We stopped here for a late morning breakfast/brunch on Valentines Day as we began our drive home. I knew that Brigs was a local chain (not usually what we stop at), but the reviews were good. We didn't know this was adjacent to a Hampton Inn and we waited 45minutes for our table. The wait time was refreshingly accurate. There are many choices on the menu and our choices; Scramble Lorraine and Knight Royal Skillet were very good. Our only issue with the restaurant was the lack social distancing at the front door and waiting area. We waited in our car. Family restaurant with lots of breakfast/lunch menu options. Restaurant was clean, server was efficient and food was appropriately hot with good coffee. Husband ordered a denverish omelet with home fries and toast, all cooked well but little seasoning. I ordered a burger and fries and both were good. Bun was tasty and And burger was cooked as ordered to medium. Prices were reasonable with breakfast specials before 11. We will return. Could not be a better breakfast joint. Pancakes waffles eggs Benedict. My faves are the eggs Benedict dish called Briggs Benedict and the open face BLT. Place Hets busy of course. I typically call in take out but love it when I have the time to sit down slow down and have my coffee refilled several times. On that note the Tea and coffee is always good. My absolute favorite brunch spot. We go on Saturday's and they area always busy but we know that going in so we do not mind waiting and trust me, their food is worth the wait. They have an extensive menu with items such as eggs, eggs benedict, avocado toast, skillets, omelettes, scrambles, pancakes, french toast, salads, sandwiches and much much more. Once seated, the staff is very prompt and attentive in handling our order. The food does not take long to arrive despite the full restaurant. Why is this place always rated so high? Variety on the menu is my guess. Yes, they have a large variety of food choices. For a group with different appetites this could be a plus. However, every time I have visited Briggs of Wale Forest, I have left feeling unsatisfied. The restaurant is old. It feels dirty, and the food is subpar. Last time I visited I didn't even want to touch the sticky menu. I ordered a waffle and it was flat tasteless and just gross. No thank you. This place needs updating bad. There are much better restaurant choices in this area. I don't want to waste my time or money here again. read more

Briggs is and always be a breakfast favorite of ours. They have great food and reasonable prices (always have weekday breakfast specials !!!). We never go there and it's empty that tells you something!!! Today we went for breakfast had a 10-15 min wait. Our waitress was friendly, efficient and attentive. We heard a rumour that breakfast was free on a person's birthday, so we investigated. My very youthful looking bride came back to me the night before the Xnth anniversary of her birth date and confirmed that rumor. Next morning, it was Off to breakfast we went. My bride my daughter and I sauntered in expecting to have to wait an hour to get seated, but no, we only waited about 10 seconds for the hostess to pull out some menus and walk us to an available table in a back dining room. Hunger had overtaken me by this time because the smell of pancakes and waffles from the kitchen was a little overwhelming. I was feeling like a T-Rex on the prowl for any good hunk of food that came my way. Our server arrived after a short wait and asked about drinks. Coffee for me (I typically don't order coffee in restaurants except at breakfast), Bigelow Earl Grey tea for my bride and OJ for my daughter. Those arrived and we were ready to order some FOOD for our ravenous appetites. the Alaskan Omelet was the perfect choice for me - a little shrimp and blue crab wrapped in eggs with cream cheese and hollandaise sauce with a side of home fries. DELISH! I polished that off in such little time that my bride asked me if I remembered how it tasted. The decor could use an upgrade. The dining area is showing signs of wear, especially around the windows and related framing (rust in the window framing just covered up by paint). The noise level was very low and easily tolerable. When the bill came, my bride's meal was circled and "Birthday" was written next to it. We took it up to the register and sure enough, it was taken off. read more

First visit and I was very pleased. Got my basic omelet, ham and cheese, and it was really, really, really good. Eggs moist, but cooked. My choices for sides were English muffin (and they had little packs of orange marmalade!) and grits. I did have to add a ton of salt to my grits, but they were nice and creamy. An added bonus, the HUGE ball of butter on the grits. And as always, my honey ordered the Eggs Benedict. He was also happy with his. I have to say, of ALL the places we've been where he's gotten his favorite (the eggs Benedict) these looked the best. He said the Hollandaise sauce was out of this world. They also had layers a good bit of ham, it wasn't just one little scrawny slice that made you wonder if you'd even gotten meat! He got fruit and whatever they call the potatoes. He said the potatoes were just okay, but finished them after putting them into his empty egg plate and mixing them with what juice was left. Of course, if you read any of my other reviews the most important question is: will she go back? Yes, yes, and yes again! Next trip, there has to be a waffle for me! read more

Went to Brigs over a year ago and was not impressed. Searching for breakfast this AM in Wake Forest and decided to give Brigs another shot. Went in with low expectations, based on previous visit, and was pleasantly surprised today. They had featured omelets and pancakes - yummo pumpkin pancakes for this October holiday season. I decided to go for these delightful pumpkin cakes and ordered the combo with eggs and bacon. Husband went for the omelet with grits and an english muffin. We both ordered coffee to drink. Last time we were there, over a year ago we sat in the exact same table by the window in the front dining room. Strange, but just thought I would throw that out there. It was around 11:30am and they still had a good crowd with late risers trying to get their b-fast cravings filled. The server quickly brought out a carafe of coffee and an iced water. We poured up the coffees and asked for extra creamer. The coffee was definitely not my favorite, but since we had just recently been at Wake Forest Coffee shop, you really can't compare. We guzzled down the liquid caffeine and waited patiently for our meals. Within a matter of 10 minutes we were served piping hot breakfast spreads. Mine was adorable with the hotcakes served in a white dish with a handle and whipped cream around the edges. The bacon and scrambled eggs were on a separate platter. Husbands spread was all on one plate. He commented that it all was very good. I, however, found the eggs to seem like they were not "real" eggs, and found them to taste like an egg substitute and did not eat them. I think the last time I was in I ordered an omelet and this is why I said I did not like Brigs. However, the pumpkin pancakes were delish and really hit my "Breakfasty Holiday Loving" spot. Two breakfast platters were fairly priced around $8 each, but I thought the coffee was overpriced at $1.79 a cup. All in all, if I get a craving for pancakes I would go back - just avoiding the eggs and BYOC (Bring Your Own Coffee). read more
