They have assorted European goods and such up and down the aisles but for me, living on this side of the bridge, it's the cakes. We can't go to the usual pink box bakeries in the city like we used to which Males Molllje Stones our celebration cake central. This early morning I needed calories to carry me throughout the day spent sailing the bay on a pretty aggressive sailing boat. So I grabbed my biodegradable container and loaded up on pasta, meatballs, a sausage and some fried chicken. I grabbed a loaf of saran-wrapped bread and proceeded to the counter. $24 dollars for 1.8 lbs of hot buffet items. The pasta was absolutely disgusting. I rarely ever leave bad reviews, but this was merited. Some pasta uncooked, the whole thing bathed in a diluted pasta sauce that made it look and feel like it was in a "suspension" state - kind of pissed me off. I've had better food in the field pretending to be a soldier in the National Guard. This was homeless shelter troff feed. The bread was stale enough that I had to start worrying about a couple crowns. I just scarfed it down knowing I wouldn't be able to eat anything else for the next 10 hours. I wouldn't have written this review had the total been 12 or 14 dollars, but 24 bucks for suspension fluid pasta and cold fried chicken... you need to do better. read more

Went to Mollie Stone's with a friend to refuel after a day spent exploring Sausalito. Being a longtime vegan wished there was more vegan options in the salad and Delhi to grab a bite. I did however find a bunch of all vegan healthy and tasty Urban Remedy options. I opted for a macro bowl and also got an Evolution juice. I appreciate that Mollie Stone's had compostable silverware in a compostable wrapper so feel they are taking steps in the right direction of being an eco-friendly business that is right at home in the Bay Area. I would bump it up to five stars if the deli and salad bar would offer more vegan or vegetarian options as found this underwhelming yet am glad there were several solid vegan options from the Urban Remedy options they stocked. read more

Continuing problems with stale food. I bought a can of black tea a few weeks ago and realized when I got home, and was drinking my first cup of tea, it was 6 months out of date. Tonight I bought a block of cream cheese, when I opened it there was mold and festering mildew, two weeks past use date. This is a continuing problem with Mollie Stone's in sausalito. Last week I got a half and half creamer only to find out that it was 3 days past the sell date. Upsetting, and the price of food there is certainly warranting an expectation of the highest quality product, somebody's missing the ball here. Aren't there public health laws about this? read more

Hmmm I think grocery store is semi-decent. It's more of a maybe once a month grab and go. I read some reviews that prices are expensive. I do agreed with that. My boyfriend and I stopped by here to grab some dinner and nearly spent $60 for barely any food. We grab a case of sparkling water which is priced like Whole Foods. But their hot food and their packed food ready made is about $3 dollars then Whole Foods. I do like how clean it is and there is a lot of options in terms of ready made food and it's a healthier version then most grocery store. I'm trying to compare it to Nuggets. Staff was friendly and helpful that we didn't have a problem with. Overall it is a nice grocery store. I've been shopping here for years. There are few things they have I need but otherwise I limit what I purchase here just because of the prices. I love it when they grill outside and purchased an $18 sandwich today. Ouch. The guys in the grill area need a quick lesson on cutting Tri-tip AGAINST the grain because the sandwich I had was inedible. One more idea: Siraccha is not a good idea for everyone. The only options as a smear on the sandwich were 4 kinds of red type hot sauce which cancels any of the nice grilled flavor of tri-tip. Who made THAT decision? They did pull the white part of the roll out for me which was nice and one of the guys had a single packet of mayo we used but this was after the Siraccha was already on my sammy. Ugh. Everyone knows cracked / chipped food tools are unsanitary and should be replaced immediately. (Like this needed to be thrown in the garbage). Came here to get some lunch items for our sail out of the Clipper Marina. I got an egg salad sandwich, 2 Stewart's colas, a Toblerone...my friend picked out strawberries and pasta. It was an ideal place to get some lunch items for a day sale around Marin. The sandwich was very good. I got ciabatta bread with the egg salad, which was a recommendation. This might be the safest/most sanitized store in Marin. I really have to hand it to Mollie Stone's management for their pristine professionalism. All employees were wearing masks & gloves. The aisles weren't overly crowded with shoppers. The floors were marked so that everyone stayed at least six feet apart. The cashier wiped down the credit card station before and after my transaction. These guys thought of everything. As always, Mollie Stone's has great pre-made/to-go deli items. They also have plenty of fresh produce and a pretty stellar wine selection. They have pretty much everything you need to properly shelter in place (though I didn't check to see if they had any toilet paper for sale). If you don't want to endure the long lines and questionable sanitization of Safeway, I recommend shopping here. It might cost a few extra dollars... but I think it's worth it. read more

This store is a great option if you live in this neighborhood and need something fast, but there's nothing special about it that warrants their outrageous prices, i.e. you don't get exceptional / unique food choices or better service. It basically stocks the same brands as Safeway but charges way more. The cashiers are great but the deli service is soooo slow--they need a better system. And the packaged foods at the deli are often stale (e.g spaghetti & meatballs). One bright spot is their cheese counter. In a nutshell, I don't recommend shopping here unless money is of no concern or convenience is what's most important to you. read more
