These bagels are so delicious and I love a cafe that serves Peerless coffee (french vanilla - yum!). I tried the Everything bagel with Jalapeno smear and omg, so yummy. The coffee was piping hot and fresh and they had all the fixins there to make it just how you like it. There are a TON of bagel options and I can't wait to go back to try them all. I was in the area dropping my dog off at the vet and wanted a bagel. My go to order is a pesto bagel double toasted with sun dried tomato cream cheese, but they did not have pesto. I went with a jalapeño bagel and the same cream cheese instead. The woman at the counter was friendly and service was quick. When it came to the bagel itself, it was different from what I expected. Good bagel spot and coffee to have before going to hike around mt tamalpais or marin county etc. luckily this spot was open at 6:30 but officially 7am. I have been coming here since I was a kid and everything they make is outstanding! They have a great selection of bagels and freshly made cream cheeses all of which are perfect. Can get pretty busy on weekend mornings but even then the wait is hardly ever longer than five minutes. They are a family run business and one of the only places you can find a chocolate chip bagel. My partner was so excited to find this place. He is from the east coast (NY specially) and so always complains about how the bagels and the pizza are lacking here. But this is the first place where he said the bagels were pretty decent and the best he's found in the area. He said that it doesn't quite meet NY standards but still liked it so much that he bought an extra half dozen bagels during our visit for his work friends from New York who have also missed the bagels. We live kind of far from here but would definitely be back the next time we are in the area. The lines can get pretty long here in the mornings but there's plenty of parking in the lot. Nice detour from Noah's and other chains, this owner-operated store just off 101 is a reliable spot for a brkfst bagel. We kinda discovered this place during COVID. My hubs is from New Jersey and i lived in NY for 7 years...suffice it to say pizza and bagels are judged harshly in our household. I've come to lower my standards for bagels and breakfast sandwiches, and more often than not just opt for something different given it's so hard to recreate the NY bagel experience outside of the tri state region (I don't understand why and don't buy the water explanation...if you have other theories please enlighten me!) They were fast and efficient (appreciated during the pandemic). The bagels themselves were surprisingly not bad. If I got them in Ny I'd probably say "meh, not the best, not the worst" but getting them in Marin I thought "hey this is pretty good!" We'll definitely make this our go to bagel place, given we're not likely to patronize any of the big chains like Noah's or Posh. The breakfast sandwich was fine. Well probably get it again when the hankering strikes, and I'm looking forward to making our own with their bagels. Overall as a native Californian who misses NY bagels from time to time this place definitely hits the spot. read more

New York Bagels continues to be a solid, affordable breakfast option in Mill Valley. The bagels are always fresh; the service is fast & friendly; and I'm usually in and out in less than 5 minutes for around $5. On my most recent visit, I decided to try one of their classic breakfast sandwiches (with egg, bacon, and melted pepper jack cheese on a sesame seed bagel). It certainly filled me up, though I couldn't help but wonder how much better this sandwich would've been with a fresh tomato and maybe a little aioli and/or hot sauce. I guess I'm a little spoiled these days with all the breakfast sandwich options around town. In any case, I'll just make it a point to request those extra toppings on my next visit. If you need breakfast in a hurry and don't want McDonald's or Starbucks, poke your head into New York Bagels. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

These are the best bagels ive had so far since moving here. I got the cranberry and my husband got pumpernickel with veggie cream cheese. Service was fast and friendly. There was a huge crowd around 9am when we were there. I wish there was some outdoor seating and a little water pitched for people who just want a cup of water. We will be back. read more

This is a great example of a disappearing species in southern Marin County. It's a local family run business that serves good food with good ingredients and doesn't cut corners, and does so at an economical price. And it has done so for many years. I tend to go here for the bagels with butter or cream cheese, or the breakfast bagel sandwich with eggs and ham or bacon, so nothing too fancy. But I notice that when I do order a true sandwich such as a turkey combo, that's excellent too. So I've done my share of what I thought were well-deserved very critical reviews, but this is a place that I feel totally great about endorsing after visiting there many dozens of times, if not over 100 times, over the years they have been at Strawberry Village. read more
