hubby got salmon cakes for like 20 dollars!!! not the best, small and bland with what tasted like microwave vegtables???? come on how will you charge such a big price for food like that. Lunch today at Broadway Heights was very impressive! My boyfriend and I stopped by this afternoon, and we're sat promptly by the window looking over the street. The view and all of the food was awesome!!!! I am not a huge sandwich person, but the turkey pesto on focaccia bread was absolutely delicious. The tomato soup was light but very good, and the prosciutto appetizer was equally delightful. The basil made the dish. Even my boyfriend who generally will not touch a tomato admitted that everything was great and devoured the tomato soup! Our waitress Maria was a sweetheart, after a tip, two huge entrées, our appetizers, and an acai berry beer, we payed only about 40 dollars! Will be back! read more

This place has the best focaccia bread sandwiches in Chico. Paul and his wife (the owners) are very nice, and always there. They are on top of the quality and wonderful service. The service is always top shelf. The food is fresh, filling, and full of flavor. The view is very nice if you get a window seat. The salads are filling and tasteful. I love their focaccia bread! It really does make their sandwiches worth the price they charge for them (they're not cheap). I recently was visiting Chico and went to BH for lunch on a rainy and cold afternoon. The tomato Parmesan garlic soup was a perfect compliment to the weather and I had their California vegetarian sandwich. The sandwich only comes with mozzarella cheese and they have no other alternatives (save provolone...hello boring for both selections). The sammies were great and my lunch date enjoyed hers as well. She ordered the same soup and a BLT. We then split a strawberry shortcake dessert that was simply phenomenal. Incredibly fresh, light and delicious. I wish I had one right now to eat. Recommended, but be willing to pay a premium for that damn, delicious foccacia. read more

After my last visit (and poor review) I swore I would never eat here again, but we gave the manager feedback and were given a generous voucher and asked to come again when he was there, so we did. I am so glad we did. They took some of our feedback to heart and that was very encouraging. Kids now have the choice of the regular pasta with tomato soup or more pasta with butter and parmesan. Also, our kids were given coloring books and crayons and our food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. We were also asked if we would like our kid's food brought out as soon as it was ready. Our server was wonderful. She was very pleasant and attentive. She put up with our kids and seemed to be happy about it. Overall, it was a totally different experience and very good. This is my most favorite place to eat in all of Chico! Everything comes to the table in a perfect condition. Their Caesar Salad dressing is the best in the entire world. We have been eating there for over 15 years and the quality has never declined. They have the most refreshing Raspberry Iced Tea that is not sweet but tastes great. Service was pretty slow for the restaurant not being very busy. Our server was obviously very new, so I'll give her some room on that. Their no substitution rule is RIDICULOUS! They wouldn't even put a different spread on my sandwich, didn't care if it cost more just wanted marinara sauce (which is on other sandwiches) instead of pesto aioli because I don't like mayonnaise. Hughley disappointed. A group of four of us, visited 3/10/21. There was another couple as well. We had to keep asking our waitress for refills, napkins, etc. Our appetizer's arrived, once finished we stacked all the plates in the center of table, thinking the waitress would take them with her. Our meal arrives, just before she walked away, I asked if she could take the appetizer's plates and silverware. Then asked if we could have more silverware. At this point a rude comment, was made out loud. The waitress replied sure I'll bring more silverware. During the course of enjoying the meal our drinks run out. I noticed three men had sat down at another table, it was visible the waitress was spending more time at their table. She did finally make her self back to our table. Instead of looking if there was anything we needed. The comment was how you doing. Once again before she walked away, I said excuse me, we could use refills. After the refills were delivered. The check was placed on the table, quite forceful. Once again i said will need to Togo boxes. During this time her focus was on the table with the three young men. The service they received was completely different from our experience. It was embarrassing that our friends/guests experienced this type of service. I would not said a word, if the restaurant was packed with a wait list. However there was only two other customers. read more

I'd heard a lot about Broadway Heights from friends and was excited to finally try this restaurant for lunch last week. We were seated in the rotunda area of the Phoenix Building, which left a little bit to be desired in terms of ambiance. Nevertheless, the menu items looked delicious and there was a nice mix of sandwiches, pizzas, and salads. I didn't see much in the way of California cuisine, but thought that the menu appeared to be fairly Italian inspired. I selected the sandwich special, a Tuscan Italian sandwich served on fresh foccacia bread baked daily. And after perusing their nice beer menu, I selected a German porter to accompany my sandwich on a beautiful afternoon. Overall, I would say the meal was delicious. I have no regrets about dining here and would happily return for lunch again or dinner (same menu). I do wish the cafe had better seating, but their main dining room is so small that it's hard to get a seat near a window to enjoy the view the heights provides. Despite this, do not miss out on a good meal by passing up Broadway Heights. read more

This is a great place for lunch! The sandwiches and soup are delicious (I also love their BLT salad). They are a little pricey, but well worth it. The bread is freshly baked and they use many local ingredients. It has a great ambiance in its second-story old brick building and there is always local art on the walls for sale.
