I really enjoyed Broadway Heights, and have no complaints about the service. I loved how it was tucked upstairs and we could people-watch below us as people shopped in downtown Chico. I ordered the Rosemary Chicken Salad and a vegetable soup, and both were very tasty. The soup was a bit heavy for my taste, but the salad was large and the rosemary chicken was unique. This place has a very relaxed environment and is a great place for a group of 3-6 people to eat, or a quick date spot. The food is light and flavorful, meaning you will feel satisfied but not bloated. This typically seems to be a meetup spot for girls night out events as every time I am there it I am usually one of the few guys eating there. The sandwiches are really good, salads are generous and flavorful, and they can do some kind of fancy raspberry tea that the Mrs. loved. Well I came in today and ordered the same thing as last time, garlic chicken pizza & tomato garlic Parmesan soup. The pizza was great again - amazing home made crust and delicate favors (great with a glass of the Butterfield Chard) The soup however was watery and bitter (not creamy and tomatoey sweet like last time) but when we told the waitress, Tanessa, - who admitted they had a new cook and they needed to know what was wrong- she took our almost full bowl of soup away but still charged us for it. Great food! You can order directly on their website and pick up (they're upstairs at 300 Broadway). Staff was so friendly at pick up! I got the roasted veggie sandwich with a side salad. This is usually my go to spot for sandwiches but I had one of the worst experiences the last time I came in. I had ordered sandwiches for curbside pickup and when we arrived to get our sandwiches, the phone was not picked up. We called roughly for about 15 minutes and the calls were just being ignored. Oh man I loved this little restaurant! The upstairs made it unique. Seated next to the window, one oversees the street, a main location in the downtown area, perfect for people watching. The service was all over me. Professional and happy. Refreshing to say the least. They are well trained. No matter what's happening in their lives, they maintained a very pleasant profile. Then came the selection of these unique beers. I had two. The Organic Acai and a Brazilian beer called Xhinu...not sure on the spelling...wow, those were unique and very refreshing. The food was awesome! But our service was terrible! We had our, very well behaved, kids with us and were seated in the back corner. Drinks came out quickly, and were refilled once when it was not needed, then sat empty for the rest of the meal. Waitress didn't come back for 10 minutes to take our order, then the food took 45 minutes to arrive. We were told that the kids food 'took a little longer' but was very hot, WRONG.
