I think I will have my first good night sleep in 55 years!! Mitch is amazing and comforting. He also found I had old alarm equipment that could be used with the new So I saved money too!! Personalized service is rare these days and Mitch doesn't skip a beat. Once the spotless installation was complete, we had a lesson on how to use the keypad (not sure of the right lingo for it) Mitch is patient and does NOT rush through the instructions nor anything else. Thank you for making me secure and a customer for life. read more

I wouldn't recommend this company at all. I am a firm believer in first impressions and the rep that answered my call was just flat out rude! I called to inquire on pricing to reconfigure an already installed security camera system (previously installed by a private person that has very limited availability) and while asking me very short and dry questions (being rude but I ignored it) about my issue, the rep then responds in a very snarky way with "then why don't you just call the person that installed it before?" I responded telling him that if it were that simple or obvious I wouldn't be reaching out to him. He then says usually those that get private installs aren't going to pay the cost of a security company. Excuse Me?? You just lost business from a prospective client because of your condescending and idiotic assumption. To make an absurd assumption about someone's financial capabilities based off a previous installation is not only rude but very unprofessional. I do not need or want this person around my business at any cost. Good Riddance. In response to his message below: I was never angry and you are a sick liar. You really need help. He keeps altering his response with more lies after I give more reason why this guy is a douchebag. This guy even text me after I wrote my review harassing me saying he will leave me a bad review. I immediately told him to cease contacting me before I report him. People with common sense can see off any negative review he has that he always blames the other person. He never accepts that its his own nasty attitude that's the issue. I really want to shed light on this encounter so that everyone avoids this place. Based on other reviews it's proof he has the same condescending attitude based off idiotic assumptions on what he ASSumes someone can or can not afford. I NEVER said the person did not finish the job, EVER. It's comical and scary how much he's lying. If you took the time to actually listen and want to help you would have heard and understood that. Why on EARTH would a "businessman" respond to a NEW customer asking them "why don't you contact your original installer?" (this was verbatim and no you never said NO THANK YOU, or any of the such. Nowhere in our conversation were you polite or even used any pleasant verbiage) I was so taken aback by his bluntly rude response. You are clearly unprofessional and you lack class. Now that this is public I hope no one ever gives you another dime. You are flat out RUDE. And for your information the previous installer was a family friend who recently had a baby and can not find the time to RE-CONNECT the cameras back to the main system (all I needed as they were disconnected from construction) and since I have a very successful business I was willing to pay WHATEVER it was to get my cameras turned back ON as long as the person was professional and experienced. That person is definitely NOT you. Yes the conversation only lasted 30 seconds because I ended it short. I had no desire to continue speaking with someone such as yourself. You need to learn some business etiquette and find some class (and maybe some professional help). read more

On the recommendation of a good friend and neighbor, we had True V Security Systems replace/update an existing system in our home over a year ago. The installation was professional, clean and timely. Mitchell answered all our questions before the installation guiding us to the most cost effective( money saving) set-up. He was very patient in explaining the operation of the system to me and was very clear about his availability by phone should questions arise. To date, we have had no issues with the system. I highly recommend True V security systems if you want an honest, no nonsense company to deal with. read more

Mitch is very personable. He is straightforward. It is such a pleasure to do business with him. We just purchased a home in Long Island. Most people would come in and sell you everything. Mitch, on the other hand, knew the house had an alarm system previously and tried to see if he could use as much of the old alarm system's stuff so we could save money and not spend unnecessary money. Unfortunately, none of the old stuff worked and we had to start from scratch...Mitch took his time to make sure he did the job right. He constantly asked me for my input on where I wanted the wires to go etc. He's not one of those guy that come in and just try to get things done and get out. Not Mitch! He is very detailed oriented. He thinks things through before making a decision. Mitch's alarm system is really awesome. Last time, my husbanded "Armed Stay" the home. I totally forgot about it and decided to open the window. O boy! I triggered the alarm to go off. Within seconds, we received a phone call to make sure everything is alright. By the way, we did it twice with the same immediate response time, LOL! Mitch is always available. He is very dedicated to his clients 200%. He is definitely one in a million. Don't look anywhere else. He's the guy you want to do business with! We plan to have him come back and put more alarms soon since we are in the process of getting a permit to changed a couple of our windows! read more

I had an issue with my current national alarm provider. I called True Value and spoke to Mitchell. He is the real deal. He spent quite a bit of time explaining some of the nuiances with national companies. He helped me with a technical issue even though I was not a current customer. He expalined to me while he would love my busness, I am probably attached to a contract. He was honest and helpful. He prides himself on customer service and telling people how it is. While I may not be able to be a customer today, I will be a customer one day. read more

After our apartment was burglarized, my wife and I realized we needed a security system. We found True Value on line and have been very pleased with the product and the service. Mitchell, the principal, was very accommodating in scheduling a consultation around our difficult schedules and outlined the various options knowledgeably. The man clearly knows his business. He was able to design the system to our particular needs-the apartment layout and the number of people who require access, for example. We have been living with the system now for a few months and are very satisfied. It is easy to operate (even I can do it) and has functioned without a problem. i have no hesitation in endorsing Mitchell and True Value. read more

We have had True Value for several years with excellent service and no incidents. Then suddenly, we were alerted that an alarm had gone off and we were immediately notified at all the contacts we gave perfectly. However, the cause of the alarm was unknown as there had been no break-in. We called them and scheduled to come over the next day (a Saturday!) and check out the system. They showed up right on time and went at it trying to diagnose the cause. The cause remained elusive, but they hypothesized that it was likely a fault in alignment or relay mechanism. They did absolutely the right thing, exchanged everything out and made some enhancements to various signaling components. By doing this it would either resolve the unknown issue or eliminate the suspected sensor cause. It has been a week and so far so good but True Value promised to monitor our reports carefully and would return immediately if it happened again. What better service can you get than that! Such a difference to have someone watching out for their product than some large faceless corporation who really has very little invested if you stay or not. read more

Had a great experience. Mitch was very informative and provided all information we needed. He's very responsive to our questions and takes the time to help. We had a small glitch which was sorted out very quickly. Thanks! read more

I didn't use True V, but I spoke to the owner, Mitch, about installing security cameras in our school. He said he'd refer me someone else because he no longer provides that service. Mitch was honest and helpful. Seems like a great guy. Thanks, Mitch. read more

After having ADT for 2 years with horrible service, I decided to call True Value Security Systems. After speaking with Mitchell, he was very helpful and explained all the options thoroughly. After thinking it over, I decided to go with them. It was a painless installation, and he explained every detail of the alarm system. I was very happy with his service. I've been using the alarm system since with zero service outages and it works perfectly. I definitely recommend it! read more

We have been with True Value Security systems for 3 years now. Mitchell came personally to our home and installed the large amounts of wireless devices we needed and explained everything thoroughly. He was very courteous and professional. A genuine guy to do business with which is very refreshing! Recently a few of our devices started triggering tamper alarms for no reason. I called Mitchell and he came by to check on the system. He fixed the issue within 2 visits and rewired some ugly wiring we had done ourselves to the front door touch pad. Looks great now! It's been a few weeks and we haven't had a single tamper. Mitchell is a pleasure to work with and a nice guy. If you're looking for an alarm company with great service, very reasonable prices and reliability please call Mitchell, you'll be happy you did. read more

We are desperately looking for a new security system for our building. We called True Value for a quote this morning based on such positive views on yelp. The guy who answered was rude and arrogant. He refused to even quote us a price because we were a board and refused to come out and give us an estimate. They must be making a lot of money if they can just reject a customer based on one question "are you a board?". We are a small 16 unit building needing a full security setup. If you are looking for a condo security system, keep looking elsewhere as True Value don't need your custom! Billy's locksmith in Brooklyn were a million times more friendly, approachable and easy to deal with. read more

I never thought I would ever do a review for an alarm system company but I have to considering how great they were to me and my family. They alarmed our houses which are on a very busy corner of our neighborhood. I was instantly concerned for my Aunt and also my parents how they would take to having a much needed system but Mitch, along with the technicians were awesome and put every member of my family at total ease. They installed and explained everything over and over again to make sure we all knew how the system works and what else it can do. They went way above and beyond on showing us and explaining everything to us. Mitch is great and doesn't hold back anything when explaining how things work and will answer any and every question you may have. It's easy to tell the extreme pleasure he gets from this business and how he and his employees make every customer they deal with very important. Mitch will take phone calls from his customers at all hours if anything should arise. He is great with that and if there is an issue he can't take care of over the phone he will make sure to come over and address the problem or question you may have. He is definitely someone you would want to deal with when getting protection for your home or anywhere else you need. They use Honeywell which is the best system out there. I absolutely would recommend Mitch and all his employees to install it and explain everything. read more

Couldn't be more pleased, Mitch ( the owner) was professional, helpful and very friendly. He told us what we needed and, just as importantly what we didn't need so we didn't have to spend more than needed for the job.Highly recommended read more

Mitchell is amazing! His attitude towards his customers in terms of professionalism is really unparalleled!! I live by myself and I wanted to get a security system which gives me peace of mind when I am not home. I knew some companies from hearsay, but didn't really know what to look for when choosing a company. So I looked on yelp and read up on various companies. Firms like ADT were quickly weeded out and in the end it was clear to me to call True Value Security Systems, as their reviews are above any other competitors. Mitchell, the owner answered the phone himself and he was incredibly easy to talk to. He came by and immediately came up with a good set up fitting my situation. Not pushy or salesy at all he explained me all the costs involved and the work that was needed to get the level of protection I was looking for. So I decided to hire him and I have been nothing but extremely happy!! He always answers the phone or gets back as soon as possible. Incredibly responsive, personable and reliable. I couldn't wish for anything better! I asked for some additional gadgets like temperature control for when I'm traveling, to make sure that I get notified when the heat happens to turn off to protect my home from the damages of frozen pipes. Mitchell had a solution and promised to get it installed in time before my departure. As always he has an answer and a solution. More than 30 years in this business, Mitchell is the man to call! read more

Mitch is a very no nonsense and straight to the point kind of guy which I like. When I told him my new house had an existing alarm system he was understandably concerned and told me that he cannot guarantee he can update it without looking at it first. I made an appt with him and he showed up right on time. He looked at my existing system and said it was in very good shape and gave me a few options, to update the existing system or go with a brand new wireless system. Now most companies will simply try to upsell me on a new wireless system since it was more costly and easier to put in, but Mitch was more concerned with doing what is in my best interest and thereby keeping me as a customer, so he actually suggested keeping and upgrading my old system. He said my system was in very good shape and that in many ways was superior to even a new system and he had a guy who specializes in old systems such as mine. I told him we will go with upgrading my old system and two weeks later he and his tech guy showed up right on time and spent almost a full day very meticulously going through my old system, upgrading and replacing as necessary and when all is said and done, I have a fully functional and highly secure alarm system that is even better than most new system out there today. Mitch not only gave me great advice and went the extra mile to upgrade my system but also saved me over $1000 by leveraging the system that I had. It actually involved more work for him to do it this way but in the end what is important to him is customer satisfaction and to me that is how a successful business is run. I highly recommend Mitch and his company. read more

I am a DIYer but True Value sold me a replacement part even though it was not part if their normal business offerings. It was quicker than ordering online as I was able to procure the part immediately from the owner of the company - he even offered up some free advice. I would recommend based on the professionalism despite my limited interaction. read more

This is my first review on Yelp and I became a member after purchasing the voucher that was offered from True Value Security Systems. Since I contacted Mitchell initially, he was great at responding to emails, texts and phone calls. He patiently explained the whole process of the home security system via phone without pressuring me to purchase his system. He even sent me additional information via email for my review at my leisure. When I agreed to secure my home through True Value Security System, Mitchell came on time and patiently walked my husband and I through using the alarm system, and answered many of our questions as juvenile as they sounded. I contacted Mitchell the day after installation after having a question about the system. He responded immediately and walked me through the process. I feel very secure with True Value Security Systems. read more

Mitchell did all of the security in my husband and my new wine store in Williamsburg, and we're glad. He was very helpful walking us through each step of alarm/multiple cameras. He was prompt and efficient. We've called him a couple times since just to get up to speed on our system, and he's great for that too. read more

We had our security system installed in our new home almost 5 months ago. Of course, we waited until the last minute to find someone. I signed up for Angie's List and contacted the highest rated provider in our area. I was pleasantly surprised that someone actually answered the phone and that someone is the owner. He walked me through everything on the phone and came out last minute to do the install on a Saturday. Mitchell is very personable. We have accidentally set off our alarm a few times and have received the call to make sure we are okay in mere seconds. Also, one of our sensors fell and broke during some construction and again, Mitchell was out at our place 2 hours later (on a Saturday again) happily helping us reinstall a new one. I love the personal service and professionalism. I would highly recommend this company. read more

What an awesome, kind, knowledgeable man! I was so happy with my telephone consultation that I hired Mitchell on the spot. Mitchell really cares about his business and his relationship with clients. He told me, in detail, everything that the system can do, and I appreciate that. True Value is a rare bird in today's business environment. They're hard working, honorable, and competent. I was very impressed from the start the way Mitchell (the owner of the business) handled his business. He earned my trust and was very accommodating to all of my needs. He answered my calls when ever I called him even on the weekends. The installation went very smoothly without a hassle and he provided me with excellent advice on what kind of security system I would need. He even followed up a few weeks after the installation just to make sure everything was working properly and that we weren't having any problems. I recently had a home security system installed in my apartment. I had researched various companies, read reviews and called up a few different companies. I decided to have my system installed by True Value Security Systems (Mitch). When I called to get information about the type of system, price, etc. Mitch answered the phone immediately. He took the time to answer my questions, and was patient (I had lots of questions). He arrived on schedule, he was pleasant and I felt like he was a friend of the family. He did not try to sell me items I did not need. He explained how to use the alarm and many of its features. My system is top of the line and I'm extremely happy. The set up was neat and clean. He provided great customer service, polite, knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. For me it was about the customer service. Most of the alarm systems used are the same by many companies, but after speaking with Mitch I knew I made the right decision. I would highly recommend Mitch to anyone looking for a home security system. read more

Great service, quick installation and follow up! We had an older alarm system (about 10 years) with another service provider and hardly ever had to call them, but when we did, they never responded promptly. It always took days for them to return our calls! Not the case with Mitchell and True Value! He was great from day 1 to installation and thereafter! During our consultation, he explained everything to us (installation, activation, surveillance spots, maintenance, costs, etc.) and even suggested how we could reuse parts from our old system to help save on costs! The installation was easy and seamless. Mitchell was there to ensure everything went smoothly. He was really patient and accommodating when I changed my mind about placement of the camera. No big deal, he took care of it and charged me such a reasonable price. It's been about a month, and we are very happy with our system. Mitchell even called just to check we were happy with everything and had no issues! I don't think you will find this sort of personal attention or customer service from the bigger companies. Once you sign with them, they are gone! You are just another invoice marked paid! I personally wanted to choose a smaller company because I want the service and attention they can offer. I am very happy with Mitchell and his company. I have already recommended True Value to my friends and family! Thank you again Mitch, for giving me back piece of mind and great customer satisfaction! read more
