Stopped in Paso Robles for gas and a quick bite on our road trip, and we were craving a good burger that wouldn't upset our stomachs for the rest of the drive. At first, all we saw were the usual fast-food chains, but then our navigation showed Bronco Burgers nearby -- and wow, are we glad we gave it a try! My guys ordered burgers and couldn't stop talking about them. Huge, flavorful patties on the softest, freshest buns -- definitely some of the best burgers we've had on the road. I decided to switch it up and ordered the tri-tip taco, and it was absolutely delicious. Fresh crisp lettuce, tender meat, cheese, and salsa... simple ingredients done perfectly. The food alone deserves 5 stars, but what really made the experience stand out was the staff. Everyone was upbeat, friendly, and smiling, which made us feel genuinely welcome after a long drive. Bronco Burgers has officially become a must-stop tradition for our family as we make trips back and forth to our son's college over the next few years. I showed up today with my service dog and I was immediately stopped at the front door and the lady yelled at me and said "No Dogs Allowed". I've traveled to many restaurants and if no dogs are allowed it's usually posted or I will be given an option to set outside and order. Bronco burgers did not give me an option and were very rude. There food ratings may be good but there customer service is terrible and they should remember that service dogs play a key role for people with disability rely on service dogs for daily activities. I then drove to the Spirit of Paso Robles Restaurant and I was greeted kindly at the front door and I was asked to walk around to the patio and I would be greeted to place my order and my service dog was welcomed very kindly with a bowl of water. read more

Was looking for a burger as we were passing thru and this place looked promising. Ordered a Bronco and ABC burger. The burgers are huge. Unfortunately the meat had no seasoning on it and the ABC had so much mayo and 1000 island sauce the veggies were drowning. Besides the burgers being mediocre at best, the place is disgustingly dirty. The hvac vents filled with dust, the ceiling covered with dust, the air curtain covered with dust/grease build up, debris built up in the missing tiles around the counter and the walls are filthy. This was the perfect spot before an afternoon of wine tasting! Parking was very limited when we arrived around noon on a Friday, but we were able to find a spot and order as soon as we walked in. Food was prepared in less than 10 minutes, and was incredibly fresh!!! For around $15 a burger, you get a good portion. These were pretty big burgers so worth the money. Fries were delicious as well. 12$ onion rings! The burger was really good. I got a bronco burger. Service was fast enough for lunch. No complaints there. But..... When asked by the cashier if i wanted any fries, i looked up at the menu board and saw 1 order of onion rings for 12$! Yes. 12$. Ill say it again so maybe you will understand. This place charges 12$ for one order of onion rings, and its not a joke. I cannot recommend a restaurant that does that. Also, there is almost no parking and its next to a busy car wash that has people whizzing in and out and driving like general idiots in the parking lot. Ortega Burger The fries are salty, crispy goodness, we got the large...and it IS large. The Ortega Burger was delicious, it was like an old fashioned burger...tasty, tasty, tasty..the pepper in it was the boldest part of the sandwich and the beef was charbroiled, with a primal hints of prime beef (we are in wine country, you know). I just wish the patty was a little thicker, but damn it was good. The fish taco was delicious when all contents are eaten together. The fried fish alone was masterfully complimented by the sauce and lettuce. It's big!!! Oh, the taco had a hint of freshly fried cod and yummy sauce. read more

Burgers are bland, and the place is dirty. Very expensive for what you get. I live close by and used to pick up a cheeseburger and onion ring every now and then, but it's been years since my last visit. Basic cheeseburger burger $15 on a fresh bun is oversized but could be more flavorful. Onion rings are now $12, so I passed on those. $3 for a small side of fries. This is a tiny spot in car wash parking lot. Zero ambiance, and interior is very dirty. Prices are too high. I feel for restaurant owners trying to keep their business afloat in the current economy. But Bronco needs to step up their game to keep people coming back and paying double what they paid 4 years ago. Never again. read more

Bronco burger It's been awhile since I have been here. It's a tiny little place located next to a tinier coffee shop and car wash. It reminds me of a place where I grew up. I love that it is a family owned and operated restaurant. I ordered a cheeseburger, large fry and drink. The burger is really big and the large fry comes in a basket. The burger tastes like a homemade burger. You can tell that it's not a frozen patty, but that the patty is made from fresh ground beef. The fries are my absolute favorite! They are shoestring fries with great seasoning. Just the right amount of salt and paprika. After having it again, I can't believe I've waited so long to go back. A Paso Robles Staple. A little restaurant, sharing a parking lot with self car wash and drive up coffee. The restaurant has 4 to 5 tables inside with also stool window seating. There are 4 outdoor tables, as well. The service is always good. They greet you, you order up front and your food comes out reasonably quick. I ordered the Grilled Chicken, Lg Fries, Onion Rings, and a Coke. I usually ask for it on a bun, forgot. The grilled chicken was juicy and nice char taste. The toasted bread, fresh veg, alfalfa sprouts and grilled onions completed it. The French fries were hot and perfectly seasoned. Great shoestring! The onion rings maybe be my favorite of any in the county; Crunchy, Savory, Sweet, Fully Cooked Onion, with Ranch. Bomb! Love the self service Soda. An unassuming small burger joint next to a car wash. Came during a trip towards Southern California. My partner ordered a Cheeseburger, I had the Bronco Burger and we shared Large Fries. Nice patio but after I ordered food for we were told we could not have our dog on the patio We chose this venue because they had outdoor dining. yes there was a sign for no dogs, but usually means indoor. I didn't see it when entering. The cook told us the patio was fine for the dog, but when we went out to sit down, the waitress came out and told us that our dog couldn't be there. I canceled my order and got a refund, plus my tip money and left. I have always loved their food, but who doesn't allow pets on a patio. We drove an hour to Kettleman City for lunch since we were on our way out of town and didn't want to drive back to Paso. Very disappointed, and confused with being told yes by the cook and no by the waitress. Don't expect I'll be back anytime soon read more

Came here on a Sunday for lunch after wine tasting. Bronco burger was amazing. I could have had it spicier but was perfect spice level for my wife. Coming from SF Bay Area, price was fine for us and for us was definitely worth it for how big it was. It's a charbroiled burger and was seasoned. Here's the deal... I've been eating at Bronco Burger for years now, and I really enjoy their food. But now, their burgers are $15 each, and unfortunately, I can get better burgers elsewhere for that money. I know the inflation has hit everybody, but $15 is just too much, especially when you can't get a free ranch to dip. $50 for a small, $100 for a "large". Its too bad too, because with these prices, I won't be eating here anymore, and I know others will feel the same way...its only a matter of time before they're forced to close. Nice hidden gem, no glamour or flair here, just good burgers. The staff here was very kind and helpful. The food was good, a little on the pricey side though. Burgers were all 10 dollars and up, no combos offered on their burgers. 25 bucks just for 2 burgers. Kind of steep. The seating area inside was very small, maybe 4 tables. Really great burgers and fries. If you eat in they are good and hot. We're from out of town so we don't know about other menu items. Fries are enough to share, even the small size. Burger buns were crisply toasted and the burger was juicy. The whole burger is big. The only negative is things are pretty pricey. Sandwiches don't come as a combo so it's good that fries are large enough to share. Service was friendly and fast but we were there on a weekday. It is walk up ordering with a few tables inside and more outside. No drive-through. We were hungry for a good burger and we weren't disappointed. read more

My coworker grew up in the area so he mentioned some burger joints to try out and this was one of them. I was greeted by the friendly cashier and I took a quick look at the menu. I decided on the Bronco Burger and small fries. While I grabbed a seat I checked out the small dining area. cleanliness and fly control could've been better. I am here for the food and about 10 minutes my burger arrives to my table. Pretty good size and I enjoyed the grilled Ortega peppers with the chipotle sauce. Fries were cooked just right too! The burger was good but did not knock me off me feet. This is a place to come by again to try the other items on the menu. Well worth the price for sure. read more

I didn't get a great look because I got rejected so quickly. They also have one table outside and maybe two parking spots. It's a bit out of the way, but the Yelp reviews were decent so I thought we should try it out They close at 3pm ...supposedly. We got there at 2:25. The outside table was occupied but no one was inside. I walked in and an otherwise friendly young lady asks me if we called in an order. I said we did not. She then very nicely said: sorry we out of burgers. I had to ask: You're out of burgers?! She said yes we are closed now. Me: Serious? Her: Yes, we are closed. So this may be the downfall of civilization. Right here in Paso Robles. It's at least a warning to the hamburger civilization. How does one run out of hamburgers? Ona Wednesday?!?! I go to BBQ place that frequently runs out of smoked brisket. You sort of expect that. But it doesn't take 10 hours to make a burger. ...well here it might. I was on a work trip and the hunger games began, I was pulling a trailer so finding a restaurant with easy access was important, I looked up Bronco Burger and saw that it fit the bill. A very friendly place, service was prompt and courteous, I didn't know what to order so I went with the business named hamburger. I have to admit I couldn't finish it, not because of poor quality but the SIZE. I love chili's anyway and the bacon was an added mouthwatering experience. The fries were up to par with the hamburger and a soft drink rounded out my visit to this wonderful restaurant. I hope you try it. read more
