I sent an inquiry on yelp about getting a key duplicated, because there seems to be only select locksmiths who can duplicate this particular type of key I had. Arthur responded very quickly to my inquiry and requested pictures of the key to confirm whether the store can complete the service. I eventually took the key in and it was done within a few minutes. The store itself is by Washington Square park so it's super convenient to get to. Hands down the fastest and best key maker I've ever been to! Made a new set of keys for my apartment in about a minute and they all work perfectly. The key maker also noticed that one of my existing keys was a cheap, brittle aluminium copy. He advised me not to use it (in case it breaks off in my lock) and made me a sturdier one free of charge. I've had keys copied in the shop through the years and recently had some cylinders replaced in a new apartment. Arthur is absolutely professional and really seems to take pride in his work. When I explained what I needed over the phone, he asked me to text pictures of my lock and responded right away with an estimate and his availability. He showed up the next day on time, had all the tools he needed to work with my decrepit front door, and was able to address extra things I hadn't even mentioned on the phone - my door was slightly askew and I needed a new mailbox key. The Professor LOVES great service at reasonable prices, so when he needed a locksmith, he fired up his trusty Frinkomatic 9000 and logged into yelp. Sullivan Locksmith's reviews looked like the kind of service the Professor aches for in the Naked City, so he was not disappointed when Arthur answered on the first ring. After the issue was explained, Arthur asked for a photo of the offending mechanism, but alas, the Professor was holed away in his laboratory and could not easily transport (the re-combobulator was in the shop) to his lair. Arthur was kind enough to say that he would swing by in a few hours THAT SAME DAY to take a look-see. The Professor made some arrangements and high-tailed it over to meet Arthur, who was PUNCTUAL (listen up, service providers: Punctuality. Is. Very. Important.) Arthur took a look at the brokenness that was the front door assembly and like a tomcat playing with a mouse, he tore that thing apart in about 17 picoseconds. Parts freakin' everywhere. Reminded the Professor of his early days with the Frinkomatic 8000. But unlike the F'matic 8000, Arthur had reassembled the parts in no time, unholstered his trusty DeWalt, and re-installed that once-broken mess faster than you can say, "How do ya do, guv'nor" in your best British accent. During the blur of parts and power tools, Arthur was friendly, professional, and emblematic of an honest, hard-working gentleman who knows how to get from Point A to Point B in the most efficient way possible. Although there was little to clean up, I suspect that if there were, he would have left the place spotless. Oh, and the price was way more than reasonable, another thing that brings a smile to the Professor's pasty face. He's a true marksman with his craft and I cannot recommend him and his service highly enough. After the Frinkuplicator 4000 is complete, he will be my first human subject, so that I can spawn a brigade, nay, an army of ultra-capable service providers to eradicate the mediocre-at-best rabble we currently have to suffer with on a regular basis. Threw in free key rings, and stamped an old key of his so he would be able to differentiate them.
