My "regular" locksmith tried and failed to fabricate a spring and said only other thing to do was replace lock (modify door) with a modern (expensive) lock. Al Rovins repaired the old lock same day for a very nominal, reasonable price and took great pride in showing me the clever "workaround" for fabricating the new spring. My neighbor was able to pick up the key within a few minutes, and Amazon didn't even ask me to pay until I was back in town the next week and could stop by. We used them again when our door lock got messed up, and it seemed like a really challenging job, but they handled it professionally, explained the issue, and the price was totally fair. The locksmith even spent some time vacuuming my hallway and the hallway outside my apartment, which I really appreciated. We will definitely use Amazon again!

It was my first time using a locksmith service and I have to say the whole process was fast. I have…read moredecided to give this company a try because it looked like it was local and had decent reviews. When I call they told me that they would't be able to give me a price and that the technician was going to that when he arrived. Once the Tech arrived he saw my lock and told me that the only way to open the door was to drill it so, I said okay, then I asked how much? He said $250 for drilling. Then I asked, how much for a new lock ? He said $280 + service fee + tax - overall the whole experience cost me $713 dollars for a new lock and the lock out service. The next day I called to verify the prices and I was told those were the prices and that it varies by Techs. I told them that I felt the prices too much and that it didn't seem fair. I got a call from them later saying that they'll refund me $100 dollars to make me happy. The total price was $613 dollars - I think it was still a bit much - I think the price should have been more around $300 to $400 but, maybe it's my unpopular opinion. Also, note that I did call them around 7:40 pm and I got the service around 8:00 pm. I'll say that before you use them make sure you get the prices before hand. If I knew it was going to cost me that much I would of shop around. I give them 3 stars because they were not upfront with the prices and they only tell you once the tech gets to your house. Service was great tho. Update: I was contacted by Lior (the manger) and he apologize for the situation I described above - he acknowledged that the price was too high and that the tech should have been upfront with me. He mentioned that his guys were busy due to the Jewish Holiday so the job was done by a freelancer - the reason why I was overcharged. He mentioned they don't do business this way and that he wanted to correct this / make things right. I sent him a picture of my lock and told him the services I got - he said that for the service I got the total should have been $239.53 and he refunded me $373.47 + $100 I got refunded earlier. I really appreciate Lior reaching out and making things right for me. I'm updating my rating to 5 stars because of what he did and I will be considering this company in the future / recommending them. I really hope my experience and transparency helps others in the case this happens to you.
