This higher end spot is the counterpart to vistas that The Viewpoint Brewery offer. This offers the same coastal breezes but at an incredible upgraded new interior design. I love sitting at the bar here with friends old and new and consuming bottle after bottle of sauvignon blanc paired with haricot vert or the inventible fish taco seared to pertection. Recently 4 of us we went for brunch and the Brig didn't disappoint. We had a bunch of different things and they were all delicious. Our friends started with fish tacos, we tried the special popcorn fish as a group and it was on point. Next we all shared the coconut-macadamia crusted French toast and it's more than enough for a couple of people. It was just what we needed a bit of sweet with savory and everything was cooked perfectly. The drinks are also made well and recommended. Out server Taylor was amazing and we were always taken care of. The atmosphere is always fun and we appreciated the flat screen TVs so we could watch golf while we enjoyed brunch. I'll preface this by saying I've had better experiences at Brigantine in the past. I recently dined at Brigantine as part of a corporate gathering. Melissa, the events coordinator, is great to work with and very responsive. The restaurant staff was very attentive, friendly, and organized. We had the entire back patio space which has wonderful views of the Del Mar race track and surrounding nature. I'll only speak to my personal experience but the food was seriously disappointing. As part of the event, we had to choose 3 menu items to offer the guests. Between all the allergies and dietary restrictions of the 28-person group this was difficult even though the menu has a nice variety of accommodations. They were able to make the vegan cauliflower steak gluten free but that ended up just being what seemed like an uncooked cross section of cauliflower with a sauce that was incredibly spicy. I ended up not really eating this entree and would have preferred if we could have allowed the couple of guests with allergies to order off the regular dining menu like requested given how much we were paying to dine there. I also ordered a mocktail that was a spin of their regular blackberry margarita. The level of spice in the drink was painful to the palate, agreed upon by a group of us who tried it. Lastly, when seated at the table a group of us saw a massive rat running across the outside of the building between the main dining room and patio space. We did not see the rat come from inside the restaurant or go inside the restraint given our limited view. I understand the restaurant location is near the beach and canyon space but this was an unappetizing sight. read more

There was a cooked MOTH in my food. Yes, the bug. I ordered the burger and after finishing the burger I started eating the truffle fries. As I am finish the top layer of fries I uncover the cooked moth. The moth was huge, the size of my pinky finger. I wasn't sure what it was and assumed it was a lost brussel sprout. I turned it and as soon as I touched it I saw the legs. Absolutely disgusting. It was cooked meaning it went through the process with all the food, horrible sight. In addition, my sister ordered the steak medium and it came over well done. She was only able to have a bite or two but it was too tough to eat. We showed the employees and too it away. When the bill arrived, the only "compensation" for having a large moth was taking the burger off the bill. Even though we have had multiple problems. read more

Hostess was welcoming and nice and also no hiccups here, we were seated right away (table ready to go). Our waiters (2) were great and efficient since we had a group of 15. Had dinner there on 6.23.2025 & it was OUTSTANDING! We were a party of 4. We started with the calamari strips and a few adult beverages. I had the Crab Cob Salad which was HUGE & Delicious! So much fresh crab and shrimp on the salad. Our waitress was super and sweet! The decor looked new. $10 Valet Fee but well worth every penny. Brigantine welcomed us with coastal charm, sweeping ocean views, and an indoor-outdoor vibe that felt quintessentially SoCal. But the real magic? We could actually talk--and laugh, and catch up--with our dear friends who we hadn't seen since the pandemic. That alone was worth five stars. As for the food: I started with the Brussels sprouts and a fresh, crisp salad--both were bright, well-balanced, and beautifully plated. But let's talk dessert. The apple crumble, warm and spiced just right, paired with a scoop of velvety vanilla ice cream, was absolute perfection. I'd come back for that alone. After walking our pooch Onyx at the beach we grew thirsty and a little hungry. So we called and they said they accept pets. Having paid for parking along the roadside at the dog beach we had enough time to grab a couple cocktails and relax. I ordered a Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita spicy good! Richard ordered a Makers Mark & Soda. We ordered 2 Swordfish Tacos and relaxed and 2 other dogs were around us too. Great service with friendly servers. Valet parking only, unless you want to try and find some parking on the street. (Looked packed on the street for a while so opted for valet.) I had the oysters in the half shell and macadamia crusted mahi. I was disappointed with the macadamia crusted mahi because it was so bland. I didn't even realize it until halfway through the fish that it was raw inside!! (I was so busy talking to my party that I didn't even look at the inside much). Great spot overlooking the Del Mar Racetrack. The service was excellent, and the food was too. We tried the coconut macadamia crusted shrimp, a bowl of clam chowder (my Maine-iac wife gave it two thumbs up ), and then we split the swordfish. So much food, all seasoned well and nicely prepared and presented. This is a great spot for dinner. Overall, the burger was a 6 out of 10. I ordered the shrimp and grits. A white piece of paper would've had more flavor. I was so disappointed. The presentation was beautiful, but again, this plate also lacked flavor. The wait staff kept passing up our empty water glasses, which was quite disappointing when it wasn't that busy. Came here last Sunday with a couple friends as a last minute dinner decision. Haven't been here since before the remodel. I think they did a beautiful job and we loved dining outdoors on the patio! It was such a beautiful day and the view was perfect:) Our server was great and we were so impressed with how knowledgeable he was about the menu items. We took him up on his suggestions because he seemed to have great recs. We ordered the calamari strips...some of the best I've had! I love that it came with both cocktail sauce and this yummy, white jalapeño sauce. The calamari was perfectly cooked! We also ordered clam chowder (especially loved) + the macadamia crusted halibut (I think). Brigantine has beautiful views and comfortable seating. Service is always great. There is valet parking (tbh not sure if there is anything other than valet parking) but it's convenient anyway. Plenty of heaters outside if needed. I was so excited to see stuffed lobster tail on the specials menu. Coming from the east coast i have been looking for baked stuffed lobster to no avail for years. Sadly the stuffing really missed the mark. The tails themselves were good and cooked perfectly but the stuffing was just awful. The crab in the stuffing didn't taste fresh and the overall flavor was just 'blah'. Hubby's burger was pretty good. One thing I love about this place is the inexpensive bottle of champagne. We did that with OJ on the side for mimosas. I added an extra star and would return again to try some other dishes because the view and the service are great (and I don't want to judge them too harshly on a dish which isn't even normally on their menu). read more

My friend got the surf and turf and her steak was also very over cooked. We did get to the restaurant close to 8pm and I know the kitchen closes at 10 so maybe they were tired? Wouldn't recommend to anyone and wouldn't go back. We did half the oysters that were the only good thing to be honest. The drinks weren't even great. read more

Out of all the Brigantine chains, Del Mar is the best. I usually have their tacos. Their famous hot sauce is a must try. They have $4 taco Tuesday and half off wine Wednesday. You can only get tacos individually in the bar area. The restaurant side has more formal menu. Great place to also watch the races. Outdoor seating gives you a good view. read more

They have a great deck & bar area which is open seating - you get access to the bar menu as well as dinner menu in this area. Food: Awful, Un flavorful, expensive. We came here for a family members birthday. We made a reservation and were able to be sat within a couple of minutes of arriving. They have valet parking for 8 bucks when you get to the front of the place. I unfortunately have no idea where you would park if you didn't do valet. The entrance is put together and welcoming. It was pretty busy when we arrived at 6:35, with other parties or events at the tables. We got the waygu burger, lobster tacos and scallops, which filled all of us up. The food was well done, with flavor that you can taste, and garnishes that set the dish. Our waiter was very sweet and made sure to get us anything if we needed during our time there. The dessert menu is so rich! filled with chocolate and creamy goodness, they also have some dessert cocktails. The area inside is elegant filled with pretty lights and a good atmosphere of people. I have been to, two brigantines and both have been excellent experiences. I've enjoyed the food and drinks along with the people who make the experience great.
