I've been eating here for over ten years, its as delicious now as it always has been. Their unique sandwiches and great view make perfect place to grab lunch. I've often enjoyed the window seat during the farmers market and watched all of the action on the street while eating one of their massive sandwiches. I always recommend getting the full size. I heats up well and is plenty for two meals. They also allow you to split it and add a side salad or soup for only a couple dollars more. The service here is always excellent, not to mention all the food choices and options are varied, full of fresh ingredients and always cooked well. My favorites are the Spicy Turkey, Bruschetta, and Caesar salad! Desserts are always delicious too. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone for lunch or dinner! Strange restaurant. I'm not sure about the super dry, super thick focaccia bread. We were in the mood for sandwiches and ordered the "thin bread" option. It was the same focaccia but half as thick----just as dry, I'd bet. Otherwise the sandwich toppings were good. Very large portions. The whole place could use a good cleaning. Everything is in kind of a 1890s Oak-themed time warp but really dusty. The carpet was filthy. I'm not sure I'd return. read more

My wife and I have been coming to Broadway Heights for years as they have always had the best sandwiches in town, my favorites include Moroccan Chicken & Spicy Turkey. Recently we came for dinner and were blown away!!! We shared the salmon cakes, which were amazingly flavorful and the Cajun Meatloaf. The Meatloaf alone was worth the trip as it was to die for! I love this place! This is what I crave when I visit Chico. The food is fresh and delicious, and the servings are hefty. Last time, my boyfriend and I had the Moroccan chicken sandwich with tomato basil soup, and the Rosemary chicken salad. They were both fantastic dishes that were large enough for us to take home leftovers! We've been here twice and will keep returning for the great food, decent prices, and great service! I took a 15 person group here last night and we were all very impressed with this restaurant. The service (thank you Jess) was very good especially with a big group. We all got our meals at the same time , hot and delicious. The best were the deserts-definitely save room!! I love good coffee and this passed the test also. The best focaccia sandwiches I have ever had. The thai focaccia sandwich is something else. Very clean, nice atmosphere (many windows from a second story overlooking busy downtown Chico). OMG...I could cry from joy every time I eat that tomato soup. You think that a veggie sammie has to be boring....these guys do me right every time I step foot in this place. I previously wrote a review criticizing their slow service. It apears they've fixed whatever the problem was, as the service is now top notch. Broadway heights serves the best sandwiches in town. They may seem more expensive than your average sandwich shop, but when you consider the quality and the included side dish, it's worth every penny. read more

So we went in as a group of 30 at like 4PM and they close at 5. We called in earlier to let them know we were coming. We ended up leaving past 6PM. more than an hour past closing and they still catered to us and took really good care of us. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! There was only 1 waitress to take care of us 30 ppl but she was really nice, polite, attentive, and stupendous. She refilled our raspberry lemonade really fast and left us the pitcher, PS the raspberry lemonade was free refills. I heard they only had 2 chefs to cook for all of us and they had to call in one more person to cook, we felt so bad but they went the extra mile to make us happy. Now the wait for the food took a lil while which was understandable. They brought us these bread and dip appetizers to us which were incredible. I ordered a turkey avocado sandwich with a side of Cesar salad which was HUGE! It was a tasty sandwich. This was my first really meal in the City of Chico and I was truly impressed by the quality of their food and the exemplary service. Usually they don't split the check for such a large group but for us, they made an exception. They split the check which made paying so much more easier and efficient. Special thank you to Broadway Heights for the worst birthday dinner. After being seated in a less than half empty restaurant, we were informed that they were "out of all of their dinner entrees" and that we were limited to picking from their salad or sandwiches. (What restaurant runs out of every single dinner entree by 7pm on a Saturday night!?) This would be fine, except that I have celiacs disease & am deathly allergic to gluten, so I was limited to salads. For your 21st birthday, that's not such a great way to prep your tummy for the night! I specifically told my server that I cannot have any bread of any kind, and she reassured me that she couldn't have gluten either & understood. However, when our server finally brought out my salad it had an enormous amount of croutons mixed in. When I politely asked her to bring me a new one, she told me it was my fault that I didn't remind her, and that the kitchen staff was "too busy to make me a new one". WOW, what fantastic customer service! My friends and I were then all constantly reminded by our waitress that our food was "going to take extra long because the kitchen staff is overwhelmed" and our waitress was "too scared of them to go check on our orders". Not exactly something that you should be telling your customers, I don't think. I'm so glad the Bear gave me free fries for my birthday, otherwise I may have starved to death on my own birthday. If I had the chance to go back in time, I wouldn't have gone to Broadway Heights for dinner. read more

I wish there were separate ratings for the food and the service. The restaurant is a favorite of one of the people in our party of four. She raved about the sandwiches. I was immediately impressed by the delightful ambiance but that feeling quickly melted away during the long hour of waiting for our 3 sandwiches and a pizza. When our waitress was asked what was taking so long and why people who came after us were already eating, she tried to explain that they only ordered salads. Not true...but this would have not been so important had she at least apologize. Her manager came out and he was...without a doubt...the rudest most unpleasant man you could ever imagine...he was very annoyed that we would be dissatisfied! Certainly no apology coming from him. So...it is 5 stars for the food! But 0 for the service!! read more

The night we went there it was not busy but it took 45 min to get our food from the time we ordered. The waitress was nice but phony and then a bit rude. The food was pretty good. I had a salad that was really too huge, and I am a big eater, but it was delicious. Others had the crab cakes and loved them and pizza which was good, but was not made the way we ordered it. Them being called "the best place for lunch" in Chico must be a joke. This place has gone extremely downhill since I've been here the past 2 years. The waiter managed to mess up both my boyfriend and my orders even though we were the only people in the restaurant at the time.. the soup was watery and borderline inedible. The sandwiches were burnt and the chicken in mine was not seasoned at all and there was hardly any pesto sauce in the pesto sandwich. Extremely overpriced. Will not be going back! read more

Favorite place to eat in town. It can get pricey, but there is no doubting the quality of taste of the food here. Its outstanding, I always get the stuffed foccacia roll appetizer and a chicken pesto Alfredo pizza. The Caesar salad is huge and delicious and the sandwiches are massive. Me and my husband loved this place we would go at least once a week or ever other week. The last two times were terrible. Two weeks a cook had cat hair all over the back of his black jacket. I LOVE this place. Like, I ask to go here all the time if the Boyfriend wants to get dinner. HOWEVER, I've been there enough times to wonder why it's slightly inconsistent. And I do mean just slightly. Their food is never bad. There's never been a reason NOT to go there. I adore their almond chicken salad, it's phenomenal! The Boyfriend always has their pesto chicken sandwich and the last time we went he discovered you can make it spicy for 25 cents more (not sure why it costs a quarter to add spice to something?) which he likes because he does the spicy thing. This last time, they had Sierra Nevada's Brown Ale on tap (my FAVORITE) but it took awhile to get my soup :( THEN, my chicken parmesan sandwich came and it had that funky... Idk chicken taste to it, like the breast wasn't cleaned before it was cooked or something. Idk what it was. But every once in awhile I get a chicken sandwich and it has that odd taste and that's why I don't get chicken sandwiches anymore and this makes me sad because I always get their almond chicken salad salad (not a typo) and I decided to venture out this one time and was disappointed. Not great service took the waitress 30 minutes to even come over and take our order and there were only two other people in the restaurant. she just gave us waters didn't bother to ask if we wanted anything else and our table looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the place opened. This place has great food! I love the Thai Chicken sandwich and the bread is so fresh. The prices are fair and the setting is nice. The one bad things about this place is it takes forever. Even if the restaurant is not busy, after your order it takes ages to get your food. I would understand if it was a place that served extravagant entrees but when you order a sandwich and a salad there is no reason it should take so long. read more

if u haven't had their torte then ure missing out. imagine a magic explosion of deliciousness. cream cheese, sun dried tomatoes, pesto and cheese, all warm and gooey. you will seriously consider murdering your lunch date if they get too close, its a very primal experience. Their spicy Turkey sandwich is so effing good too. The only down side, they can't seem to get their soups down.
