The Broken Yoke tries to be an upscale breakfast/lunch chain and it succeeds more than it fails. We came here for Brunch around 11:30 and we were #28 on the Yelp Waiting List. But our time passed pretty quickly and we were soon seated within thirty minutes. Where Broken Yoke is different than Denny's, is their Drinks menu. Here they offer a Bloody Mary Flight and a Mimosa Flight, along with a variety of Specialty Coffee drinks. We ordered the Buttermilk Pancakes, which came with Bacon or Sausage and any style Eggs. We also tried the Churros French Toast, with a side of Bacon and Sausage. Both were pretty good. The Eggs lacked taste and the French Toast, was more sugary flavored, than Cinnamon. What a great breakfast spot here across the street from the Temecula Mall! Everything my fam ordered was great... The chocolate chip pancakes, cinnamon roll pancakes, nutella crepes, the country biscuits and gravy with chicken (SO good!), the yogurt parfait, And the kids breakfast with Mickey Mouse pancakes. Even the french fries were good with the kids breakfast. I really loved being able to reserve a table through the Yelp app.. It made our visit even that much better being able to walk into a table! Service here was fantastic despite being extremely busy. Food all came out hot and fresh at the same time, And the bathrooms were clean! Sooooo happy we found the broken yolk! Its been in temecula forever BUT my husband and I actually ate at broken yolk while in vegas & it was amazing! So we were so happy to know there was one local! We had the early bird specials, which are available daily from 7am to 9am - fantastic deals! Their coffee is delicious and hot and the service is great! The restaurant is very spacious as well. This was my first time going to this restaurant and I will be coming back for future visits. The customer service was wonderful! Kayla P. was our server and she was extremely attentive. She came with refills on our drinks before we were out. Nowadays you almost have to chase someone down for a refill but Kayla was on top of it! She also was great on checking in with us. My husband order the chilaquiles and I ordered the hash skillet. We also had the lemon ricotta pancake on the side to share. The pancake was perfect! You could take the lemon and the blueberries were a nice add on. My husband enjoyed his chilaquiles bowl and I thought the hash skillet was good. Kayla brought me a side of the red sauce they use and it was a great addition to the hash skillet to give it an extra kick. Lastly, the overall look of the restaurant was nice. We got seated right away and sat in a comfy booth. The tables from what I can tell would have been nice as well. Restaurant was super clean and plenty of staff on hand. I picked sope Benedict. Basically, it's two sope bread with shredded beef, pico de callo and sour cream and avocado also poached eggs. My poached eggs were not runny. My friend had the avocado toast with scrambled eggs and she ate it all. I would definitely come back because menu looks like a good big selection and very spacious dining area. Food is good, service is very good, so why the low review? 1. even considering inflation, I feel the food is overpriced; three adults and one two y/o child ate a modest breakfast and the bill was $100 (I had oatmeal). Very expensive and not sure value was there for the price; 2. Automatic adding 20% to bill; beyond tacky; I deleted and gave a flat $10 for tip; gave less than I would have, because of their attempt to extort excessive tip. Waiter was visibly miffed. 3. Great food, no wait, and friendly service on a Sunday morning from Kayla. I haven't been to a broken yolk in a while being from San Diego I remember the food being good so they clearly execute well in other chain restaurants.
