and ended up getting my money back. Here are some of the facts of my last 2 encounters with Brooks Cycles.... *Disclaimer - I purchased parts online to replace the front and rear wheels of my 2007 H-D Street Glide, to include matching rotors and rear pulley. So once I received all the parts, I took them up to Brooks Cycles to have them to install everything for me. The good is that the front wheel rides and looks great on the bike!!! But my overall experience with them does not allow me to rate them any better. When they were working on the bike, they notified me that the stock bolts on the rear pulley would not work with the aftermarket pulley, and that they needed to use a shorter bolt of 1.5". So I said thank you for noticing that, and to go ahead and put the proper length bolts on to assure everything works properly. A day or 2 later, I received a call that my bike was done so I went to pick it up. He said I shouldn't travel very far until I replace them with the proper length as they installed 1.25" bolts, as that's what they had in the shop, but I should be okay as long as I don't do any hole shots or burnouts. (my mistake for taking the bike to begin with, but why would they release it knowing the wrong parts were on the bike??) I was able to make it about 25 miles before I started hearing a weird noise coming from the backend of the bike. So I pulled over to find that the pulley bolts were backing out of the wheel, and one of them was actually starting to reach my swing-arm, which was the noise I heard when coming to a stop. So I had to trailer the bike home. The next day, I went to the store to purchase the PROPER length bolts (1.5" based on what they told me), and proceeded to change them out myself, without removing the wheel from the bike to assure the alignment wasn't tampered with, only to find that lock-tight was not used by the mechanic when the bolts were put in, which is a manufacturer spec on these bolts. I proceeded to ride the bike for a couple more days without any known issues, but as I was pulling off the highway coming home from work, I hear a weird noise coming from the bike again. So I pulled over to find my belt COMPLETELY destroyed. So I once again had to trailer my bike home. This is now the 2nd time I have had to tow my bike in less than 1 week after they worked on it!!! So I contacted Brooks Cycles to tell them there is an issue with the install. They had the bike towed to their shop, and told me when they got into it, they would get everything figured out and we could figure out how they can make things right. When the bike was done, they told me that the way to make it right was for them to cover the cost of the tow and labor for the repairs, but I would cover the cost of parts. (belt, inner and outer primary gaskets, and a rear axle that was broke totaling almost $400) I said that was not fair in my mind as none of those things were needed or broke prior to them working on it. The owner then got extremely upset (which he apologized for shortly after) but agreed to let me leave without paying anything. I then proceeded down the road for THREE MILES, only to hear a weird noise coming from my bike again when pulling up to a stop light.... The belt was destroyed AGAIN!!! To close out this LONG review, the mechanic obviously did not test ride the bike, or verify the alignment was correct at all, on either occasion, prior to releasing it. They simply bolted everything together and called it done. So I chose to go to a different mechanic to have them replace the belt again, with a cost of almost $800 in parts and labor due to the error of the Brooks Cycles mechanic. For those interested, the issue was that the pulley needed a 1/2" spacer to pull it away from the rear wheel hub (length of bolt from the beginning of my story ring any bells) for proper alignment, which I would think the mechanic should have noticed. read more

Kudos to your fine, stand-up establishment. Shops like yours don't come often. I have been struggling with mounting 2 tires for my 08 VStrom DL650 all weekend. I recently purchased a No-Mar Classic tire changer so that I can replace tires myself. Well, the front tire mounted fine. But I was struggling whole day on Sunday to mount the rear. For the life of me, cannot mount it. Viewed how to videos and still can't mount it on. Maybe the fact that I"m not 6'2" and do not weight 250 lbs of pure muscle was the reason I failed. Come Monday morning, I took the rear tire and wheel to Brooks Cycle when they opened. They were still pushing the bikes to the outside when I arrived. Jason got to work, very friendly, and answered my questions in general to motorcyles. I asked if I can watch so that I can learn. He said sure, no problem. Took him about 5 minutes to mount. It was technique and some muscle. Jason even gave me some pointers for the next time I mounted tires using my tire changer. When it was time to pay, Jason said, this one on me. I could not believe it! how often do repair shops do this these days? Its been a while since someone provided a service and don't want payment for it. I walked out with my tires, but my conscious got the best of me, so I gave the shop some lunch money. I will definitely be a returning customer. read more

I own a custom chopper and have had previous bad experiences at bike repair shops , but none match the one I encountered recently at Brooks Cycles. Bike needed new seals in the American Suspension inverted phantom front end as well as electrical harness re-wiring. Jason had my bike in his crowded shop for over 6 months before he admitted he had no idea how to dis-assemble and repair the front end...in the meantime, he scratched up the tubes chrome plating, as well as chipped the custom paint job all to hell before I was finally able to rescue my bike and get it moved to another shop...all w/o any repairs actually being made...unless you count the damages done. I have now had to replace at my cost a new AS front end at $2k and will have to deal with the paint job as well...do not take anything more than a golf cart to Brooks Cycles if you value your bike! read more

I finally made it to the new location to get a tire mounted. I love that Brooks will fit in walk in work like a tire mounting. I was in an out in an hour, but I also had the loose wheel and the tire. The shop has some nice bikes for sale inside and a full shop of a wide variety of makes. The lounge area is nice too. Friendly shop staff too. Kevin was super nice and helpful. read more

Having taken my bike for repair to numerous shops in the area, I can confidently say that Jason's shop is by far the most honest, thorough, & attentive motorcycle repair shop in the DMV. I was met with a straight-shooter who explained to me what needed to get done and in a way that saved me a lot of money when compared to the quotes I received from other shops. Integrity goes a long way and Brooks cycle has it in spades. Highly recommend. read more

I've been in a few motorcycle shops in my life ranging from Florida, Hawaii, Maryland, and Virginia, and I can say without a doubt that Brooks Cycles ranks among the best. I cannot point to one specific thing that makes this shop better but here are a few things that I really appreciate: 1: The front entry way is very professional. The bathroom is clean, the cash register area is organized, and there are items for sale on all three interior walls. Items for sale include necessities such as oils and batteries and other goodies such as mirrors and aesthetic accessories. 2: The riders lounge is a low key area to hang out for awhile. There's a tv, Netflix, a gaming console, and coffee. The lounge also offers plenty of motorcycle magazines to paw through. 3: Jason and Nelly (I hope I spelled that right!) are great to talk to! They're human just like you and I so don't be afraid to engage them in conversation. (Rumor has it they may offer some advice for great motorcycle roads heading west.) 4: Winter is slow for any shop and to take advantage of the lull, Brooks Cycles offers free pickup and dropoff! I'm roughly 20 miles south of this shop and Jason had no problem coming out to pick up a Triumph. 5: They will work on anything! I walked in and say a myriad of motorcycles including a moped and a few dirt bikes. Outside were some Harleys, Triumphs, Hondas, and Kawasakis. Good love for all two wheeled machines. 6: They don't perform state inspections. But they are on good terms with the automotive shop on the other side of the building and they can perform motorcycle inspections! This doesn't mean you'll get a discount; it just means there's an option in the immediate vicinity. You're probably heard this before: Good work is not cheap and cheap work is not good. The advertised $90 per hour rate is pretty standard. I can wrench easy things on a motorcycle or car but sometimes I need to call reinforcements. I found Brooks Cycles through a recommendation and will provide the same recommendation for others. I will also be a repeat customer. read more

Worst Experience.. I will never take the bike to them again..Went to them twice and both the visits were worst. visit1. For changing the exhaust initially said 1hour labor and charged me 2 hours ($162). visit2. went to pick the bike after the visit1 issue and found that rear break was not working.... Gosh i checked them before getting out of the shop. The breaks had no issues when i initially dropped the bike. They said it can be fixed as part of their maintenance special.. Charged me $165 and they could not fix the brake issue. All they had to do was (bleeding the brakes) not sure how some one can have a cycles shop and don't know how to fix the brakes.. Had to tow the bike to a different shop and you will not believe the job was done under $50... read more

Have used them twice now...BOTTOM LINE: Great service - Outstanding professionalism - Top shelf technical expertise - Super value!! Will definitely be using them again for most/all my motorcycle needs. read more
