Security Camera NY was the first company to contact me on my latest quest (I've been researching for 4 months) for a security camera installation. Grace (who answered the phone) was very knowledgeable about what I wanted and arranged an appointment at my convenience. Avner came to survey the areas I wanted for camera installation. He answered all my questions in a professional and experienced manner. He described what options I had in terms of wiring and recommended the best area(s) to place the security monitor. Avner was also the first person who provided a quick written estimate that included the brand name of the merchandise he was planning to use. Grace called later to inquire if I had any more questions about the installation. The price quoted was affordable and within the range I had been quoted by other companies. Based on the quality of customer service I had received thus far, I hired them to complete the job. Avner and Hugo exceeded my expectations on the day of service. Hugo worked tirelessly all day to install the required wiring and cameras. It was very important to me that the wires would not be all over the place as I had seen on many security cameras' websites. Hugo DID NOT disappoint. He surveyed the areas where the cameras were to be placed, and contemplated the best way to install them with a minimal use of wires and be inconspicuous. Avner connected the monitor to the DVR and explained its use in layman's terms. Hugo was very accommodating and would not leave until we were 100 % satisfied with the installation. Moreover, the cameras that were installed provided a clear crisp picture. I find the Security Camera NY was very efficient and thorough from the initial contact to the completion of the job. A year's warranty on labor and parts, free training and support is included in the price. The installation includes a connection to Internet they may be remotely viewed from any PC and any smartphone. I would strongly recommend you hire them. He came quickly to provide a quote to install camera and intercom, while I change a few things back and forth, he was very patient and adjusted the quote multiple times and provided advice on what is best for our purpose. Avner and his team work quickly and efficiently. However, his communication and scheduling could use some work. As another review also stated, the workers are not the best at cleaning up after themselves. I have installed cameras on my own in the past at a previous home and I am very familiar with the process. I used him because there was an incident very close to home that made me nervous, and I wanted them up asap. I found his prices to be rather high for the amount of time his workers spent, the work that was done, and the quality of the materials used. In retrospect, I probably won't use him again for work. Especially when I learned that he charged me $180.00/ piece for some Chinese cameras I found on the internet or $50.00/ piece. Although I was somewhat pleased with the final result of my camera system, the fact that he marked me up so much is dishonest and frankly greedy. I personally feel that he saw my home, inferred that I had money, and overcharged me accordingly. I still have buyers remorse with this purchase. I still feel that I should have just taken a day from work and done it myself because I feel I was still taken advantage of. This doesn't go without saying, I'm not cheap and I can't stand cheap people, but I am fair and I believe in paying for quality. My advice, borrow a ladder, take a deep breath, go on youtube, and learn to do your cameras yourself. Minimal tools are usually required and you'll save a TON of money. I wanted to wait a few weeks before I wrote this review to make sure I was happy with the system, so far everything has been great. I found Security Camera NY through yelp, and they responded quickly. I was shocked at how quickly they were able to come to do the installation. I spoke with Avner to help design what system would work best for us. He explained everything, was very thorough, and answered all of my questions. We settled on 7 cameras to be placed around my home. Hugo and his team did the installation, and Avner come to set up the NVR and explain everything to me. Hugo and his team were very clean during the installation and did everything possible to keep things neat - much more so than other contractors who have been to my house. They were very patient in helping us figure out where the cameras would be located and pointed, and very creative to keep the wires as inconspicuous as possible. They ran wires all over my house, and did a fantastic job keeping them hidden. They were done by 2:00pm, in the rain. Other companies had said this was going to be at least a 2 day job. So far, the system has been working great. It's nice to be able to use the app to see what's going on at my house. We are very happy with the work Avner, Hugo, and all of the guys did. I have already recommended Security Camera NY to neighbors and family members. I gave their card to neighbors around my house who were impressed with the work they did. We did a large-scale job with SCNY. We hired them to replace building our building's intercom system. We were not happy overall with the level of service. They may be fine for small jobs, as they are a small company but they don't have the wherewithal for a multi-unit installation. -Scheduling could have been much more efficient. Our initial discussions were unclear and led to delayed access to several apartments and wasting residents' time. -The installation was generally sloppy. The new panels were chosen specifically because they were the same size as our old panels. Despite this, many were installed such that large gaps and holes are visible in the walls adjacent the new panels. I realize there are some cases that this is unavoidable but several installations were simply lazy and could have easily been installed cleanly. -Debris and dust was left in almost every apartment. Work areas were not even superficially cleaned after installation. This is simply unacceptable. -New wiring in the basement was left hanging loosely from the ceiling. No attempt was made at bundling the wires to leave them in a neat fashion. read more

Had 5 cameras installed around my house in January and everything works flawlessly. The wires for the camera were nicely tucked together and hidden as well as they could be. Power over ethernet IP cameras are definitely the way to go especially if combined with the ring door bell since they allow fast viewing and can't be jammed by wireless jammers. The motion detection function isn't ready for prime time. read more

I must say I was very impressed with the service & installation process. The job ended being a little more labor than anticipated and the installers were very knowledgeable & friendly. They stayed late to get it done, so they would not have to come back another day. They explained how the unit worked & even came back the Next day switch out one of the cameras because the color of the cover didn't match the others. I have a new restaurant and needed 10 cameras installed. Security Camera NY went above and beyond to get the job done right. When we received a broken monitor from Best Buy, Avner even went and returned it himself and got me a trade discount with the balance given to me with a Best Buy gift card - a welcomed unexpected surprise. I can't imagine any other contractor would ever do this. To top it off, the cameras work well, I paid a good price and no headaches so far. If I can give this company 6 stars I would. Avner and his team were incredible from beginning to end. The surveillance system equipment and his service are second to none. In fact, there was an incident in our community and we granted the NYPD access to our system and they were taken back and extremely impressed with the quality of the video. In our facility we had him install 8 surveillance cameras and 1 high end remote PTZ camera for our Audio/Visual system which we would use for speakers, presentations, and performances. There's no job too big or too small for them. We were so impressed with his work that we had him install a surveillance system to our second facility. We also had him hardwire our routers throughout our site and setup our wifi. We did extensive research in finding a company, including ADT, but we wanted to manage the surveillance ourselves and not pay monthly premiums. The other companies that we looked into which would allow us to manage it ourselves were well overpriced but what was more disappointing was that the equipment wasn't very impressive. Security Camera NY came as a word of mouth referral and we're sure glad that they were. Avner is very knowledgeable, has integrity and is reasonably priced. Outstanding! I just had a major job done with 17 cameras done on a very large property. The installation was flawless. These guys care about esthetics. Anyone can hook a camera, but making very long, exceeding tricky cable runs through a pre-war building is another story. They took extra care to hide cables by using fixtures that were already in place. To me, that's what separates a good company from a great company. They are indeed a great company.
