Recently dined for lunch. My husband and I wanted to know what Brooklyn's was about being that we just moved from Brooklyn. When you walk in it literally does look like a backyard. It would not be a chain or large place but usually a owner run place. We have a list of over 60 places we have tried and found all very good We were at Brooklyn,s Backyard on Friday and it was in the top 10 of our lists. We are not from the ocala area so we looked up yelp reviews for suggestions and we saw that this place had 4.5 stars so that's where we went. Thank you so much all of you who gave it good reviews bc this place was soooo good. I had the alfredo and I got it blackened which apparently means that they put cajun seasonings in it. It was probably the best alfredo I've ever had. My boyfriend had the angry orchard burger and a side of the mac and cheese. He thoroughly enjoyed both. His mac and cheese was "some of the best and finest I've ever had" and he's had a lot. The decor was awesome. They deserve the 5 stars and more. read more

We met here for lunch. We're out of towners but it's the half way point between our family. The garlic knots were delicious. Burger was tasty too. The meatloaf was a real let down. Too much Parmesan cheese on it which totally blocked any other flavors. Also, two gravies with one that is heavy cream that took taste away too. Still undecided on whether we will return. read more

One of my absolute favorite local restaurants! The owners, Tim and Janice are great folks that love their restaurant and customers and do a lot for the community. The food is always on point and they constantly have new specials. I love the Rowdy Joe wing sauce (I get some for my fries) and the St. Croix burger is delicious! We went last night for dinner after I read how great the place was, I don't understand I was not impressed and will not be going back, the first too things we ordered they could not serve us because they were out of the ingredients to prepare it, then we had to settle on something else, all were over priced the eggplant rollatine did not have all the ingredients the menu stated it had and was tasteless because of this, the calypso shrimp is $15.00 for seven little shrimp with mac and cheese , it all was very unaventfull , really don't understand all these great reviews, unless there from people that don't get out of town much and don't understand good food, this is ocala and food in this areas is not up to par. read more

I was honestly surprised by this place. I had gone in thinking it was a little hole in the wall with just okay food but I was very surprised. Our waiter (I cannot remember his name) was so helpful with describing what the place has to offer. Sadly when I asked if they had Jameson they didn't but he had an immediate recommendation for something different and was a perfect substitute. I had the crab cake sandwich and it was the best crab cake I've had in years. I will definitely be back to try more on the menu. read more

The pizza is amazing. I love the thin crust and you can taste all the toppings. Only thing I would say is that the dough was slightly undercooked. Otherwise I definitely recommend this place. We took to Yelp to find a good restaurant coming back from a Gator game in Gainesville. Well we hit the jackpot! At first we were taken back by the location(strip mall). So glad we went in! The server was very friendly and offered great recommendations. Service was also very quick. Noticed that there were a lot of 'repeaters' there ( always a good sign) as it seemed everyone was at a "family gathering" by the numerous conversations between guests and employees. The owners were also present and greeted guests as well. THE FOOD: Awesome! The burgers we got were outstanding! So much more than your 'typical burger' - The appetizers were more like a small meal! I've been to this eatery several times in the past. Always enjoyed it in the early days, but methinks the menu is overextending the kitchen's abilities. Ordered the Gyro salad, supposedly a seasonal special. Lots of greens, warm 4 see-through slices of cucumber. Tomatoes ok, Dry black olives dropped from a can, again no taste Feta occasionally visible, doubt even two tablespoons used Tsatziki dressing tasteless Pita triangles seemed retreads, barely chewable. Chicken breast had no flavor, and was so dry it flaked when trying to cut it. Overall, a terrible, overpriced "dining" experience. Won't return anytime soon read more

I would give this place a five star rating but i gotta say this time i'm disappointed. What it used to be a good deal now it's more like their a way to dispose of the food that's going bad as i got in my burger a lettuce with a black spot and my wife had the terrible taste of what look like a rotten onion all over her mediterranean chicken. They are amazing. My kid is SO picky when it comes to burgers. Drowns them in ketchup. Not a Brooklyn's burger. You don't need a single condiment and it is absolutely delicious! They make their rolls there, handcut boardwalk-style fries, craft beers, creative dishes. They even do a S'Mores dessert that you can toast at your table. I've been there for dine-in with a large group. Service and food were excellent. Tim came and sat at our table for a bit. The atmosphere is very unique. Comfortable. I've also had take-out twice. The young man who answered the phone was very courteous. The food was ready, hot and fresh, within 20 minutes . The young man who answered the phone was even more charming in person. I ordered a calzone with spinach and tomato. It was one of the best I've had! Lots of flavor and the dough was perfect. It is a rather small restaurant. We had a group of 11 and it was packed in a Saturday afternoon. The owner was very courteous told us he would do his best to get us a table in 20 minutes. We only had to wait about 10.
