I would give this company zero stars if possible. The apartment complex I live in has contracted these guys for landscaping and they do a horrendous job. Their work looks terrible and they utilize a leaf blower to blow more leaves in my patio than to clean the area. There's been repeated complaints about these guys. This past year Brightview has been horrible. While blowing leaves/gunk in the parking lots 4/11/22, my car was clean until they blew the leaves in the lot. My car was covered with mud and had leaves coming out of the doors including the trunk! And on the roof is mud! It was both sides too. Could they not see what mess they were creating. They need to not use the rolling blower around cars! I have never had an issue like this in the 21 yrs (yes 21 years!). Well that's a $20 car wash that is crap now. It took 2 car washes (at a good car wash facility) to get it clean. Not only am I out the first $20 they ruined that cleaning, but I am also out the additional $40. I'm frustrated that they have no regards to what they are doing! Now let's go to today, the HOA I live at in Northern VA has a contract (ends 2023) with Brightview. in that contract it states the grass is to be cut every 7-10 days. It has been several months since Brightview has been on sight to do anything! The grass is so high in places. But our HOA is paying the monthly contract rate every month ON TIME! BrightView is unfortunately contracted to perform landscaping work for my community in Northern Virginia. They haven't been here since April but are happily collecting $2600 from the community each month while lying that they haven't been paid. The HOA board recently complained and BrightView claimed they have been trying to "resolve" the situation. In actuality, they are ignoring the HOA's calls. They had the nerve to send an invoice for May and June despite performing 0 work. The community contract has a laundry list of landscaping items they supposedly perform, but of course they did the bare minimum before they stopped showing up altogether... If I was to give a review last year, it wouldn't have been good. However, after working with Nic Robles, Nicholas Ellison this year and them giving us a new crew a few months ago, Jose, Jose, Miguel and the other team members really have stepped up and provided us with the service that we had been and will continue to expect and pay for. It's only been a few months but I'm confident with the current crew we have, our property will keep standing out! Sometimes, you just have to be patient, positive, and work with them as they were struggling with keeping workers due to covid. But I'm BEYOND grateful for the new crew and it's been a pleasure to work with the Nic Robles and Nicholas Ellison. I would say they are rather pricey when it comes to irrigation and turn around time for issues, could improve but it will in time I'm sure. Hoping that my recent good experience will continue, because I was having the same issues that many of these reviews express, for over a year with them until recently. Meadow Ridge Apartments locate in Davis, Ca loved C&R Landscape, our property always look amazing! SUBCONTRACTORS BEWARE! CLIENTS BEWARE! This very unprofessional and shady company hired my company in spring 2022 as a subcontractor to perform landscape maintenance at several commercial locations. I Signed the contracts and signed up late March/early April. They never emailed me a copy of the contract for my records, which our company requested approximately 10 times. After months of being denied copies of the contracts (they knew we were looking for a way to cancel working for them) we decided we would walk away anyways. Brian Haberstroh was our contact and was VERY RUDE, unprofessional and threatened me multiple times both with violence and said he would make sure we didnt get paid. HE accused us of not performing work which we had photos and receipts proving we performed said services. He decided to keep approximately $2600 from us and it has been 4 months with no follow up contact and no payment received. If you hire them, just know they are barely paying their contractors and they will keep payment for any reason. Another representative was "assisting" me with the case and said "Other contractors are owed upwards of $100,000 for snow removal still" as if to make me feel better about not being paid my measly $2600. do not use this company do not work for them. Brian Haberstroh and Mark Fallert worked together with Kathy Roberts to keep my money along with blocking my companys phone numbers. read more

Calling all Homeowner associations please run not walk away from this business. My community HOA has a landscaping contract for half of the subdivision to do the front and some side yards along with community landscaping. This contract includes trimming of bushes, weeding, fertilizer, mulch, weekly grass cutting during prime season, leaf removal etc. At the end of the growing season when all the leaves are falling they never came to remove any leaves the whole season they just let them stay and suffocate the grass so that when it was spring it was so many leaves that it was just causing bald spots in my yard and others. Apparently we pay them to cut even when they do not come to cut. They will skip any day that it rains and never make it up. You will go 2 to 3 weeks without having your yard mowed. Since they do not cover all of the grass you have your own cutting services and those services still provide service to other parts of your yard, but this company does not. We received a community notification that they will be back on normal services starting next week which means my yard will go three weeks without being cut. It says that if some yards are too wet to cut they will not cut any of the yards. I mean what kind of ridiculous rules our contract is this? If other vendors can get out here and perform the services so can Brightview. When they do perform services believe you me it is the worst job that anyone can do. They will cut your fence, destroy your bushes when it comes time to trim them. Actually they killed one of my bushes by over trimming it. I told the guy and they said they thought I wanted to have it not so full. Well they got their wish it's not full and it may not even be alive anymore. For several weeks I had to complain to get them to remove all the leaves. I even got out there myself twice to remove some of them. It was so many that I got a blister on my hand from working for hours to remove leaves they said that they removed. When they do perform their weekly service they edge the entire amount of houses that they are doing for the day and leave all the brush and grass there to blow around the neighborhood. Then they cut it and after hours or even the whole day they come by and blow all of the trim into your garage into your flowerbeds and by your door.Several of the community members get into fights with this company and our association has to tell us not to argue or assault the brightview workers. Really? Now that tells you the type of job that they do for service if people are yelling at them and at the point of assault. We have been forced by our covenants to have landscaping services which wouldn't be a problem if this company did a good job. I have spoken to other HOA communities and they use them and think they do a poor job as well. I am not sure if there are other big landscaping companies but who cares even if they were small medium or large I would have to revisit that because we are paying these people to not do anything. We are paying them to provide terrible work. This cost as homeowners lots more money to duplicate a lot of the efforts that are supposed to be done by Brightview. We should not have to complain everyday and every week without resolution. Our beds have weeds in them, they damage the shrubs when they trim them. I actually had to pay another service to do additional fertilizer because it doesn't seem like they do any. I really wish I had just had my other guy cut my yard because who knows when this company will finally be on schedule. When you have other vendors for your own personal use if they don't come you don't pay them. But also if they can't come a day they make it up in the same week they don't wait weeks to perform the service. I'm so upset I'm heading to BBB to review next. I want to make sure others do not make a mistake thinking they are getting good landscaping services. If you want your community to look good do not sign with this company. read more

I would give zero stars to Brightview Landscapers if that was an option. They do our local community (HOA) so unfortunately for now we have to deal with them. We pay for services but they do next to nothing and whatever they do do is done poorly and with no regard to your property or the condition of your plants. Sometimes weeks go by and they don't even show up. They don't check on anything and their "clean up" consists of blowing all the leaves and trimmings under your bushes. They busted my front door window with a rock that had gotten caught in their lawnmower. I even filed a police report, no action was taken against the lawn company. This is the new service for my subdivision in Cedar Lake. As a HOA member we do not exactly get to pick the landscaping company for the neighborhood. The are on a new contract this season. First of all, they absolutely can not handle the job. Other companies that have had the sane contract were able to complete the job in one day and keep up with the grass cutting. Brightview is terrible. It take them 2 and sometimes even 3 days to just cut the grass. It is June 14th and they finally were able to get to the mulch and bush trimmings. They were not able to complete that in one day. Destroyed people's personal property and and left a mess. If i could give them 0 stars that would be a better option. My HOA is getting wripped off and the community members are the ones paying for it. Do not take contracts that your company can not handle. I was a a mobile car was (el car wash) in miramar fl with my 2 kids and wife the driver a bright-view truck with signs on the side meaning he was still representing this company almost hit my car on purpose i was next in line and he decided to get in front of me almost hit my vehicle and look through the window like letting me know what he did would not let me go after the car wash he goes to do vacuum and park next to me looking at me like waiting for me to say something so he could get into an argument or fight i said to myself not here not with my kids i was raised better than him and decided to let go. If a driver like this that works in communities were kids live, families have that lack of kindness im sure the one that hired him does also and that says a lot about a company. I was driving down the street when there was a loud bang and my window shattered. I went to the nearest police department and filed a report. A policeman went back to where my window shattered and he found out that a gardening company machine threw a rock into my window. That was two months ago. two months of promises from Brightview that my check was being processed and would be sent. I have finally filed a claim against the city they were working for. Horrible company! Hired for our HOA and what a mistake. We went from a well kept neighborhood to a neighborhood that looks like a ghetto thanks to this company. They never did a good or a complete job. After complaining, the rep came out and did a walk thru of the neighborhood to see all the things left undone. After promises it would make improvements, it only got worse. Finally told them that we were not renewing them. Despite having 2 months left on their contract, they simply stopped all services except occasional mowing. No picking up of leaves, no spraying for weeds to mention a few. Neighborhood now looks horrible. Guessing that they don't treat their workers well due to the fact that not a single one of them seemed to give a crap. This is the "yard service" retained by a retirement community in Northern CA. As a resident here I cannot for the life of me understand why the HOA continues to retain this company. They are incompetent, inefficient, and rude. 1. We are in the midst of a DANGEROUS PANDEMIC. Yet NONE of these crew members EVER wears masks. So disrespectful and dangerous to senior citizen residents here, most of whom fall into "high risk" for CV categories. 2. They take SEVERAL days a week ALL DAY LONG, EVERY WEEK (even weekends!) to do tasks that a competent, efficient crew could do in a single day or so and consistently show up ridiculously early in AM, waking up residents with obnoxious, loud noise. There is NO REASON (other than dragging out work to overcharge, pad the bills) for these people to show up MULTIPLE days EVERY week AND weekends to do light yard work they could do once a week. Also they always show up early in the AM and take long "breaks" during the day...sitting around in groups, chatting. They "mow" yards that don't need mowing and run leaf blowers on empty streets/pavement. Yeah...really "essential work" that justifies their annoying presence here MULTIPLE days a week... 3. On several occasions I have found garbage left behind in the street or parks (food containers, candy wrappers) after their "work" days. Once I even found an empty Corona beer bottle. Most residents here take pride in the appearance of their home and surrounding grounds, esp. because of the high housing prices and HOA fees. And NONE of them drink cheap Mexican beer brands, let alone toss empty beer bottles into the yards, parks. We have garbage cans easily visible throughout the grounds. You would think they would at least use them instead of trashing the place as they leave from their "hard day at work". read more
