I purchased a fairly sophisticated alarm system from Mitchell over two years ago. I initially reached out to him because I wanted more than the "2 doors and 1 motion detector" intro package offered by the national chains. Mitchell came to my home and we spent hours designing a system including not only all of the typical stuff such as door and window sensors and motion detectors, but also glass break monitors and water alarms for the laundry room and sump pump areas. Mitchell did not "sell" any of this stuff to me. I asked for it and we designed an excellent system together. The reason that I am writing the review today is because this is the first time that I have spoken to Mitchell in over two years. I received an alert on my control pad that a battery was low and I didn't know which device needed the new battery. I called Mitchell on his cell phone. He picked up on the second ring. I had the battery in a drawer and he identified the device and walked me through the battery change over the phone. This tells you a couple of things: 1. The equipment that Mitchell sold to me over 2 years ago works without issue. I literally have had not spoken to him in over 2 years because I have NEVER had a problem. My big problem today was that I needed a new battery. I'm OK with that. 2. Mitchell answers his phone. He is extremely responsive and knowledgeable. Mitchell is a good guy. He knows what he is doing and he sells good stuff. I recommend him without hesitation. read more

I had a security camera system installed by Michell over 10 years ago and I recently started having issues with the recording and playback. He suggested we troubleshoot over the phone before sending a technician to my house. Since the equipment is old, he had to send a technician after all. While I was waiting for the technician to arrive, I fiddled with the settings and ended up resolving the issue on my own. What really stood out to me was the honesty--both Mitchell and the technician could have easily said I needed new equipment or upgrade or unnecessary work, but instead they were supportive and completely upfront. Very fair, trustworthy, and refreshing to deal with a company that operates with integrity. Highly recommend for your security needs! read more

Fantastic value, attentive and responsive. Thank you Mitchell! Looking forward to continue working with you.

Everything was top-notch as detailed by other reviewers. Mitch is knowledgeable, polite, and easy to work with. I turned to him when my existing alarm company was unable to help me. Mitch had no problem getting my system working again. I would especially recommend him for those with older systems such as I have. read more

Just like the other reviewer's said, This guy is so rude, there is no way I would use him. He is so sarcastic, so rude and nearly yelling at me for a simple question. He claimed he is the owner, well, you should be out of business soon if you speak to your customer that way. Look at the review by Jennifer B. I had similar situation like her. This guy called me many time harassing me after I posted this review. I really doubt all these good reviews are authentic. I got text message from the owner. He found out my business through my phone number and posted fake "bad review" of me and my company without being my client. His ignorant action is server enough to warrant a defamation law suit. I will take legal actions. Th crazy conduct of this business owner speak louder than my review. He is an absolutely low class person. Warning: Stay away from him and his business!!! That is the FAKE review he posted for me. He exactly copied my review. He did it to all the bad reviewers if they have business. What kind of sick man. Mitchell installed a security camera for us in 2014, and was extremely helpful when I called him eight years later for assistance with a password reset. It's rare to find this level of post-sale customer service ... he's clearly playing the long game. We'll continue to trust True Value for our condos security and intercom needs. read more

Hiring this company was one of the best things we have done with regards to our home security. Mitch came to our newly purchased home almost 7 years ago to install 3 cameras and 2 security pads. His professionalism, promptness, patience and thoroughness are beyond compare. Mitch's pride in what he does is clearly evident. The equipment installed has been reliable and efficient in every way imaginable. We are avid travelers and knowing we can look at our home at any time, anywhere gives a peace of mind that is priceless. We have called Mitch a couple of times over the years for minor questions, and his response time and helpfulness cannot be matched. If you are on the fence with this company, I wholeheartedly advise calling Mitch and seeing for yourself what an amazing expert you have for hire! read more

In spring of 2015 True Value installed a security system on our house after a meeting with Mitchell where he explained what would be done and what he would supply and what the charges would be. He was very clear in his explanation. The installation was very professional and clean. Mitchell clearly explained how everything worked. Since the installation we had to call him 2 times in 4 years, once for a dead battery in one of the sensors and another for an explanation to reset a setting in the system. At all times he was very friendly and professional in every way. Would total recommend him to anyone who is looking for a security system on their home. read more

I had to switch security as my business is growing and when my previous security company drop the ball egregiously, I called Mitchell for a consultation and I was amazed by how much more technology his firm had to offer - he was very clean and helped me safely remove all the old equipment - his tech was very polite and professional ! I had trouble with the alarm installed by True Value Security. Particularly with the panic feature. 2 calls later the problem was fixed. One more thing I wanted to mention. When I received the replacement part I texted True Value Central Station. Mitchell returned my text within the minute. This was at midnight. I called spoke to Mitchell. He talked me through and we were able to reprogram and set up the alarm in about 15 minutes. Now my family can sleep knowing we are protected . read more

Words can not express my satisfaction at the job that was completed at my home today by Mitchell. I have met many people in my life and I continue to meet a lot of people in any given day - so I know a genuine honest person when i see one, and MItchell is certainly genuine and honest! I can say that Mitchell really takes pride in his work and in running his business. First off - he picked up his phone when I called, which is not very common nowadays. Second, he had time to talk and discuss different options for my situation. And lastly, he showed up when he said he would show up and completed the job in a professional and COVID safe manner. Mitchell has a lifelong customer in me and I can not wait to refer him to family and friends for all of their home security needs! read more

We just had security cameras installed by True V security and couldn't be happier with the outcome. I spoke with Mitchell over the phone about what I wanted to be done and got a quote for the work immediately. Mitchell explained in detail the system he would recommend for what we needed and took his time answering all my questions. The install was clean and they took the time to ensure that all wiring was hidden under the siding of the house. After the install, they spent time setting up our computers and phones and walked us through the setup and networking issues that may arise in the future from any IP changes and how to correct them. Overall we were very happy with the work and have already recommended him to our neighbor and a family member. read more

I have had True V Security for 5 years now. Mitchell is excellent. He always picks up the phone when I call. There are rarely any problems with the system. And when there is a problem, its resolved very quickly by Mitchell. Thank you for many years of excellent service and excellent equipment. read more

Excellent initial and subsequent maintenance service by Mr Meyer Very reasonably priced Timely and quick security response when needed No reservations! Highly recommended read more

Of all the people I called he was the only one who a) Answered all of my questions b) Picked up the phone on a holiday weekend c) Responds to my calls at 9-11 PM at night if I have a question or problem. I get a lot of simple things wrong, and I am not a fast learner. He is patient and deals with all of my stupid questions. He understands innately how all of this works and has what is in front of me on the screen or in the hardware/glass break detectors/motion sensors memorized so he can walk me through everything. The price was reasonable and I am very happy with the service. read more

I called every alarm system with at least 3.5 starts on YELP seeking a reliable system for an elderly family member. True Value Security Systems was the first to really explain all the options and the values of the different options. The honest evaluation of what the property would be secure with as well as the prompt timing with which the walk-through was able to be scheduled pushed me to go with this service provider. I've been incredibly happy with my choice thus far! The customer service goes beyond just instillation, the company owner has followed up to ensure all questions are answered and everything is to my satisfaction. Although, I hope the alarm doesn't ever go off, I trust fully in the instillation and response team behind this company. 100% worth the 5 star rating they had when I discovered them on here and the 5/5 I am giving them now after hiring them! read more

Highly recommend Mitchell. He is reliable, prompt and conscientious. We've worked with him for about three years.

My wife and I purchased a brand new construction home on Long Island which included a Honeywell home security system already installed. Before reaching out to the company who did the installation, I did some research on security companies and did not find this company at all but I did find True Value Home Security on Yelp. Impressed with all the positive reviews, I called and the owner, Mitchell himself, answered and scheduled an onsite visit with us. During our initial consultation, he explained we already had everything installed and we were pretty much all set. All we really needed was the monitoring service unless we wanted additional alarm contacts on the windows and security cameras which we did. Mitchell was not pushy or "salesly"at all and was able to explain how he differs from all the big box security companies. After our consultation, the initial security company who installed everything before my purchase called me to see if I wanted to set up service. I asked for the pricing for the same items and services we discussed with Mitchell and True Value's pricing was much better. Ultimately we purchased additional contacts for all windows and security cameras. The setup for the alarm portion was flawless, he added delays for the doors and synced everything to the central station and explained how to use the home panel. He also set us up with the "total connect" app which allows us to set the alarm from my mobile phone. The installation for the security cameras was beyond impressive and flawless. Mitchell's associate ran the lines through the outside of the house with Mitchell's instructions and supervision. He did such an amazing job, you cannot even see any of the wiring on the outside of the house. In the room I have designated for the panel, monitor and recording system, he ran the wires beautifully. He even re-stapled the wiring from the cable company who did an extremely terrible job. I must say, Mitchell really went out of his way in everything he did. Throughout the installation, it started to rain, but this did not stop Mitchell with the outside portion of the installation process. He even helped me remove a sticker from a foyer window which was on the 2nd story about 18 feet up with the use of his ladder and did not leave any marks on my walls. Post installation, Mitchell has responded to my emails in a timely manner, sometimes within minutes. He has exceeded all my expectations and we are overall very satisfied. We would recommend True Value to anyone who finds the following important: presentation, quality, price for value, service and availability. read more

I had an alarm system installed by Mitchell and his technician John. They did a great job for a reasonable price and installed a top of the line Honeywell system. I could not be happier. I heard about this company from my neighbor who has used them for over 10 years. I am happy and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a small honest company where the owner gets involved in all phases of the work. read more

Michell is the owner and it shows in the care and attention he shows to your alarm system. He clearly knows what he is doing and was able customize a system for our needs. He even took a call later that evening to make sure we were comfortable with the system and knew how everything worked. Would definitely recommend! read more

So, I finally grew up an brought a house and needed a security system. After doing research online, I went with True Value because they exclusively use the Honeywell Total Connect system which is top of the line. It enables you to to control it from your iPhone! True Value was able to give me an immediate appointment for consultation and a install appointment the same week. An appointment not a window of time. Mitchell did an excellent detailed installation and I couldn't be more pleased. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for high tech security system and reasonable rates. read more

We wanted to switch from Slomin's to some other company for no particular reason other than our Slomin's contract was up. I did not feel any love towards Slomin's. I found TRUE VALUE SECURITY SYSTEMS on Angie's List and we went with Mitchell. Not even sure whether annual contract price/payments are lower than Slomin's or any other company. The catch is in customer service. I have to say that Mitchell (owner) really cares about his customers. I'm not saying he is not here to make money and provides good service because he loves humankind... But, he has proven to us through last 3 years that: 1. He is always available if we text or call him with any question 2. He can come to our house with very short notice 3. He can thrown in some freebies 4. He is patient in cases when he needs to clarify something We recommend TRUE VALUE SECURITY SYSTEMS read more

Purchased the home security monitoring system from Mitchell 6 years ago. The installation was completed and the system was operating within a few days of placing the order. Mitchell did a survey of the house to be sure that every weak access point was fitted with an alarm, including smoke, heat, gas and even a flooding sensor in the basement. Except for having to replace a battery here and there, the system has performed as expected. Thank you Mitchell for giving us peace of mind! read more

Mitchell is a Rock Star. Been with them a few years. Had an issue. After 11pm at night, looks like I set the alarm wrong. I called him & he guide me on how to shut it down. Straight up guy, no nonsense & very professional. Rick read more

Mitchell was great. We have a small office in a sketchy neighborhood and he really hooked us up. We had an interview with ADT and went with Mitchell immediately. The difference in in customer service was night and day. He came in and gave a full evaluation of our office while ADT barely looked around and gave us papers to sign. Go with someone who cares about securing your premises, not someone who's saying anything they can to make a commission. read more

Mitchell installed a security system (outdoor camera, indoor camera and recorder) for me back in 2012. No problem with it until recently when one of the cameras needed to be replaced. He came back to repair it no problem. He's very knowledgable and believes in his work. read more

Mitchell, the owner of True Value, personally came and installed my security system. He was friendly, courteous, and professional. He took the time to explain all the products he offered, however, in no way tried to up-sell me. The system he installed, which is a standard residential system, is easy to use and compact. In my search to find a security alarm service, I also checked out ADT. While ADT's installation fee was a bit cheaper, the actual alarm system installed by True Value was of higher quality (I'm talking about the actual alarm device). In addition, I immediately felt that Mitchell was going to be much more accessible in the long run. Large companies like ADT have large clients and can only service so many of them. In all my interactions with True Value, Mitchell has always answered the phone personally or has gotten back to my emails within the day. I'm confident that I found the right alarm / security company and I would recommend True Value to my friends and family. read more

I've been using Mitch for over 5 years. Very responsive, great personal service. When I had ADT, any issues that needed a service call were big $$$, so I ended up having a half-functioning system. Yesterday, I had a sensor fail - Mitch came this AM and I'm back in business with minimal damage to my wallet. read more

I've had True Value for over 2 years now. Not a complaint on anything. Mitch has been a pleasure to work with and his availability is prompt. I recently had to have him comeback to install new sensors on a new set of Windows, and he was there within 12 of hours of the phone call and had the new sensors installed himself. Even on the initial install he took pride on his work and did a clean and professional job! He has been a pleasure to work with and has way more personal attention than any other major Home Security System. He is also not just doing this for sales like ADT or Slomins, he works independent and loves his job, which gives him a great work ethic. Definitely recommend to use Mitch and True Value over any other choice, you will not regret it at all!! read more

I think I will have my first good night sleep in 55 years!! Mitch is amazing and comforting. He also found I had old alarm equipment that could be used with the new So I saved money too!! Personalized service is rare these days and Mitch doesn't skip a beat.
