Also they portray themselves on uber eats and or postmates as there sandwiches having a runny yoke in every photo for all of there breakfast sandwiches. But everytime I order from them that is never the case the egg is always over cooked, never runny at all and not cooked well. Been coming here for years and it's always been consistent. That has since changed since the change in ownership. Work across the street and loved being able to stop in for a quick/solid bite. I really want to like this place but the service has been so poor my last few visits. This past visit I ordered a toasted bagel with cream cheese and lox and capers. The woman at the counter didn't seem to be paying attention as she'd already turned away from me so I repeated my order and specifically said lox and capers twice ( I was coming late in the day and thought they may have run out.) Once I got my bagel she charged me $6 which was way too low for what I ordered. Sure enough when I checked it there were only capers but no lox. I went back and again said "I ordered lox as well " . She was very rude and impatient with me and said she didn't know what lox I meant? After giving up I left without any lox and then realized a few minutes later she had charged me 6 bucks for a bagel with cream cheese which is usually a few dollars cheaper than that not to mention the addition tip I'd given her. I kept trying here despite the problems my last few visits because I wanted to support small businesses but next time without over the hill to Larkspur and get my bagel from Boichoks. read more

This is in violation of California Code Section 113961: No Bare Hand Contact with Ready-to-Eat Food which observes that hand washing is not enough and calls for disposable sanitary gloves and other measures to be used. 5/17/19 I think this bagel shop was one of my gf's favorites if I remember correctly. ("Was" cause she corrected me this morning--no longer after this last visit, sadly.) She works out in San Rafael, which would be a long long long way from home in San Jose, so I never came with her to here 'till now. I'd have to say, their bagels have a great texture. Chewy, and just the right amount of density. Not overly moist like soft bread, but not dry either. Just the right density. But if you do come here, just know only their bagels are good. For one, the cakes and muffins are not made here. Personally I'd put signs out saying so, cause I think most people seeing pastries in the displays would assume they were the restaurant's. Kinda a turn-off. Secondly, their sandwiches are quite standard (though at least aren't rips)... 1. Pastrami Sandwich $6.75: So, I got the poppy bagel which was great, and was seriously topped with poppy. Surprised I didn't get high! But the pastrami was cheap bulk crap. Everything else pretty standard. 5/10 2. Pepper Bagel Egg Special $5.95 "w/ egg, turkey & swiss": Strangely, their pepper bagel doesn't have the same texture as my poppy, being far softer. I dunno, maybe it was microwaved? At least the turkey isn't low-grade like the pastrami, being thicker sliced, but it was very dry. 5/10 3. The Bagels: Just the bagels would be 8/10 Also, I have to note, it was REALLY weird that some dude was singing opera loudly from the back, but the front where we dined was playing blues on the speakers. Bridgeway bagel is the only place you'll really find me before work in Sausalito. Their bagels, especially their salt bagel, are wonderful!!! I have three favorite salt bagel sandwiches here, the lox with onion, tomato and capers, the egg, bacon and avocado and the tuna fish is the most tasty ever! It really is the most flavorful tuna fish I've ever had. Also their hazelnut coffee is the most delicious addictive liquid I've ever consumed. It's the best coffee I've ever had. this place is by far the best bagel and sandwich place I have been to - at least in the last decade. I had a everything bagel with lox tomato creamcheese and it was SO AMAZING. Generous portions of lox and perfectly sliced fresh tomato and the bagel was SOOOO soft and fresh and they make everything in house - even including the roast turkey I heard. the bathroom was IMMACULATE (like seriously cleanest bathroom I have ever seen) and the staff was super nice and friendly.
