Very happy to do business with these people. Easy to schedule and got the job done. I wanted to upgrade the mortise lock on my door to a digital door lock the The door of my apartment is very old, so it required some retrofitting. Amazing service very fast and very cheap rate was also the customer service is very good

Went to get a mail key and a few other keys copied. Easy, fast, cheap, professional, courteous. This shop is great! Probably best to bring cash; there is a $15 minimum for the credit card. read more

I went to three places to have a mailbox key copied before Access Locksmith. The first place told me they could make the copy, however the key did not work. The next place told me they weren't sure, but would refund me if it didn't work. They had to refund me. Finally, Home Depot told me they definitely couldn't make the key, but Access Locksmith could. I promised Access Locksmith that if they could make the copy, I would write a good review. Here it is. The key not only worked as promised, but it was quick and affordable! Thank you! read more

I had an antique case with an old lock and no key. Access Locksmith was incredibly helpful and friendly, trying multiple approaches to solve my problem -- and not stopping until it was a success! Only charged me a small fee for the trouble. Super nice and welcoming, great to have in the neighborhood. Would recommend! read more

I called Access after seeing all the good reviews on yelp. I wanted to have a high security deadbolt installed on my door, the apartment I moved into didn't have one. When I called to schedule the appointment, I asked how much it would cost and they me it would be $258.50 for the lock to be installed on a metal door. I asked if they took credit cards and he said yes, so I scheduled and appointment for 10am on Saturday morning. At 10:20 no one had come yet, so I called them. The guy called me at 10:45 and said that he got hung up and was going to come to me next, in about 30 min. I had another appointment so I told him we had to reschedule. He agreed to come the following Saturday at 10. Saturday comes and they guy is late again. He shows up just before 11 after calling me 3 times because he couldn't remember the address. It was disrespectful of my time and totally unprofessional. When he finally arrives and installs the lock he tells me it's going to be $295.00 plus a fee for the visit and he wanted to charge me 3% additional because he didn't have a way to take a credit card. Really??? I asked them if he took credit cards when I made the appointment and they said yes. Summary: unorganized, unprofessional, and hidden fees If you don't want the runaround, pass on these guys. It seems they are only able to handle copying keys. read more

Here's a response that should be easy to memorize - "I'm sorry, I don't have a blank that matches your key. I can't help you." Instead, he cut a key then charged me for it and when I looked at it, it was obviously not the same as my original. And of course it doesn't work. That is not smart business. read more

100% PERFECT. Super friendly, fairly priced, and has rare keys. I've been searching for someone who could copy my building key for AGES- Access has saved me a world of trouble. I could go on and on for ages on how friendly he was!! Just fabulous!!! read more

Great and Quick ,friendly customer service. They were actually recommended to me by the Honda Auto Dealership. I only had one key to my Van so I needed another. The dealer could not fulfill, so I went there. YEY! They quickly made me 2 more keys . They've oviously been in business for a good long while. They have thousands of keys on their walls, and even offer Security devices and can probably just about make or do anything. I definitely trust their professional service ,and will gladly use them from now on. I highly recommend them. read more

Awesome service, definitely cheaper than the home depot down the street. No lie, these guys had every lock available. Have I gone back? Yes! Will I go back again? Without a doubt! These guys were fast and helpful and made sure I had the necessary keys that I needed prior to leaving. They even made sure to explain how multi-lock works and how you'll need a specific card to duplicate. In fact, they informed me that if you lose your key, you can just bring the multi-lock card and have them make another copy for you based on the card. Great service for a great price. These guys are the people to go to when you need anything locksmith related! read more

I have had many issues with locksmiths in the past. Sometimes a key is cut that doesn't match what I want, sometimes what looks like the right key is not a good match... this is none of those. Every single time I have gone to Access Locksmith, my keys are done expertly and perfectly. I no longer even have to bring my original as a backup when testing the copy for the first time, because they are that good! Work is done quickly, always a match for the keys, tons of options for decorative keys, chains, etc. When they relocated to 6th ave from around the corner on 23rd street, I almost cried because I thought they had closed. If you need keys cut, this is your one and only stop. read more

Brought in a small obscure key that I needed multiple copies of. They didn't have something to work from (no blank key was that small) but they were willing and successful in making not one but 4 copies of the key from scratch! Highly recommend. read more

Very quick to respond. Eddie was great. Made sure everything was done to my satisfaction. Highly recommend this locksmith to everyone.

I went to 3 hardware stores trying to get a house key made and none of them had the blank for it. I went here and the key was done in less than 5 minutes, didn't cost much, and worked on the first try. read more

Great locksmith - needed a deadbolt installed in my apt, they gave me a range of locks based on price and came to install the next day. Arrived on time and was friendly and knowledgeable and finished early. Great experience overall read more

I was in a pinch. Lock busted in the morning and couldn't lock my door. Called this place and a few others for a quote. Judged them all buy response time, price and professional attitude. Rene and Rich were the best in all categories. I did pick a very expensive solution from Multilock so it was costly, but knowing from research, the price was reasonable and the service was great. read more

I just happened upon this spot and with perfect timing because it just so happened I needed a couple of keys cut. It is a little hole in the wall but they cut my keys and made 3 copies of each in under a minute. I seriously received my keys in under 2 minutes on a key ring and he even color coded each set for me. Great little spot and great customer service. read more

Called last minute on a Sunday afternoon after I locked myself out of my bedroom on accident. Took a little while to get there (due to traffic?) but he still came through late Sunday afternoon and was very fast and efficient. Cost $125 to get me in which was a little cheaper than others in the area I had spoken to but still didn't seem like they were going to scam me so I ran with it and he got me back in pretty quick once he arrived. read more

They're crooks. Recently I was robbed at work. My handbag with everything in it, including my cellphone, address book, keys and wallet was stolen. By the time the police finished the report it was late. Before leaving work I searched for local locksmiths. Access Locksmith's site said there was a 10% off discount for first time customers I called for an estimate, described what needed to be done and was told it would cost $315.00. As their locksmith was removing my top lock I asked him to confirm the estimate. Casually he told me it would cost more double what I'd been quoted. He said it would cost $800.00 to remove and replace 2 apartment door locks. No joke. $800.00 was not only ridiculously exorbitant. It was 150% more than double what they told me. He said if I didn't want to pay it he'd stop working and I could pay him $65.00 for the service call + $185.00 for the partial removal of my top lock. I was stunned. I asked about the 10% off discount for 1st time customers. He flatly told me there were no discounts. He charged me $770.00 - to remove and replace 2 locks on my apt. door, (the top lock was a plated Medico lock). 2 locks - $770.00. At that point I had no choice. None of my neighbors were home. Since my cellphone and address book were in my stolen bag, I had no way of contacting anyone, and no money on me. Plus he made it clear he wouldn't leave unless I paid him the money I "already owed" him. His work was o.k. But they are crooks. Overcharging like that was both incredibly predatory and dishonest. If I'd be given an accurate quote I would not have used this company. I was like being robbed twice that night. There are dozens of reputable locksmiths in NYC. Stay away from Access. read more

Tiny tiny little space that can barely fit 2 customers but man does the locksmiths knows what they're doing. On top of that they are always really nice and efficient. Though I think it's slightly pricy but after comparison with other Manhattan locksmiths, it's about the same. read more

These guys are amazing. I snapped my key in half completely on accident and no one in the city was able to help me out. They either didn't have the right keys or didn't have the ability to fix/copy. Rich helped me in a matter of minutes, I tested the keys out and both are even smoother than the original. No waiting, good prices, everything was resolved within moments and they were extremely kind along the way! Nothing but good things to say about these guys :) read more

Second time I got locked out, I gave them a call again. Unfortunately, they asked me for a much higher price this time! The man I spoke with said I would not be able to find a locksmith with a lower price. Funny how life works, because the second place I called immediately after this place unlocked my door, charging me $75. read more

Rene was very friendly over the phone and charged an extremely reasonable price. We originally had a 2 pm appointment but called to let me know he was running 15 minutes behind. Not only did he show up only a few minutes late, he apologized profusely for being late! He was able to get me back into the apartment within minutes, and was extremely friendly during the entire process. Never once did he mention having to drill and replace the lock, like some other locksmiths would suggest to make some extra money. Once back in, he asked for proof of address to ensure that I actually lived there, good added step for additional security. read more

Quick service, no issues at all, easily copied all my keys. Would definitely return

I locked myself out of my apartment last Sunday afternoon and called. I got a callback in seconds. 30 minutes later I was back in my apartment. Fast, dependable, professional, courteous service that is hard to find in Manhattan. Highly recommended and keep there number handy. read more

I called Access to send someone to change the cylinder of a back door lock in our office. They gave me an accurate estimate of what the fee would be and told me they would send someone to do the job the next day. Although they told me he would arrive in the afternoon, I was delighted to find that the person came much earlier (around 11:00 am). His name was Terry and was very polite. I showed him the lock that needed to be fixed and he was done in about 20 minutes. He did a terrific job. He gave me the bill, we paid, and then he was on his merry way. Easy as lemon pie. 5/5 Would call again! read more

My entire experience from calling to inquire which bolt lock I should get and flexibility to schedule an appointment was excellent. Renee was friendly and he was very patient to explain to me locks they have available. During the day of service, he was on time and called when he arrived. When he was finished, he demonstrated how to use my new lock. Fairly priced, friendly, and professional service. Use them! read more
