Brightview is probably the worst landscape companies our Community has signed with, and that's really saying something because we've had a few very poor landscape vendors. Their communications with the community are nonexistent, the quality of their work is poor and their employees have been known to be disrespectful of the residents. I would suggest to any community considering them to understand that don't let their national presence fool you. We spend roughly a $1M on their "services" in our community but the quality of their work in no way reflects the value spent. For a strip mall or commercial property they're adequate, but for a residential community, I strongly recommend looking for a local landscaping company. read more

I was referred by a friend who works for a city that Bright view is a vendor for. This friend referred me to the supervisor for bright view. He actually got me in contact with a supervisor. We made contact and I was asked to come for an interview. At there Office in Gardena. I arrived early let the receptionist know I was here for an interview. I waited for at least an hour. Finally, the person I had contact with say me down and we had our interview. As I had my first interview I was asked if I can wait around for a second interview. I had my second interview and was told they would let me know. Well! To this day I was never was notified or called that they where not interested. I was GHOSTED by this company. The employees cannot adequately install nor maintain any type of landscape or irrigation, and there is no oversight or follow-up until you complain to the management staff. The management staff seem to have a high turnover rate, so your issues are not resolved and you will be left disappointed again and again. I highly recommend BrightView Landscaping! I manage an apartment community in Rancho Cucamonga for the past 5 years. We brought BrightView in about 18 months ago because our old landscape vendor was letting all our plant material die around the pool and outside the resident garages. It seems like the old vendor just stopped caring. But when BrightView came in I didn't realize what I was missing. The communication and feedback I get from them is night and day from what I was getting before. I get these reports with pictures and notes that just makes it really easy to manage what's going on out there. Overall, I'm super pleased with the work they've done. I've referred BrightView to a couple of other communities we manage in the IE and they have done an outstanding job at all those communities, too. We all couldn't be more pleased. Brightview recently took over taking care of the school in my neighborhood and I cannot believe how much better the property looks! The grass is green again, no longer overgrown, and there is no more foliage lingering on the walk paths any longer! I was out walking my dog and saw the crews picking up all of the grass clippings and leaves they cut; I was just so impressed with their attention to detail. Brightview recently took over the landscape maintenance of our beautiful upscale gated community in Dallas and they have been awful. Since their contract started they have done nothing, as our neighbors throughout the community share their frustrations, all of the community landscape areas as well as our personal yards, have not been maintained at all and look absolutely terrible. When we complain their answer is that they do not have the staff to handle this job....so why did they ?? We have lived here for almost 9 years and have never had our yards or community look this bad, and there is no excuse. This company is a joke! I live in Portland Oregon. My condominium complex has never looked so bad. They never do a complete job. Many of the bushes and trees have not been trimmed going on 2 years. Lawns are hideous. Things are so overgrown that it is an embarrassment for people trying to sell or rent their units. Their Customer Service is terrible. We have been sending pictures to them so they can see what hasn't been done and their lack of service. Nothing has changed!!! They certainly don't care about small communities. Windermere, FL: our 28 home, HOA contracted with BrighView 6 months ago. Not sure where the blame falls but we have spoken with the crew doing the work, the crew manager and the account manager and it just gets worse and worse. They do not soft-edge, meaning there is no edging of garden beds. Instead they mow them, mowing over the plants. 32, 5 year mature Muhly grasses just mowed over this time. Use string trimmers and repeatedly cut through screens on various lanais. Mow over drains and downspouts. Appears the limited equipment used is in poor condition - the grass is torn and not cut, blades must be in bad shape because the grass has odd patches of grow. The weed / fertilizer applied appears to have been watered down to the point that it smelled tasted and tested as water. Zip code 34786. DO NOT let these people anywhere near your property. There is no resolution, no payment for damages have been made. They just show up and cause more damage. read more

They are the worst! Cannot stick to a schedule then they make up excuses, very poor management. Job that was suppose to start 11/9 did not get done until 12/19 to give an idea. This happens with every job! Feel sorry for those in the field for they ask the impossible of some of them, if one goes on vacation they do not replace with another but you pay the same, the job just doesn't get done. They will come in with a low bid, be great for a couple of months, then it goes to .....Pay more in the beginning for they will cost you more in the end if you use them and the results will be much better with someone else. read more

The difference in the appearance of my community since this change has been like day to night. The grass is mowed unevenly, the weeds proliferate, many shrubs and trees are dead or dying and the place appears to be totally unkempt. If you are considering this landscape company, don't. They are not only incompetent with horrendous performance, they are also totally unresponsive to their customers concerns...Total arrogance on top of totally unsatisfactory work...Avoid BrightView at all costs! read more

I contacted this company on 07/23/2018, and I have yet to receive a response. They were doing some work at a local school. They blocked the driveway and I was unable to get out. In fact, the driver was taking his sweet time backing up into the driveway. There was a second landscape vehicle parked in the way which could have easily been moved. BrightView has been doing the landscaping for my city for a while now. It seems like I always see their trucks all over the place. Well they recently just took over the landscape of the community I live in. It's a large HOA with a few hundred homes. I waited a few months before posting anything to see how they did. Before they took over, the grass had brown patches throughout and the hedges in the community never seemed to get pruned. With the old guys, it seemed like weeks before irrigation repairs were ever made. Since BrightView took over it seems like my community has been revitalized! I love driving home now!!! Gone are all the brown spots on the grass. The hedges are constantly looking good. And here's the kicker, this is what prompted me to write a review: there was a broken sprinkler head that I spotted outside my home in the common area (likely from my neighbors' kids who were playing over there, no biggie, kids are kids). I didn't call it in to my HOA manager until about 3pm that afternoon when I remembered it and had a free moment. When I called it in, my manager said that she already knew about it because BrightView had told her about it in the morning when they saw it and had already fixed it. What?!? It was fixed even before I called it in?!?! Amazing!!! Being a bit skeptical I checked it out as soon as I got home, and sure enough, it was a brand new sprinkler head. Now that's good stuff. Brightview Landscape Services recently bought out Brickman Landscaping in the Seattle area. They are horrible! Our original landscaping company NW Landscaping (which we loved) has changed over ownerships to a company over four times; Brightview being the 4th and last. We haven't renewed our contract for over 6 years since being with the 2nd company. Since Brightview took over less than a year ago from Brickman. Ever since then, their quality of workmanship has been reduced to doing the bare minimum amount of work. On top of this, they had the nerve to raise their prices. So we fired them, giving them two weeks notice in March of 2018. Then they still charged us for April 2018 for doing absolutely no work and making no visits. They have continued to bill us monthly claiming we were still under contract, when clearly we weren't. We haven't signed the last two contract with the last two companies (Brickman & Brightview) for good reason. Do NOT do business with Brightview. They are greedy for money for work they haven't done and will not let up. I absolutely HATE them! read more

Tree trimming should be more than cutting whatever branches you can reach. Just because you have a saw does not mean you need to cut all the lowest "easy" branches. Brightview with their fancy truck did a bunch of unneeded cutting on some trees in our nieghborhood. Now the trees look all top heavy and ready to break. Just because you have a fancy truck does not mean you know how to care for trees. It just is not right. read more

This company is solely concerned with money. They were hired for doing a landscaping job for an HOA. Contract signed. Performing work and 1month later, they terminated the contracted with only one weeks notice during the Thanksgiving holiday, to say that the account is less than the $2;500 per month and it does not meet the business plan for 2018. Left this poor community high and dry. Tryied to get them to care about the community and the owners, and their commitment, no change. Very disappointing.
