Made a reservation for 20 for a birthday on pretty short notice and these folks HOOKED US UP!

Had a great time hanging out with friends last weekend. Bronson is typically a popular location; so I was glad we were able to find a table. They do take reservations; so something to consider if you are planning a visit. We ordered a couple Dunkel beers, giant stuffed pretzel with jalapeños, tater tots, fries, and sausages for the table. One of my friends also ordered a salad, which she said was good. We enjoyed all the food and beer. We also played a couple board games, which they have several stacks of near the kitchen. Great beer options & incredible pretzels! I have come here for the beer & appetizers before, but they have solid veggie options on the menu. I am obsessed with the jalepeno pretzel and I love the unique options they have! I've split a pretzel between 2-3 people for dinner before! The beer cheese is OK, not the best, but the mustard is pretty good!! They have a great beer selection, and options -- classic of any German beer garden! They have you order via QR code and they bring the food and drink to your table. They have a lot of outdoor space and are very dog friendly as well. They have some live music on the weekends as well. A perfect place for lazy weekend. I liked they have German beers and mixed with different other beer. Not too many but just perfect. Service is ok. I wish they freeze their mug because I want that icy cold beer. The location is roomy and and the pricy is reasonable based on the local living cost. They have a special event for the puppy today. I didn't get a chance to try their food but I saw pretzel and pizza. If they have some a little more game which will be perfect. read more

I liked this beer hall in Arlington. Good space. Lots of TVs and has a pretty diverse beer menu. The gigantic stuffed German pretzels look amazing too. I wasn't too sold on the bar service or the QR code at each table ordering system. Each code is table unique so if you scan that code you have to be at that table to get your food. I didn't realize that as we had moved to a better seat after ordering and we had to flag down a server that looked like he had our food and was standing around all confused. I get that they don't want to have traditional servers walking about. But this seems like the system would get annoying at times. Overall a decent beer and bar food experience. read more

I came here with a group of friends after a long day of sightseeing and ate at one of the tables outside. The outdoor area was heated, which was nice with how chilly it was outside. We ordered two of the giant pretzels, which came with beer cheese and beer mustard. The beer cheese was by far my favorite to use to dip - it was creamy and delicious. The pretzels themselves were great too: freshly baked, warm, and soft. We got the Caprese pretzel (stuffed with mozzarella, basil, tomatoes) and M.A.C. Pretzel (stuffed with pepperoni and mozzarella). They were both really satisfying! While the food was great, it was very loud, even outside. We had to shout to hear each other, which isn't ideal. This is a great bar to come enjoy drinks with friends. Very laid back and causal. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Groups small or large. *** Apparent VIP Policy In Place While the indoor seating was full, we found a perfect patio seat next to a heater and directly in front a widow television showing the commanders/cowboys game that we came to watch. We ordered food as the game began and all was well, until.....without warning, the channel was changed to a different game. Some other customers who had just arrived directed us to another television behind our backs where the was/dal game was moved to. When the server came by with our beverages, I ask was there a reason for changing the channel, here's what she said... We had a request to change it and figured you all could just move over to the other seating near a different television. I asked who requested it. She indicated it was requested by the same customers who were directing me to a screen behind my back. Although highly offended, I politely explained to the server that not only were we their first, which was already clear, but I had hand picked that seating because it was next to an outdoor heater and directly in front of screen with game. She appeared a bit bewildered by me expressing the inappropriateness of the ordeal, but we soon noticed the was/dal game returned I am not certain what gave the other customers that arrived long after us the feeling of such priority or extra privilege, but I was more so disappointed and offended that the staff supported it unapologetically. An additional fact: We were the only African Americans dinning on the patio, which may or may not be relevant. Regardless, the experience left us feeling a certain way so we just ate quick and left. If there is a VIP policy it should be posted, otherwise customers should not have to be rudely inconveneced to accommodate other select customers. read more

Spacious, fast and centrally located in Ballston. Despite how big the space is, it gets packed on game and event days. Easy mobile ordering brought to your table but also fast bar service. One of these rare occasions where I wish I had another star! Great location on busy Fairfax Dr but plenty of parking. Lots of outdoor seating which I choose to enjoy the last of the days sunshine. Great selection of beer, I ended up with a Hawaiian Mango one, refreshing. Had a sausage sandwich, my buddy had a bratwurst, both were amazingly good, get the tater tot as a side. I had a great experience here! I love how dog friendly they are. My dogs had a blast playing with the other dogs here, and there were even poop bags, dog treats, and dog bowls for water. Came for a networking event from 5:30 - 7 PM and man, it was SO LOUD! I could barely hear myself talk or even think at times. Honestly though, some people like the loudness and live music so to each their own! But I would highly recommend hosting a networking event outdoors as they have a very big patio area with lots of seating, and it's dog friendly! They have a bunch of food options and when I tasted a friend's cheese curds, they were delicious. I ordered the bier cheese and chips and regretted it...the bier cheese didn't add enough flavor to make up for the burnt chip taste of the fresh chips. I did like how fast service was and how you just scan the QR code on the table and they'll come to you. There's also lots of water dispensers around the restaurant so you can bring your own water bottle or grab a cup from next to the dispenser. read more

Wow! Thoroughly impressed by Bronson bierhall not only as a bierhall but for food! They have tremendous offerings of quality. U ordered 8 wings (old bay and buffalo split 4/4) and those were some of the best wings I've had in a while! They were crunchy and filled with flavor without being drowned in sauce or rub. The meat was cooked perfectly it was nearly fall of the bone! THE BRUSSEL SPROUTS. I DREAM OF THOSE BRUSSEL SPROUTS. They were perfectly cooked and had a sort of sauce on them that added the perfect hint of sweetness. I was so full and had to fight every bone in my body from finishing them just because they were so yummy (I took them as leftovers and they were just as good no worries!) I had one beer and it was a sour. I don't remember which one exactly but it was a blueberry and something else flavor. I am not a beer girl except when sours are in the mix, then I go crazy for them. I appreciate Bronson for having a wide range of options not just for sours but for all kinds of beers and drinks alike! We were there for the big commanders v eagles game so the line to get in was pretty gruesome and the crowd inside was very much there but all in all it was very fun and they had a bunch of places to sit and ample tvs to watch the game! Good place to grab a German beer. You'll find a few interesting imports and a few locals for those not as adventurous. Food is what I would call German American bar food. Sausages had some decent flavor but nothing that knocked my socks off. Big pretzels are always super fresh. Went with the crab this time and it was very filing. The pretzels at Bronson are the best soft pretzels I've ever had. We got both the jalapeño cheddar and caprese pretzels. They both come with sauces and the cheese sauce is delicious. Bronson tends to be crowded most weekends nights and on warm weeknight nights as well. The inside can be really loud and hard to hear but the Biergarten outside is really nice. Manage your expectations! If you're looking for German beer and only German beer, this place is for you. But if you're like me, you're probably hoping for (slash expecting) full pours, decent schnitzel, and the ability to hear your drinking/dining companion(s). On those three fronts, Bronson did not deliver. When is NOVA going to get a Hofbrauhaus?! First, let's talk beer. No complaints with the menu - love Franziskaner, Paulaner, and Weihenstephaner. And no complaints with the speed of service. But when you're paying $9 or $18 per beer (for a half liter or full, respectively), I want my stein filled to the brim. Let the head settle, then top her off... This isn't rocket science; it's bartending 101, and Bronson's pours are too expensive to be so weak. And neither the food nor ambiance make up for the stingy pours. Our schnitzel was pounded so thin that it tasted only of the batter and oil in which it was fried. You cannot taste the meat, and that's a problem for me. If you're dining alone, the interior is loud and lively. Good people watching, live music (on a Thursday evening), and big screens. But if you want to hold conversation, your only option is to sit outside at the high-tops and picnic tables. Dog-friendly space, but you won't be able to hear the live music or enjoy the beer hall vibe when you're sitting outdoors. Will NOT return or recommend. read more

Good vibes to spend a great afternoon here! I came here with a big group and sat outside. The bierhall is huge with plenty of outdoor seating. They have a great beer selection to satisfy everyone in your group, and you have to try the appetizers, especially the pierogi and pretzels! What really struck me was how fast and efficient the service was. Not only do they have QR codes, but you can input your table number and order directly on your phone! So fun!!! What a great place to go with a group of friends. The way they take orders is sooo easy and convenient. You basically scan a bar code on the table, browse the menu, place your order, and pay--all through their portal. Then, your food is brought straight to the table and no need to wait for the check. Foodwise- their Reuben is one of the best Reuben's I've ever had. The pastrami is so so good. You can't go wrong with the classic pretzel, it comes with delicious beer cheese and mustard. What a fun place to watch a game! I'm not a big sports girlie but my friends are and the atmosphere was fun even for me. The currywurst was ok - nothing special. I prefer a stronger curry flavor and more sauce and the wurst was a little dry across the board (including a friend's sausage platter). I got the Tucher Festbier and it was great - we recently went to Oktoberfest in Germany and this brought back good memories!!! You scan the QR code on the table to place your order online. They brought out the beer almost immediately and food was very quick as well. The giant pretzel really was GIANT - be prepared to share or be very hungry. Although technically a "German restaurant", you would think it was simply a sports bar on the weekends. Really fun place to watch games- they have TVs all over the restaurant, as well as the bar, both inside and outside. They also have a large picnic table inside with a big screen projector (great for large parties). It appeared to me that dogs were allowed both inside and outside. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, it's a fun place- I would give the atmosphere 5 stars. When it comes to the food, I would give it 3 stars, for just your typical "bar food". I ordered the wings, the cheddar pretzel, and the pierogis- all were pretty decent. The beer selection is great, and they have several local beers on tap. What a fun place- good food & terrific ambience! We came on a busy Saturday afternoon & still found a seat. After ordering at the bar (their tabletop ordering system was down), we sat outside and started with a couple of their gigantic pretzels & some drinks. The pretzels were fantastic & came with a delicious cheese fondue plus some good stone ground mustard. My son ordered the Reuben which was tasty too & went well with his Austrian beer. My daughter & I ordered a couple cherry blossom mules (I think that's what they are called) & we were a bit disappointed as there wasn't really much cherry flavor. We also ordered the schnitzel strips which were the most disappointing as they were basically chicken strips served with honey mustard & nothing like schnitzel. It is incredibly, incredibly loud during HH, which is a very DMV phenomenon, but will deter me from returning, unless I am there earlier in the afternoon or on a nice day to sit outside. For a German bierhall that gives you very authentic Oktoberfest vibes, I found the beer selection descriptions to be not sufficient. The online menu is organized by sizes, and not flavor profiles, which I always find more helpful. Would have appreciated more bottled options. Always have a good experience here at Bronson's! Been here a handful of times. A fun social environment. Usually a place to meet up with friends, drink, and eat a good huge pretzel. In the summer I sit outside in the patio area and bring my dogs with me. They're always a huge hit. The pretzels are so big and so good. Always have leftover that I bring home and eat for a snack! Great place to hang out with friends on a Saturday evening. Certainly if you're a sports fan, you're in luck. With great food and viewing screens, make this your go to watch bar. Would certainly reccamended sharing a pretzel with friends. Certainly they are quite large and meant to be shared. I do wish they had a few more flavor selections for the pretzels such as a sweet one. That being said the options that they did have were great. I would certainly come back here to try the jalapeño pretzel too. The service was wonderful as well. Loved our experience here. I love how they are doing contactless ordering which allows you to enjoy conversation with friends and are able to order on your own time. The inside is so beautifully decorated and their menu is extensive with a lot of great options. We got the pierogis, pepperoni pretzel, and sausage sampler board. All the food was super good and the beers were all amazing. I'd love to come back just to try some of the other items on the menu. The only thing I wish they had is a flight so you could try more of their awesome selection of beer instead of getting full off of 2 .5L. read more
